Can someone explain what the judges in Canelo-Bivol were doing exactly?

Judges automatically thought canelo was gonna win the rounds, afew miss punches n fan cheers = round won

Doing what they do best- trying to rob a fighter.

Out of all of those scorecards, the judge who had trout down 8-0 maybe the the worst. I actually thought Canelo won the Trout fight with the knockdown but I get what you’re sayin. To me the worst is the draw one judge gave him vs Floyd.

I would really like to believe that boxing isn’t that crooked but some of the favorable scorecards (117-111 in the Lara fight, all three of the scorecards in the first ggg fight even the draw and the card ggg got, and 115-113 on all three in the Bivol) makes me highly suspect. I just can't believe he dropped an official decision. Then again, I wonder if him being a free agent promotionally will come back to haunt him. If he was 100% aligned with DAZN still (or another network) I doubt they let him drop a decision like that. As it is now, they have no real money tied up in him so they won't be pulling as many strings for him. I certainly can’t explain it. 118-110 with Canelo winning the 4th and the 9th. There’s absolutely a pattern of Canelo getting gift scorecards consistently. Makes you wonder if all Canelo opponents need to figure that they’re down 4-0 before the opening bell. I just can't believe he dropped an official decision. The judges did everything they could for nelo, if nelo had actually managed to make any of the last 3 rounds close they would have given him a draw. Difference between this and say gg1 and fights like ward kov is that a lot of people swear blind that both nelo and ward won those fights or at the very least drew, can u see anyone swearing blind that nelo won or drew that fight even if he had managed to make one of the last 3 rounds close? I think the official result ends up making those opinions more valid. I don't recall anyone thinking Ward won when I watched that fight live. After he officially won, those who wanted him to win are able to have more ground to stand on. On that note, let's see what happens with the opinions of Canelo fans with this fight over the next few months. They may start to say 'well the judges had it 7-5, so did I, it could have been a draw' etc. Canelo-GGG was a bit different because you never know what to expect in a Canelo fight with the judges. But I was truly shocked by the Ward-Kov1 scorecards.

If you are going to fix the fight, why would they leave it one round short of a result for Canelo? You give Canelo the first 4 rounds on each card, and none of them could find 2 of the remaining 8 to slide his way as well? Obviously Bivol deserved the win, I just can't understand why the judges did a halfway fix. It's like they got new instructions after round 4 and decided to not fix the fight. I guess I'm a cynic because I think Canelo won some rounds officially vs GGG that were just as clear against him as some rounds vs Bivol. But I see your point. I dont care how it looked on paper at the end of the day the right guy won a unanimous decision. History is in the books that way is all that matters

Judges tried hard... All gave rounds 1 to 4 to Ginger which is a felony... Then they realized they couldn't do it anymore because the face of boxing would be tarnished forever... They had to bail out of the "conspiracy"... :cool:

steve weisfeld, dave moretti and tim cheatham did their job to provide an escape route for the ginger minge. had clenbut---canelo recieved and accidental headbutt or elbow it goes to the score card. namely the first four rounds. aint that a biarch

The first 4 rounds were close. This is undeniable. Canelo won round 9. They clearly gave Canelo all the close rounds. Which is standard for a Canelo fight. It’s bs

There is no way in hell that Canelo won the first four rounds. His punches were not landing on the scoring area. The judges all of them need to be fired.. The scoring was ludicrous.

They waited until the fight ended, than threw the real score cards though the window and made up that sh.it to make a rematch more interesting. I just don`t believe all 3 judges scored it identically. It never happens.

It's like they try to score it so it's close in case Canelo got knocked down or something, they could call a draw. Didn't work since he got dominated. Bivol is legit.

Interestingly, after the 5th round or so, the commentators also quickly started talking about Bivol. lol. It's like they were given the go ahead.... "alright, looks like Bivol will win and judges won't screw him." Then look at Porter, that female boxer, and Danny Jacobs.... went from "Easy canelo win" to "Bivol outboxed him and I knew that would happen."
