While the thought of that scenario is disturbing, it looks like Teddy is now doing MMA on his show.
I like Teddy and he obviously is knowledegable, but he really shouts a lot in his show. Sometimes really loudly, and it seems like a lot of his show is about heart and motivation and life lessons, not who would win, current stories, or general boxing news.
Also, did anyone get the chance to hear Terrance Crawford talking about covid? Thank god you can fight boy, cuz otherwise life would be a hard road for you.
Also, Jesus, no one cares about Cus Damato anymore. Enough.
I am really looking forward to the next few weeks. I just buy DAZN when there are some AJ or Canelo level fights over a month long period. I think DAZN is worth it if someone watches alot of other sports. They have a pretty good selection.
Manny is a phenom, definitely top 20 of all time...but I do think Ali pretty much surpasses him for cultural significance at a time when boxing was much bigger, and whether we can admit it or not, it
was a lot harder to win titles. I think being the number one heavyweight helps too, the significance of being a heavyweight.
Fight someone witha name please , u can’t duck everyone bro , all boxing fans know u ducking Shawn Porter , Errol and keith , please fight be a man bro
He just doesnt seem to want to fight anyone. His best opponent at ww is the Mean Machine, who at the best is bottom half of the top ten.
No much credit due for Khan.
Jeff Horn wasnt as good as either one. In fact, Jeff should have his license pulled with the amount of punches he is taking.
All the top welterweights have far better wins. Fornella who fought Sean recently isnt any worse than Horn.
Also, even with a pretty bad chin and stamina issues, he could have gotten further with a jab.
For a guy his size, the worst jab in years. Not an exact comparison, but Frank Bruno had some of the same issues as him (chin not as bad as Dave's, noone every sparked Frank with one punch) and developed a really good jab.
Also, Ali stopping Holyfield? WTF?
Think of something interesting to write about, "boxing writers"
Where is Jussie to raise our spirits? Last years black History Month was much better, with Liam Neeson and all those governors all blacked up.
A poor effort this year.
Neither of these guys has fought in like three years.
Good thing there's no weight limit so they can come into the fight like Andy Ruiz.
lol, has anyone heard of Christopher Lovejoy? Im sure he is a nice man, but so am I.
Also, has anyone ever seen Trevor Bryan fight? Anyone?
As I mentioned, people went crazy, they think 25 years old Mike is still around. Im a boxing guy, but even Joe Rogan, who I like, is getting in on it. I am a little disappointed, because he should know combat sports.
It is funny that can remember 1988 but not 2003.
Again, he could look at Thurman, Porter, Manny, Danny, Errol.
These guys seem to find a way to actually fight entertaining, quality fights (sometimes on free tv) with each other.
Ones in which they arent overwhelming favourites.
The Salka fight was a little tough to justify, lol....But his level of competition is pretty much equal to the other guys, with the exception of Manny, and better overall than Crawford's. I know he has had some good luck with decisions here and there, but the competition was solid.
I dont really know or care who the WBO champs are.
Since it was founded in 1990, I never cared. I dont think most other fans care about it either.
I remember in 83 when the IBF was founded. At the time, Gil Clancy said that it was ridiculous, that no one will buy it...then said everyone did. So we had 3.
Now we have the WBO as well.
I remember a lot of the early WBO champs were pretty much Commonwealth level guys.
I British but Brook seems to be the most entitled fighter ever, Khan or no one, now big bucks for Liam, who at least fights. Compare what Shawn Porter has done with his career, since Brook.
While I admit Im a little biased in that I wanted AJ to win
both fights, I like Andy a lot, think he is a good guy and talented too.
But he was fat as hell for the first fight, and he was obviously worse for the rematch. He isn't a very tall heavyweight and he could barely move in the rematch. At least not very well.
Also, while not everyone agrees with Teddy Atlas, he knows his sh-t and he mentioned that the stick and move style AJ used was what Parker used to legitimately beat Andy, though it was close, and Andy still hadn't solved that style.
Also, he doesn't really have anything on his resume besides AJ, and he can't milk it forever.
I actually think Bellew would be a fun fight.
Crawford next up to fall on the p4p list
I have the same feeling....it might not be against Kell but I dont envision a long career for Bud. Of course, if someone brings this up in 2025, and he is still around, then I was joking.
But when you think about it, every great fighter has fought fights where he was the underdog or at the very least, only a slight favorite...Ali, RJJ (admittedly, only Toney comes to mind) Pernell, Jcc sr, Floyd etc.
Look at every single title fight Crawford has. Are there any you would pick against him?
He is a talented guy, but he has also been matched well.
