So 2015 3G could see punching bags Froch or Chavez at 168 but needed the number 1 (or 2 depending on if floyd retired) P4P to come down to 164?... sounds about right. He wanted to meet floyd and pac at 154 but couldnt do it for cotto, canelo nor lara doe.
So far in canelos young career he’s faced the best 147 lber, the best 154 lber, and the best 160 lber (2x) yet somehow he’s still considered a coward? But it isnt hate...
I gotcha bud. I prefer the CaneloGGG outcomes at the full 160 vs Canelo Cotto at 155 for the WBC strap. Now it has more credence..which I guess I can give Canelo a pass for dumping the strap.
If he didnt dump the strap, canelo 3g (1 and 2) would have been a mandatory defense and been either 55/45 or 60/40 split. That was the issue.
Guess im the odd fan out. Maybe 5 years ago i called crawford the new floyd and thought spence would be his manny. Until this fight is without a doubt, a fight for the best fighter in boxing i dont want it. Let it be for all the 147 marbles. Now that i’ve finished reading wbc franchise = wba super and the wbc champ= wba regular champ... i get it, wbc has been pushing for a way to unify every division and this is their idea. I hated it upon announcement but this may be the only way. Their WBC king has the flexibility to go after any title and when the time is right “unify” with the WBC regular/full... originally they were looking for a way to get other champs in their rankings but I believe one organization wasnt going for it.
Oh how i wish Nelo had this same energy at 154... the killers are coming and id bet thats when he makes his permanent 168 move and flirts with 170-175... by the way, is this enough proof that 3G was a king in a weak division (era).

Roach is right fighters lose and they blame the trainer instead of looking in the mirror. Sanchez told GGG in the first fight go to the body over and over GGG but refused. Then him and GGG made up bs stories about well if Canelo would of fought me Mexican Style and not moved so much I would of looked better. With the entire world criticizing him for no body work said in the rematch he would go to the body. Not only did he not go to the body more he threw fewer body shots in the rematch and got his face broken and totally punked out a mexican style fight. And you can't blame the trainer because Sanchez told him over and over please GGG stop backing up. He repeated it over and over while GGG just shook his head yup I will then kept doing the same dumb shyt.
2 biggest fights of his career...NO Mexican Style and he threw a total of 14 body shots. That's not on Sanchez that's on GGG

For whatever reason i dont remember seeing the body stats. But thats very eye opening and i can only assume he didnt go to the body because he couldnt defend canelos catch and shoot... i know its kind of “rare” in boxing but does anyone remember a fight where 3G doubled up on his hooks to either head and body or just doubling the hook on the same side period? I’d think if 3G could, that might have slowed canelos return fire... oh well im re-watching the rematch 2night
Dazn is trash if this is the truth. Let canelo/boxing pick his opponents. He does at least half a million with anyone he steps in with in the PPV era. Sept stream all middleweights or future foils for canelo. Andrade and smith on the undercard. May he fights the most impressive foil. If they were smart at all, they’d know the moment canelo-3G is made thats the death of both fighters. Neither floyd nor pac could crack a million, let alone half a mill, with another boxer opposite them. Folks will cancel their subs if they dont milk this nelo-3G thing til the end. 3G has 5 fights left and no one but canelo.
He does have his mandatory. Andrade even said it that he wasn't free to fight ggg because of his mandatory.
I just pulled up the rankings and sulecki is ranked 3 behind GG and Lemieux. Is Sulecki the interim champ? Really, far as i can tell 3G had first dibs on Andrade if he wanted him.

... just read an article about team 3G. I know its tough teaching an old fighter new tricks, but if 3G can (re)learn to get out of the way of punches with both his upper body and legs, Canelo might get stopped in the rematch... it just said he’s taking a different approach but I would think 3G at least at one point in time was defensively sound considering his amateur career. Could have been hype talk but i would love to see 3G stop a guy after rolling off a punch or a pull counter or anything other than i eat a punch then feed u back.

