If true, Haney better start chasing after Ryan and Tank for his next fight.
Dan Rafael reports that multiple sources have told him the sell-out fight generated around 150,000 pay-per-view buys via ESPN+ alongside cable and satellite services. The event cost $59.99 to purchase, and was available as part of the regular Sky Sports subscription in the UK.

He just bought it, he paid $300K. It won't go up in value at the rate of a Rolex. Rolex has seen a surge because they became an exclusive brand, You have to get on a waiting list to but certain models now and they limited production. Regardless, if you are only worth $5 million, a $300K watch is not a smart purchase. I'm pretty sure he probably bought a Lambo or Ferrari as well. If his career ended tomorrow he'd be in a panic and taking a loss on these depreciating assets. He is never going to make Mayweather, Canelo, or even Fury money, and he will need to navigate his career very carefully to get the most bang for his buck. He isn't an exciting fighter and he has no charisma. Maybe he will prove me wrong one day but I doubt it.
Yeah they did a segment on GQ where he was showing off his jewelry. I was shocked he already had so much ice so early in his career and not even being that damn good to believe he’ll be some PPV star. They don’t even buy solid gold or verified real diamonds and have their jewelry appraised. Look at Andy Ruiz, broke the bank just to buy depreciating cars and gaudy custom jewelry that will be worth half what he paid for if he’s lucky. Now he’s running out of cash with marital issues and looking for any payday in the ring.
300k for a watch? Not to change the subject too much but did you read about Chad Ochocinco? The dude admitted that he wore fake Jewelry and it saved him a lot of $.
I can totally understand dressing nice but jewelry is a waste. It also turms you into a target.
Smart because a lot these crooked “jewelers” are selling rappers and athletes garbage jewelry for a kings ransom price and getting away with it. Some of them are unknowingly rocking moissanite and silver but paying for diamond and ice prices lol.
Lil Baby purchased a fake Patek for close to half a million lol.
Personality and charisma matter more than talent.
Loma and Haney have more skill in their pinkies than a dude like Rolly has in his whole body.
Rolly makes his fights far more compelling because of his ridiculously outsized ego and irrational confidence.
Makes absolutely no sense.
I mostly agree with this. It's unfortunate. Another aspect is nationalism. Ukraine isn't a big boxing demographic, especially during a war. Fighters like Canelo and Marquez have no charisma or personality but are very successful with the Mexican fanbase which is huge. They also fought big names that helped to elevate their own names in the sport. Haney needs to decide which is more important, legacy or money. If it's money, he'll need to start looking at fights with Ryan Garcia, Tank, Rollie, or the winner of Taylor/Lopez. Maybe be willing to fight overseas more, like he did in Australia. U.K. is a big market for boxing.
Depends what type of watch it is .Even my cheap rolex goes up in price 15% every year. A proper time piece can be an investment plus most of these boxers/ celebs are paid to wear certain timepieces jewellery. Yes the watch he wears is 300k but you don’t know how much he paid for it

You are trying to justify never buying Jewellery for your wife:lol1:
A watch is imperative. Nothing wrong with a slim white gold chain to compensate for the fat stomach
Wtf? Are you trying to insult me?
Mayweather had a lot of charisma and likeable moments even playing the bad guy, Haney not the slightest.
Also skillwise they are two worlds apart. Mayweather was outboxing bigger guys, Haney is not even looking good against smaller fighters.
Haney will never do Mayweather numbers just by beeing unlikeable.
Well yeah you might have a point, even as he started out as "Pretty Boy" Mayweather before acclimating to Welterweight, he was still in the smaller side, aiming against physically big former world champions like Genaro Hernandez and Chico Corrales at 130.

Even against a fan favorite by the public, Haney still did worse than frigging Rolly Romero in PPV sales which speaks volumes.

With Floyd people didn’t tune in just because he was undefeated. People tuned in because we knew he was the real deal. There’s about a half dozen dudes out there that have been undefeated and none of them, besides Tank, have come close to breaking through. Because we have questions about all of them, and Tanks just barely breaking through. People will spend money if you’re the real deal.
I think this shows the truth of the market. I still am not convinced of the so called 1.2m for Tank vs Garcia.. I know both of them are well known and Garcia with a huge instagram base but not 1.2m.
Haney doesn't have the most captivating style, so I am not surprised that he isn't a big draw. If he capitalizes on the public's disdain for him like Mayweather did he might be in the future, though I am not sure if he has the mental fortitude to withstand the ongoing criticism.

Subtract taxes, trainer and manger fees, and the $400k fine for shoving Loma at the weigh-in and Haney will be lucky to clear $2 million for the biggest fight of his career. He’s been spending money like a drunken sailor, just bought a $300K watch. He better get smart with his money.

Obviously not. The two best at 135 just fought for the undisputed title and it flopped. Tank and Garcia are not the best, and they sold over a million. I wonder who Spence/Crawford will do in July. Two of the best WW and P4P fighters.
I’m not sure 150 for Loma vs Haney is a flop. It’s more than what Crawford ever did with a lot less money to guarantee. With the gate financially it’s possible that fight made money.
