Why do I have to see them complain so hard about Usyk-Joshua II being a couple bucks more than usual and 10 bucks for Canelo-GGG III? That's like 10 American dollars, right?
There is a difference between GDP(nominal)/capita and GDP(PPP)/capita. The latter takes into account cost of living. Quite interesting if you look at the list - not that much difference between the US and UK and many EU countries.

Taken in isolation you're right, but for the overall model it makes sense to have it on PPV in all regions. As I said previously, just don't buy it and listen on 5-Live on your earbuds in bed, which is what I'll probably do. If it's a classic I'll pay and watch in the morning.
It doesn’t make sense to have it PPV in all regions whatsoever. DAZN would likely attract far more subs by showing this fight as part of the subscription package and then that gives you a chance to retain those subs. By putting it behind a pay wall you’re massively limiting that opportunity. DAZN’s goal is to attract a consistent subscribers, not one and done buyers.
I mean obviously people in the US make more money due to many factors, including cost of living. The pricing stateside has always just been so much higher compared to the UK so while paying $30 bucks or so for a PPV here would be seen as a GREAT deal, it's not seen the same way over there. Any price increase will get more of a reaction in the UK.
This was from 2021 so the numbers could be a bit off but the average salary for doctor's in the UK was $138,000 while the average doctor stateside was making $318,000. Then you look at other fields like RN's and it is even worse.
The point is that yes, folks in the UK make less money so you have to price accordingly. Would you say they are poor? No, because the cost of living is also cheaper in a lot of ways. Should there be much complaining about upping the price of Usyk/AJ by a few bucks? Probably not but I can see why they are a bit ticked at paying for the Canelo/GGG III fight when it will be coming on at 5 am.
They always get a better deal than the USA. The whole world gets a better deal, most countries show boxing for free while in the USA it's PPV.
I don't think they are poor, but after the price is raised once it will surely continue to raise until they are paying some 50 or 60 British pounds for a fight they used to watch for 10. They know where this is headed.
This one right here.. Same with shows, few years ago they were much cheaper. Now the prices are same like you have a VIP table (small local shows not huge fights)
TBH yeah, the UK as a rich and powerful economy but the GDP per capita is surprisingly low. Lower than Ireland too I think. Wages here are very poor.
£26.95 sounds reasonable and in line with inflation.
I always respect how the UK area fans and other Euros stay up till 5am for the US main events of name boxers to start. Your cards here start 10 or 11am pacific my time. Not a boxing time for me. Sometimes I side watch them, unless the Great Katie Taylor is fighting. I sit for that one with coffee and a joint of my best kush.
Yeah, the hardcore here are hardcore alright. I'll watch the fight, the post fight interviews/analyses, then head to bed, which can be as late as 6, wake up at 12/1, then get back one normal schedule for the rest of the week. The massive time differences does stop boxing being an even bigger commercial sport. If main even was like midnight, they would be a much bigger UK audience for the USA fights, but the time difference between countries is just too big for that.
Any event of note, the Great Nash has to watch live. If it's a small event, happy to watch the highlights/check result the next day, but that's only for lesser fights. Nash out.
1hour can only dream of being American.
Tbh I pity the man, whilst us Brits and Americans have a rich boxing culture to look back on, 1hour only has bums like Lucas Browne.
I guess that's why he likes watching midgets and women so much.
Who is Lucas Browne and where is he from? If it's that bold, white heavyweight, I actually like him too. Tough guy.
The same Brits who are claiming that the PPV is too expensive will still spend £50 on beer and £70 for a gram of coke.
Very true. Same crap here. Even more. And maybe a couple of hundreds on a working woman, if they can afford it.
You have by far the worse obesity problem. I've been to America four times and saw fat slobs everywhere.

More like Americans willing to pay for inferior goods. Ruiz Ortiz PPV costs $40 which is actually almost half the Canelo or Spence PPV cost but actually $40 more than it should be.
Americans seem not to understand that when we pay PPV for an American card, we are not watching it at 10/11pm, but at 4/5am, and only the hardcore base are going to be awake, the likes of Nash. I think Joshua vs Usyk 2 is around $37, but we are not used to paying higher prices here so people won't take it. Forget the cliches about England, it's highly likely nothing like you imagine, and approx 0.1% of England speak the Queens English. And less than 5% speak anything like English people speak on American TV shows and movies. Coffee is almost as popular as tea, and I can't even remember the last time I saw somebody eat a crumpet or a scone. Nash out.

They charge the maximum they can get away with and still sell well in each country. For you Yanks they know you’ll pay anything, so rip you off with 70 and 80 dollar events. Us Brits just won’t pay anything like that, even the £27 for AJ-Usyk is pushing it and I’ll just stream it for free.
Of course, there’s also the time difference and the fact that your prime time events are 4 and 5am for us, which severely limits who’s going to actually watch it as well. AJ-Usyk doesn’t have that issue though so they’re charging a bit more.
Tiny Country compared to the U.S., you add the UK to the American Map I think it would be something like the 12 Biggest STATE within the United States

so naturally it is going to be far more expensive here so this comparison that some fans try to make is laughable actually because it is far more expensive to distribute to far more people
not about being poor though, I think anytime prices goes up for anything fans are going to have questions as WE should
