1. Usyk battered him and psychologically demolished him in that 9th round. For an egocentric fighter like Fury that will live inside his mind rent free.
2. Because of that battering his punch resistance has dropped even further. He'll go down easily now and will fight a lot more scared.
3. He was in peak shape and exceptionally well trained for this fight and it wasn't enough. That is so daunting and demotivating when considering a rematch.
4. His mind games and showboating failed completely. Another big weapon and morale booster gone from his arsenal.
5. He's simply not as good as Usyk and never will be. This is another thing that is probably going to live in his head and will absolutely torment him.
I think last night was it for Fury as far as fighting at the top of his game and I'm expecting him to struggle over the next few months as reality sets in.
Whoever wins rematch is best of era. Fury not got unbeaten record now, so might do better in rematch.
Fury might want to prove people wrong
if fury wins its 1 all with usyk
tyson shouldn't have abandoned his body attack. he also should try to back up usyk more.
Usyk was breathing hard after some of the mid rounds. i never seen him tired that early and hit that much but he got a second wind as tyson was getting tired and slowed down.
Tyson also shouldnt have wasted so much energy in the first 3-4 rounds trying to bounce around on his feet that was stupid, that used a lot of energy for little return. HE should have spent his energy on the body attacks.
Lol comments like this are amusing because they show a fundamental lack of understanding of both Fury and fighting.
Fury is a prick, I get it, but he's also a prizefighter. He is that more than anything else. I genuinely don't think he has any other yardstick of greatness other than his own and his desire to get paid. The real reason the fight didn't take place in Wembley last year was because they didn't get paid enough not because of some elaborate fear of Usyk. Nothing in that fight showed a fear of Usyk.
I actually said pre fight that Usyk was the likely victor despite me wanting Fury to win. But the big issue I have with Furys detractors is that, as with much nowadays, a lot of the criticism is creeping into purely subjective territory. Its lame just how much people let their hatred of Fury (no matter how justified) shape their perception.
But usyk comes on strong late rounds, so fury s chance came and went
He didn't want to risk to punch himself out, he was already throwing 30% more than the Wlad fight, Usyk made him work.
I was one of the one doubting that he'd make it to the ring vs Usyk based on his history. But a lot of that defensiveness likely came from defending his 0 and his image as the unbeatable heavyweight champion. That's gone now. All he's got left is money, and maybe trying to get that loss back.
i doubt he will take it but who knows.... people are saying money but he can make plenty against joshua still and then retire after that
not money so?
how about pride?
Fury's not that good, he's just big and won't go down. He's so tall that the ropes are his leverage. You have to choose a large ring, not for running but just for room to lay his tall azz out in. Other than that, he'll just keep bouncing from rope to rope.:rolleyes:
Fury's like a big ogre. He was literally knocked out while still standing in the 9th. They should of let Usyk kick him in the chest to put him down. :lol1:

Hes never really had killer instinct like THAT has he? Hes always been more prone to slowly take guys apart over rush a hurt guy.
And idk that Usyk was THAT hurt to start coming on stronger. In the moment I thought he fooked up his momentum after hurting Usyk the worst he did all night to the body by immediately throwing two low shots that got warnings from the ref anyway.

All great points. Remember that Fury started out saying he wanted the rematch, but by the time he sat down for the post fight presser, he already changed his mind and said he wasn't sure what he was going to do. It's dawning on him hour by hour that he simply can't compete with Usyk. For crying out loud, he head butted Usyk and Usyk had a good cut and didn't even bleed!! That must have crushed Fury's soul right there!
The Furys headbutt people and they themselves bleed
Can see the AJ fight being pushed instead.
Last chance for it to happen now. Still a lot of money in it, a lot more than Usyk.
Best of the rest.
Winner can still face Usyk (if they want to again lol).
When fury had usyk hurt, complaining, wincing and grimacing fury stood back to admire himself? When usyk landed on fury in 9th, he went on to try finish fury.!
Where's killer instinct from fury?

1-He was almost knocked into the shadow realm by Wilder in several fights. It did not live inside his mind afterwards.
2-He already recovered in the rounds after that beating, he didn't even get a bad concussion as far as I know. He'll be fine in the coming months. You don't really understand what type of fights and beatings actually ruin a fighter's durability.
3-This fight was about tactics and certain circumstances, not about who was in the best shape. They were both in great shape.
4-He did his best work when he wasn't taunting. The body punching and his work on the inside.
5-Assumptions
I think you're wrong and/or exaggerating about everything. This rematch is a winnable fight and it was not in any way a one sided affair, a domination or anything like that. Usyk simply had the right momentum in this fight. Fury is very adaptable. He can change up his gameplan and if he avoids getting hit like in the 9th round again, he can win. Hell he was at one point winning almost comfortably untill the momentum shifted.
I think Tyson is on the decline and this is just a hunch but I think for big fellas like him the decline is much sharper then it is for smaller guys his age. I unfortunately don't really have any real proof to back up my theory other then large dogs age faster then small dogs.
