Is ducksquad at it again?
This fight was ordered to become WBC mandatory yes? Both fighters with PBC.
Now Wilder has priced himself out and suddenly a free agent?
I don't blame him, Ruiz is all wrong for him. But its still not a good look for Wilder.
I never called Wilder a coward. He has guts. I genuinely believe that he believed he could beat Fury, which is the only reason he kept going back to him.
However, he doesn't believe he can beat any other elite heavywe.......
Cowards duck fighters
Are we talking about the same Andy Ruiz :dunno:
Wilder can`t afford a loss to somebody not named Fury.
So don`t expect him to fight somebody like Ruiz, Sanchez, Joyce...he won`t fight these guys.
He will fight Ngannou or cash out for another loss to Fury and retire.
Wilder understood his true value when 40 years old Ortiz nearly knocked him out in their first fight. he is not stupid.
Did the threadstarter abandon his own thread?
Dumb thread anyway.
Wilder demanded a rematch with a guy who just KO'd him.
Not really how a coward acts.

However, he doesn't believe he can beat any other elite heavyweight. He ran from Whyte, AJ and now Ruiz even though it's an easy fight to make. He also used the 'nobody knows him' excuse when Usyk called him out a couple of years ago.
And dont to to me about Luis Ortiz. Ortiz was 50 years old with no notable wins himself and boxed Wilders head off for two fights - that's nothimg for Wilder to be proud of.
Pricing yourself out of a fight is essentially DUCKING a fight dude.
No other promoter is going to pick up the tab for a fight where BOTH fighters are aligned with a rival promoter....therefore Wilder vs Ruiz isnt happening which = A DUCK,period.
And that "reassurance" he gave about him still being aligned with PBC/Haymon wasn't all that convincin ,especially with that " as far as I know" statement. PBC/Haymon,like Showtime not too long ago,is essentially telling him "you're not worth it"......not surprising considering his ppv with Helenius bombed.
that is not always the case, I personally don't think Wilder is somehow afraid of or is trying to duck up on a Ruiz fight and I'm sure Ultimately something big will be worked out to make it happen but it sounds more to me that he want something huge with a huge Guarantee which could indeed by a Exhibition with Francis Ngannou. Opening the door to other Platforms looking for the highest Bidder it is nothing wrong with that either
things will get sorted out, fight will get announced and the people accusing Wilder of ducking will just disappear and none of them will dare put their money where their mouth is and actually bet that "The Guy Wilder Ducking" will actually stand a chance at beating him

I dont see a whole lot of money that Wilder is accustomed too. Personally i think Ruiz is very hit-able and Fury hits Wilder easier (size/reach) than Ruiz. This isnt a good match up for Ruiz, even though he has great hand speed with a decent pop.
Probably just don’t want anything to do with any title shot soon . If he defeats Ruiz he’s facing Usyk or Fury ,he’s not going to want Usyk and probably never wants Fury again ? I’d say he’s either trying for Ngannou which is his biggest payday outside Joshua or he’s wants another easy touch somewhere else for now to keep his name out there ? A surprise opponent could be his own brother who he said he’d fight in the past wouldn’t be shocking either to add to that great resume ? Lol
His glass jawed brother?
Marcellos must need to move out of Wilder's mansion..

Good to know this is a fight you guys would give Wilder credit for. Bookmarked.
You know they're gonna call Andy a fatass washed-up guy after Deontay drops him stone cold.
I never said Wilder shouldn't fight Ruiz. The heavyweight division is garbage; four or five names deep at best. If he can't get Usyk, Fury, or Joshua it doesn't really matter who he fights because everybody else sucks including Ruiz, the ghost of Ortiz, Joyce, DuBois, Hrgovic, Anderson, Whyte, etc.
Well, ok, lets say I agree with that.
Outside top 3-4 guys all others are around the same level.
I am asking you who should Wilder fight next if not Ruiz.
Fury and Ngannou are laughable options..

Luis Ortiz twice. He deserved the win against Ruiz, who looked absolutely horrible in that fight. And that was a version of Ortiz that was three years older and more washed than the guy Wilder knocked out for the second time. Ruiz couldn't even convincingly beat a 43 year old shot fighter on rubber legs. Ortiz won 8 clean rounds and the 2nd knockdown wasn't a real knockdown.

Tell me who is better opponent for Wilder. And please, don`t say Fury, I don`t want to see Wilder beaten again.

I don't think Wilder is scared per se. It's just that if he does lose to Ruiz, then where does he go? he's probably hoping to land an AJ fight soon or at least a world title shot without putting the work in.
Also Ruiz being mexican means that fight would do big numbers on ppv. So if they're offering Wilder $5m he probably thinks it isnt enough.
He got dropped by freaking Chris Arreola. He hasn't looked good in a fight since the Joshua win. He's not the same guy anymore.

I thought Andy won, as did most people, including the judges.
Andy has one of the best chins in boxing. If Wilder can't stop Andy, Andy wins on points by a lot.

Having been rejected by Showtime probably hurt his feelings and he doesn't want to go back. It was the time when he waxed poetic about loyalty, and Showtime was included in that loyalty poetry. Then he was forced to move to Fox, but Fox is no longer in the picture. The situation has become complicated for him.
Saying Ruiz can`t beat Wilder because he "struggled" with Arreola and Ortiz is very casual opinion. So Wilder also thought Fury was an easy pick because he looked like a sh.it in comeback fights. So Canelo thought Bivol was easy because he looked "nothing special".
Ruiz is a very tough fight for Wilder. And Wilder knows that. And if he wins, that will be his best win so far.
