Will there ever be another African American boxing superstar like Floyd? What will it take for an African American boxer to become a superstar in the United States?
Crawford, Wilder, and Spence should've been at least on the level of Cotto when it comes to personality but for some reason, they haven't been able to reach it. Grevonta Davis has the ability but he still hasn't defeated a great fighter. Ennis, Shakur. Davis and Haney are talented but I don't think they are being marketed correctly. Is Floyd the last Superstar African American boxer that we will ever see? What will it take for an African American boxer to become a superstar in the United States?
Why exactly does it gotta be African American? Why cant it be a blue haired Irishman or a chinaman from Russia? Why we gotta bring race and region into a world wide sport? Is it not enough to just have a friggin superstar boxer that brings even the most casual of fans?

Weird question. I don't understand your premise. Clearly, it's a loaded question, or at least it assumes racism. Right?
So Floyd Mayweather was a very popular and successful boxer.
But to you, he was just a very popular and successful black boxer. And since no other black boxer has been able to fill his shoes, as of yet, there will never be another very popular and successful black boxer like him?
You posted this nonsense for gaslighting purposes, right? It's like clickbait, just to get people to comment, except it's so divisive and nonsensical.
Floyd was Floyd. Like him or not, he was remarkable at his job, boxing and promoting himself. Tough to find another one like him... black, white, brown, green, or whatever.
Mendoza invented boxing defense and was Jewish during the inquisition back when movement was seen as cowardly. He antagonized the Christian populace in editorials in papers and then invented the practice of charging tickets for seats at a fight. Prior, purses were paid by bets not gates..
You can't make this stuff up. This just writes itself.

Wilder Crawford and Spence are big stars, as is Shakur and Davis. Haney sucks and is a boring fighter with no power and a scumbag racist
The thing is, while these are big stars, of course they arent on Mayweather level. Mayweather is TBE, the man is a legend in the sport of boxing, he mastered the craft, he had a great resume, he brought massive revenue, he had the skills, early on he had the exciting KOs as well, later it turned into people wanting to see him lose and him boxing square circles around guys.
There is levels to this game and Floyd is one of those once in a lifetime talents and stars that we gonna have to wait a while to see, African american or not!
You stupid motherfu""cker you don't think anybody told these guys if they are willing to act like a complete jimmie walker as jj on good times, shucking and jiving, attention whoring clown like Money with the over the top Gucci clown suits that they could increase their earning potential.
You take away Floyds sellout coon gimmick and he would be another Hopkins or Ward or even Pernell and Pernell my boy. Good spoilers who need the other guy to bring the money. They would be walking out the arena like they did when he was Pretty Boy serving up stinkers against Baldymir.
Its Floyds ability to sell the fight dude. Why you think those guys hated Merchant so much because Merchant kept it a buck on those mofos. The fights themselves are horrific and totally unmemorable only to ballwashers like you. The job is done once you bought the ticket or ordered the ppv because its definitely going to be a cherrypicked opponent who can't throw a good jab right hand
Why do you think Floyd is a coon.
Lol the current crop don't know how, they cant think outside the box and make it work, you don't become a Floyd Mayweather by luck there is a genius inside the buckdancing coon that makes you as dumb as a rock.

Eventually yes. For now, we have some good fighters but they are boring outside the ring. No charisma or fan appeal. Spence sounds like he is talking in his sleep, Crawford has a very business like demeanor, Tank sounds like he is on the spectrum, Wilder was just crazy and said strange things, Charlo brothers are all flash and no substance. There is nothing very likable or exciting about their personalities and no one cares enough about any of them to see them as a villain. Floyd was a hype machine, you either loved or hated him.
This is true but you also have to have outstanding ability to perform at your best every fight, that was the key that made Floyd so big, he could talk the talk and he kept backing it up by beating everyone and he did it for his entire career, that complete package is rare, and its the complete package that made Floyd as big as he was, the timing was right also as was the Manny rivalry, the passing of the torch from Oscar, the rise of Canelo, beating the baddest man on the planet was Connors catchcry, it is all accumulative to the notoriety of Floyd so fate had a lot to do with it which makes it very hard to repeat it self in the same way.
Until he fought Fury, no one knew how Wilder was outside or a few die-hard PBC fans. Mark Kreigel walked with him along Times Square and he was barely recognized by anyone. People on the street were asked about him and thought he was a basketball player. Lol.
Without African American fighters, America has nothing.
It was the first Wilder fight that made Tyson Fury a star. Fury was not elevated to superstardom after his Kiltschko win.
It was the trilogy with Wilder which propelled him to superstardom.
Deontay Wilder is one of the biggest characters in the game. He is bigger than all the other African america fighters you have mentioned.
In fact I think he is the biggest American fighter in all weight classes.
Deontay Wilder actually has a loyal fan base, and abroad people appreciate him.
Apart from Wilder, I would say Spence Junior is my other favorite African American fighter.

Not sure why people are mocking African american fighters.
It is only African American fighters that are carrying the sport of boxing for America.
Take all these African American fighters out of the game, and America has nothing.
Alvarez is not american.
We have had Spence, Crawford, and Wilder. With their talent, you would expect them to be at least Cotto level. It hasn't happened.
They're all better than Cotto
