No one has been more critical of Canelo and his lack of quality opposition than me (except Brush Baby). He impressed last night, and deserved to win. I know he was idle for long periods of time, his stamina looked questionable, and was out landed by 30 blows. Don't matter. His defence was the best he has ever had, he landed all of the telling blows, his power had Trout tentative all night, and none of the punches he took fazed his one bit. I watched it twice and scored it 115-113 both times, and I scored the seventh round 10-9

This is not from a hater nor a nuthugger First, admit to yourself what your chin is your main weakness. Then take a page out of Wlads book and tweak your style to be more defensive. This will take a change of trainers (Roach is not a good defensive trainer, Manny Stewart is) Second, hand & foot speed are your best tools. Maximize then. Third, learn to keep your cool when you get tagged, resist the urge to score a big punch when you just took one. This is what happened last night. Get on that bicycle until your head is right, then look for openings Lastly, stay at 140lbs. Lots of good money fights here. Too many good punchers at 147+

First let me say Jr was verrrrrrrrrry impressive last night. Good power, great body punching (as usual), and a solid chin. My complaint is that there are some of you putting up posts like- he's the new Hagler and my favorite- the best damn middleweight God ever created. My bytch is that should'nt he at the very least beat the real middleweight champion (Martinez) before we consider him ATG and HOF worthy? Does a win vs Andy Lee really get you these kind of accolades? Really? Really?

The Vargas/Trinidad thread got me thinking Is it better to baby your fighter through week compitition to a belt (Alvarez, Chavez Jr, Berto), or is it better to throw them in tough (Holyfield, Vargas, Jones, Davey Moore)? Thoughts??
