None. All the speculation started when the Mayweathers started sounding off. I think a big indicator of the situation was the fact that the lawsuit Pac filed was settled out of court.
I thought Paulie's big problem is having to hold back because his hands are such a mess?
I agree. I think his 'bad' technique was more a result of him accepting that he couldn't really punch because of his hands. Besides, arm punches are easier to throw so that helped increase his already significant speed advantage over most fighters.
No excuses. Shows loyalty to promoter and corner. Accepts personal responsibility.
Hopefully everyone else will use this as an example on how to handle a situation that doesn't go your way.
Very impressive.
I definitely think the Algeri win was more convincing, but like WesleySnipes said, it was because of the way Bradley chose to fight. I think Bradley beats Algeri, and to be honest in a rematch I think Bradley beats Provo probably 8 - 4.
Kovalev will be too much for Hopkins. He can punch with both hands, works the jab, great power. Legends don't voluntarily retire, they're forced to retire. This would likely be the fight that pushes Bernard out of the game.
It's easy for Rios to look like a destroyer when the guy in front of him doesn't move. I mean...Maidana didn't move his feet or his head, he didn't even have a good stance, he stood in front of him squared up the whole time. Little different when he was in there with Pac-Man.
Lara can be hit, especially with the left hook. GGG punches way too hard. Lara will definitely look good at times and win a few rounds, but GGG could probably get a late round stoppage.
I don't know about C level, seems like you're being kind of rough on him. A C level guy wouldn't have made it through the Khan fight after that body shot in the first round. Anyone who can win multiple rounds against Khan and Mayweather is above C level.
Definitely not interested in this rematch though. If anyone is getting a rematch it should be Cotto.
Which is exactly why Floyd isn't doing it.
The most likely outcome is Mayweather by Decision, but I see a few things that could lead to Mayweather by stoppage. He said he is going to put on more muscle and going to the body early will definitely help him. But the most interesting thing is how he talked about guys being stronger and having more power after working with Alex Ariza. Now he hired him. I think Mayweather's ego is going to have him really trying for an inside the distance victory on this one.
Fight preview and film study
Billy Walter's account vs Banhammer
You guys want to get me banned? You don't like the video that much?
I don't know why guys are against linking to a video on Youtube, I'm not pushing some service or product, and it doesn't link to my site. The video only shows analysis from previous fights, being used for film study, that point out the keys to victory.
Everyone knows how Floyd rolls. Anything he can do to shift things in his advantage, up to and including things that he should have no power to do, he will. Floyd hopes stuff like this, and his ducking of opponents, will be swept under the rug by history.
Him, or anyone else for that matter, can say whatever they want today, but that doesn't make it the truth. Canelo is still really young, unless he retires early there is no way he doesn't have to move up. With the amount of weight he currently cuts it's not a matter of if, but when.
Rios better bring his A-game because Chaves is no joke. Thurman got him out of there but if you watch that fight closely Chaves did some really good work. He's bigger and stronger than Rios, and we all know Rios doesn't like to spend too much energy on defense. A lot of people may not know his name yet, but Chaves could beat a lot of better known fighters. I'm looking forward to this one.
I'm glad to see it too. Both those guys deserve a great big Hip Hip Hooray for taking on a dangerous fighter.
On another note...Gamboa should drop back down to 130 or 126.
