Your timelines are way off. Floyd left the super featherweight division in Late 02 I believe with his last defense being against Jesus Chavez. Morales didn't reach the division until 03 and Barerra reached it AFTER Morales did (fighting Morales for the title I am not 100% sure about that though). Floyd DOMINATED the super featherweight division. Him and Morales are actually around the same size I believe and I think a bout with them both would have been very tactical, much like high speed chess. Floyd would have came out victorious however, he had more power than both at that particular weight and he was just as fast if not faster.
Yeah, your right. But I think it was still very plausible for them to meet since Morales and Barrera were already fighting at the Featherweight Divisions when Floyd was still at Super Featherweight. From 2000-2002 all 3 had belts around their waists. And all were obviously at the top of their games. So I just wondered why PBF never fought them.
What do I think? I think you need to have your head examined for even considering these fights ever taking place. Mayweather by curb stomp over both of these two Mexican greats. Sorry, man.
I need to have my head examined? Talk about Irony. YOU need to get your head examined and YOU need to hop off Floyd's dick. Floyd would STOMP them?? I like what you smoking there, buddy..
NO ONE would get stomped if PBF fought those 2. Morales and Barrera would seriously give Floyd the toughest fights of his life. They are versatile enough to have a big chance of defeating Floyd. Not only are they GREAT at brawling, but they can also switch it up and do some GREAT Boxing, and theyre also GREAT Counter-Punchers too. Floyd would have his hands full against them. Not to mention that he never fought someone who gets even more fierce the more they get hit as much as those 2 Mexican fighters do. Everybody knows how Morales and Barrera would always fight back when they're getting hit or pummeled, especially when they're on the ropes. I think that would have a psychological effect on PBF.
I can still see Floyd winning dont get me wrong(although it would come down by decision, because I dont think he can KO those 2), but IMO those 2 has real great chances of beating Floyd as well.
To be honest, its not so much as people calling someone overrated because the boxer TRULY is overrated, or because they TRULY look at the boxer's skill and conclude that he is overrated. Most of the time, its only just about not liking the boxer's personality. Or if the boxer beat your favorite boxer. Or simply because that boxer is at the top and people are just plain jealous of him. In other words, BIASNESS is what corrupts all of us.
No matter what Mayweather does today and in the future, what Calzaghe does today and in the future, what Pacquiao does today and in the future, what Pavlik does today and in the future, etc etc etc. there will ALWAYS be doubters who would call them overrated irregardless of how good they really are and how many great opponents they've fought. My dad told me once that even the great Ali was more hated than liked when he was in the ring. Even after beating Frazier, Foreman and all the greats and being a 3-time World Heavyweight Champion, there was always doubters who ripped through Ali and labeled him as nothing special. Only when he retired did a lot of people "suddenly" realized how great he really was
Its the truth, Folks. We will always find excuses to bring people down. That's our sad nature as human beings. We will always pull down people who are more successful than us or our loved ones, our friends, our favorite boxer, actor, actress, rock band, rapper, etc etc etc. I for one am guilty of doing that many, many times.
i thought pacfans were the worst but after reading this post, i couldn't be any wrong. floyd beat the bests at 130. floyd destroyed chico and after that he wasn't the same. floyd retired genaro hernandez. and who the hell are morales and barrera at 130 compare to those two? if pacquiao can ko morales twice at 130 what do you think is gonna happen to morales and barrera if they fought floyd? at 130 floyd is much bigger, stronger and faster than pacquiao. only nuthuggers would think those two have a chance against floyd. i don't even think they can land a punch on him. floyd's not only fast but is so slick as well.
huh??? I'm at a loss here, how exactly was Floyd stronger than Pac. He couldn't even permanently knock down Chico. PBF knocked him how many times? 4-5 times? And not once was Chico wobbled. He even easily got up from the last knockdown and was so pissed that his team threw in the towel when he can still clearly fight. I'm sorry but that kind of showing DOES NOT compare to Pac who ACTUALLY has a One Punch-KO Power and actually scored KO wins over a guy who has never been KO'd in his illustrious career(Morales).
And thats not a slight on Morales, that's actually a compliment on his awesome chin. Because only Pac ever did that to him, no one else. So no, SFW Floyd COULD NOT and WOULD NOT KO Morales even if his life depended on it. Floyd would have to have Pac's power to ever do that, but sadly he does not. You might argue that Floyd is faster, is more skilled, has better ring generalship, better movement than Pac. But Pac has more power than him. Please don't make PBF a God or something because he's not. He had and still has his own flaws.
All that I wrote here also applies to the Baby-Faced Assassin. And again, I'm NOT talking about SFW EM and MAB. Im talking about FEATHERWEIGHT EM and MAB against SFW PBF.
They would have been alright fights. Not great and I really don't think either would end in a KO. It's possible but unlikely. The only problem here is that neither Morales or Barrera were actually that great at this weight. There prime years were well before moving into SFW. They were of course very good but we're talking about fighting Mayweather here. If Mayweather was smaller and older I do believe Morales would have had a very, very good chance of beating him. Morales had a good chance of beating anyone in his prime, as did Barrera.
I think Morales had the skills as well as the necessary speed and fire power to do some good work. Barrera was an animal in his prime also and his combination punching was P4P some of the greatest of the last two decades without a doubt. At times Barrera was one of the best fighters I've seen. Great all around skills and the ability to beat just about anyone with any style.
Nonetheless, if these two fought Mayweather at SFW when he was there it would have ended in a UD decision for Mayweather, both fights.
This is a good post. But I didn't mean SFW Mayweather vs SFW Morales and Barrera. I was talking about 2000-2002 Mayweather vs 2000-2002 Morales and Barrera when Floyd was still at SFW and the 2 were already fighting at Featherweight. I was talking about that time when MAB and EM were actually in their prime and PBF was nearing his prime.
he fought nothing but bums.. he was a "hero" in the phillipines but over here he was just a bum beater...
i hope manny is brushing his teeth or else he will make his groupies commit suicide if he dies.
Is this guy always like this towards Filipinos? Its like he has a personal agenda against us and would always bash a Filipino fighter whenever he gets the chance.
Sad.
