So much wrong with the performance its hard to know where to start. He became a little left hook happy after his early success and his feet were a lot slower than normal which took his right hand out of range. No doubt he had no sharpness at all which can only be down to preparation. He needs to get focused back on boxing instead of being a global superstar. One thing I do know for certain after last night is that if he tastes a right hand from wilder its game over. I am not saying he couldn't get to Wilder first but that is his only chance.
I had the pleasure or rather pain of sparring josh on a few occasions he was 18 and I was in my 30's. He is one tough hombre!! He has a granite chin and he can defend when he needs to although he certainly left his chin out a couple of times in his first bout. It does happen when you are an attacking fighter though. He was always so grateful of the chances afforded to him in the UK and he truly is a lovely bloke with absolutely no attitude. Last saw him about 18 months ago and he was no different. I know I am biased but he is proud of his roots and is certainly no uncle Tom. To be honest uncle Tom accusations are a bit outdated in the UK as we all seem to get along ok!!
If you won the fight, why were you running like a terrified gazelle for the second part of the fight?? Cuz you were getting brooklyn piss beat out of you and look at your face lol thats why you lost the fight. Faints don’t count in there lol
To be fair Paulie always had that terrified Gazelle look even in his prime. I dont actually believe he was sh#tting himself.
Not denying he is a pampered rich kid but Eddie Hearn actually had 3 amateur bouts and won them all. His dad had him introduced as Eddie Hills as he did not want the other kids knowing he was a Hearn lol.
Let's not forget that Whyte will be getting a good payday v Wallin and it is prizefighting after all. Otherwise he has to wait until March more than likely. Who knows what his spending habits are like!!
I have watched and felt Paulie did actually win 4 out of 5 rounds. He looked old and shot to **** just like he did in the Eggerton fight but he did enough to win imo. I think the myth that bareknuckle punches are harder than a gloved punch needs to be addressed. If you get a soccer ball and kick it barefoot tgen kick it with a boot guess what, the kick with a boot is harder. Your mind knows your foot or hand is protected so you strike harder. If any of you box then just compare the force you get in bagwork with a glove on then throw barefist. Guaranteed you will generate more force with the glove. Forget about the asthetic damage on the face from bare fist.. That is just skin damage. A glove is also a larger surface area which equals more force. The point is that Paulie struggles to hurt people with a gloved fist. He is not going to shake people up with single shots from a barefist. He was always the worst option for barefist and that is not taking into account a 2 year layoff and being shot to ****.
I just had a look at Lobov V Knight highlights out of curiosity. Like two homeless drunks flailing around. I will be very surprised if any form of Paulie does not school him.
