3 fights in which majority of the fans think went the wrong way.
Haney - Loma. A p4p battle for undisputed between the older HoF veteran and the young unified camp for the all of the marbles at 135. A strong start for Haney and a strong finish for Loma. The biggest rounds 3,10,11 were for Loma, but many of the rounds could have went either way. Haney had a lot of success to the body, but was never able to impose himself the way Lopez was against Loma. Loma showed the brilliance of his early career in stops but at 36 Loma required rest in many parts include the 12th round. Personal score at live viewing: 115:113 Loma. Could have went either way.
GGG - Canelo 1. A fight years in the making. The unstoppable GGG against the rise star in Canelo for middle weight supremacy. Boxing lure of Canelo giving up belts to avoid GGG years prior. Canelo forced to fight backwards for the first time in his career. GGG successful in many rounds, but unable to to put the kind of sustained pressure on Canelo we are used to. Difficult fight to score, where I felt the GGG rounds were clearer. Personal score at live viewing: 114:114 Draw. Could have went either way, but upon rewatching I scored it for GGG every time.
Kovalev - Ward 1. The battle of the undefeated warriors. P4P #1 on the line. Kovalev on a monster run. KOs over Pascal twice, Clevery and outboxed Bhop. Ward as winner of the super 6, KO over reigning light heavy Weight camp Dawson, boxing master. A career defining fight. Kovalev comes out as the Krusher that he is, knocking down Ward in the second round winning at probably 4 of the first 5 rounds. Ward makes a valiant comeback to win a sizable portion in the second half. Personal score at live view: 116:111 Kovalev. Competitive but clear Kovalev win, watched the fight a few times and don't really know how you could score it for Ward.
I always like to look to OBJECTIVE means to determine these types of thing.
Haney/Loma & Ward/Kovalev were not robberies if you're looking at the objective Compubox numbers.
GGG/Canelo however was an absolutely robbery by objective numbers with GGG outlanding Canelo in 10 of 12 rounds and then tying Canelo in 1
I don't think Ward- Kova 1 was particularly close, but it was definitely competitive. On first viewing I had GGG-Canelo 1 a draw, in subsequent viewings I had GGG winning the fight.
GGG won the first fight so easy Canelos own fans booed him at the post fight in ring interview. You can argue the second fight was closer because Canelo was very good in the first 4 rounds.
Kovalev humiliated Ward. Disgusting decision. That was my vote. GGG schooled Canelo, but not to the extent of Mayweather/Canelo. A draw, while questionable, wasn’t entirely outside the realm of reality, but GGG ultimately looked better. Loma won against Haney, but too close in my view to be a true robbery.
I can't see how ward won 7 rounds, i just can't, kovalev won 8 rounds every time I've watched it. Maybe I'm wrong but kovalev looked a clear winner to me.
Even rounds are a cop out. The only way a round should be even is if someone lands the same amount of punches and it is 2 or 3 (or something like that that is obvious) or no one does anything at all. Some of you guys are just giving out even rounds because the guy you're a fan of lost the round and you don't want to admit it haha
i meant doing even rounds if you are scoring a fight live(as the judges and many on here do). its easy to go back and score rounds to be more precise but giving a round to a guy just because you like him is what is going to happen when a round is even somewhat close, so the best course of action is to score it even so you aren't being biased. when i go rewatch ward kovalev kovalev won 8-9 rounds, when scoring it live maybe you would give ward more rounds because you thought he was doing better than he actually was.
ward kovalev was truly awful. i can see kovalev winning 9 rounds in that fight, even being super generous to ward he only wins 6 so he still loses. ggg and loma deserved to win but super generous to canelo and haney you could score them a draw. ward has no real case. if you are scoring even rounds which more people should do, kovalev ward would be something like 7 rounds to 3 with 2 even, ggg canelo would be 6 rounds to 4 with 2 even and haney loma would be something like 5 rounds to 3 with 4 even

Kovalev-Ward 1 because Ward switched from boxing to holding and wrestling in that fight.
you guys keep talking about clinching and holding. I hate it as well, but the greatest hw of all time made a career out of it and no one says anything about it 50 years later. Ali's fights after coming back from exile were filled with a bunch of clinching and rabbit punches. I'm definitely not a fan of it, but if a fighter can't stop someone from doing it to them, they need to blame their trainer. Clinching is a part of boxing whether we like it or not. Ali made a career out of it when he came back. John Ruiz made a career out of it after Tua flattened him. Holyfield after he got older did it a LOT. Twist the arms(illegal), uppercuts, pivoting, hip shots(illegal) will stop a lot of that sh*t.

None of these 3 fights was a robbery, the worst decision amongst them was Kovalev-Ward 1. I thought the Loma-Haney fight could have went either way, there were 2-3 really close rounds that you can argue went for either fighter.
Pac vs Bradley was a robbery. The Lewis-vs Holyfield draw as one of the worst decisions of all time and a robbery. These 3 fightss were all close fights where a few rounds we very close and could have gone either way, those just aren't robberies. Even Loma fans whining since Saturday admit they're giving Loma rounds that could have went the other way.
You think GGG/Nelo and Kov/Ward were close? GGG and Kov were clearly robbed.
I think Loma beat Haney and i'm a Haney fan BUT I don't thikn it was quite a robbery. There were at least 5 rounds which could go either way.

kovalev-ward and to top it off the ref stopped the rematch after a 5 punch combination to the balls. Kovalev was in shock, he thought he was going to get his 5 minutes and the ref is like "no son thats a knockout thats how we do it for team ward"

You're forgetting that, in a fair and just world, Haney would have had at least one point deducted for repeateadly rabbit punching Loma during the clinch over and over again
I was seriously worried that Loma would become another Prichard colon with all the disgusting rabbit punching, blatantly allowed by the biased referee, who gave Haney multiple warnings but did jack shit else
Loma was a victim of racial and nationalist bias. Kovalev-Ward all over again. Black american vs white foreigner.
They were never gonna give him the win unless he KO'd Haney or beat him from pillar to post. A close fight was always gonna be given to the local fighter
It was a close but clear Loma win (moreso if Haney had been deducted a point for his dangerous fouling, as he should) but that was never gonna fly

Floyd thought Ward lost, too.
You need Wilder/Fury 1. Arguably the most blatant.
Fury beat the long count in the last seconds of the fight, so draw is ok.
I have a hard time having real conversations with the emotionally invested.
Right €because what I just said was really emotional. I have a hard time talking to someone who as the personality of a rock :lol1:
