I use the same style of D, you can shell up and ride out the storm then attack, or you can open the gloves to parry and counter as they punch, or you can throw in upperbody movement and slip, roll etc It's a great style.
If it has a drawback, it's that you can get too complacent sitting behind it, and you can lose rounds on inactivity.
I had a look at the Winky/Williams fight. I think Clottey would be more competitive than Winky. I don't think Williams would bully Clottey around.
Josh probably gets hit less, because Winky took more chances and opened up more.
I kinda like Joshua's defense better. He has good counters from his peek a boo defense, while Wright kinda just shells up and waits for his opponent to stop throwing punches.
Isn't Khan supposed to be a "devout Muslim"?! I didn't know "devout Muslims" were supposed to sleep around.
Pauli should attack him in the media with this! Hahaha!
My ranking would be:
1. Felix Sturm
2. Joshua Clottey
3. Winky Wright
I based my ranking on attack and defense/damage-received (especially, least likely to get knocked out against an elite attacking boxer like Manny Pacquiao) using the Peek-a-Boo style.
Yeah, I know, Sturm got KOed/beaten by Castillejo but he was winning most rounds and he got careless. Sturm got robbed against Oscar.
Cotto dropped Clottey with a jab (Clottey got robbed).
Winky's defense is good too. But I put him on number 3 because his attack doesn't look good/textbook/classical compared Clottey/Sturm. His attack looks "ugly" but it's very effective. Also, imo, he kinda gets hit a lot when he flurries/trades with his opponents.
Just my opinion regarding Peek-a-Boo boxers, especially defense.
I'm a Clottey fan but sometimes he's frustrating to watch - low punch output. He has the power to KO people. Must throw a lot of punches for high probability of KO and/or decision win.
I'm a fan of both Pacquiao and Clottey. I think Clottey has better defense than Winky Wright. I was hoping he was gonna do that head shake thing towards Pacquiao.