Follow me closely here:
1. Spence is named mandatory challenger to Terence Crawford.
2. Bob Arum won't give him a fair deal. So the fight goes to purse bids.
3. The WBO rules say that in the event of a purse bid the challenger gets 25%, the champion gets 75%. There's no way Spence fights Crawford for that amount of money.
So the big fights STILL won't happen anyway.
WBO splits are 60/40
A few things...
1) as another poster mentioned, spence doesnt have “1punch KO” power. He has “ima punch you and you’ll have to carry the punch all night” power which is more or less the difference between 3g and Jacobs power.
2) pac is not the warrior his fans make him to be. He fights fire with fire but he takes turns returning. That would very much be the wrong fight with spence. Garcia was made ineffective by not punching with spence instead waiting on the fire to die to seek an opening.
3) spence is VERY good with distance, pacs “only” chance imo is some of his prime/ungodly footwork. MAYBE he can keep spence turning and never able to land anything significant. At one point garcia had spence badly out of place and open for a kill shot but garcia didnt shoot.
4) everyone should be extremely concerned with spences body work. Pac has been stopped to the body, and a weight drained, no hand wrapped margarito was able to hurt pac to the body.
5) pacs jab is pretty “broken” in that he lands maybe 10-15 percent tho its mostly just a blinder for the left. But the point is his jab would be the more important punch in this fight. The left is harder to land on southpaw...
6) spence can spend his camp training with floyd lol
Ggg has options if he stops being a diva... diry became ibf Mando, charlo wbc mando, smith (168) has the real version of canelos title, and andrade has the wbo which is the only title G never held... he just has to make fights and not sparring secessions. There are many ways to skin a cat.
Soooo i love khans boxing, and hate khan. That said i thought he quit but the article raises decent points i havent thought of... if khan was a quitter he definitely wouldnt have made it to the final bell against maidana and he wouldnt have gotten up everytime garcia put him down... however as i was writing this, I realized, khan is tough in heart but not so much mentally. To my knowledge this is his first time ever actually being beaten up AND outboxed. I can see the latter making him quit.
Kovalev was a good fighter but he always seemed to get elevated based on people not liking Haymon/Stevenson moreso than what he accomplished in the ring.
I always wanted to see the fight and it was sad that both of their management did things at different times to prevent the fight from happening.

The way thurman is underrating pac will be his downfall. As fans/haters we can say these things but his opponents shouldn’t. Pac will definitely show him new angles because of his footwork. Not only that, but, pac can actually box... if thurman werent so full of himself maybe team Mayweather would be in his corner to tell him these things. All his talking has pushed me from no dog in the fight to hoping pac hurts him lol (just in the fight for clarification).

Interesting, I strongly believe the intentions of the franchise tag is just the flexibility to become undisputed, but to your point i dont remember reading that explicit language... this thing only works if at some point they force the franchise to face their regular... id have to re-read the initial post and search up. I have an idea. Instead of Andrade and Charlo b.itching and moaning about Canelo, why don’t they fight each other next. Or if they can’t come together, how about one of them fight Jacobs next. That would create some legitimate excitement for a Canelo clash in 2020.
This this this. Andrade-Charlo is the best fight @ 160 not involving canelo. Should have happened at 154. If jacobs hasnt flown to 168 and charlo wins then charlo v jacobs (andrade wont fight) but another interesting foil for either man before or after the other...dery. Gets them a mandatory under the ibf.
When people talk legacy, it's about the the big names on a fighter's resume. What people remember are the top guys that the fighter beat.
Golovkin is by far the biggest name on Alvarez's resume.
After two controversial decisions, you'd think Canelo would welcome a chance to fight GGG again and put the doubters to rest. You have to wonder why the guy keeps putting road blocks up.
Lara, Cotto, Mosley all over 3G and anyone on 3G resume... 3G needed/needs these fights with canelo, not the other way around. Never mind canelo is already a 3 division champ across 4 divisions.
Ok Crawford is on the wrong side of 30 and Spence turns 29 in a couple of months. Neither one has a signature fight yet. Not a good look for their legacy or the sport.
