Why isn’t it ok for some of us to dislike boxers? This same topic comes up regularly- it’s either “Spence fans” or “ Floyd fans. This is coded language. It generalizes and suggests we all have the same feelings about a boxer which isn’t true in any way. There is never the same questions or criticism directed to any other group of “ boxer fans”. They are free to like and dislike whomever they wish. They also aren’t assumed to think alike. Lets hope this kind of disgraceful stereotyping of just one group stops. I try not to dislike a fighter based on their fans. They have no control over that. I know what you mean though, I often wouldn't mind seeing a fighter lose just to shut their annoying fans up. That's kind of hating a fighter due to their returded fans :lol1: I don't understand what disconnects their ''brains'' from common sense and reality ? How can a super fan talk about anyone's resume when their guy has a shltty one ? How can a super fan demand one guy do something they wouldn't press their guy in doing ? For me, it's usually super fans that make me hate the fighter. GGG, Pac and Fury have the most hypocritical, double standard having, excuse making fans in all of sports. Of the 3, I hate Pac the least. GGG and Fury have absolutely shltty resumes Pac has a few ''good'' wins under his belt. I try not to dislike a fighter based on their fans. Beterbiev probably would have been dead at the very least not fighting at the top level after such a accident. Fighting at the top thats his strong will and determination. These people aren't fan of guys like ggg because ggg is doesn't take many tough fights, is a huge hypocrite, a huge liability at DAZN, and a liar, never showed any desire or drive to challenge himself. I like Erroll, i'm a big fan of such fighters. G had more power punch for punch so if you hit him once you were going to see stars. It remains to be seen how effective HE will be since Ugas was able to land very cleanly on him, and he struggled at times but still give him the benefit of the doubt. But I'll be rooting for Erroll however I like Crawford as well. The competition level at LHW is lower than at WW so Spence might even be better than Beter (or worse, since both are undefeated so I do not know their ceiling).

If a fighter is really good and has me in awe, I don’t care where they’re from. Tyson Fury won me over. I like Beterbiev. GGG did what he had to do for someone who blew up at 30 due to poor choices in promotional companies and management (?). I thought Spence was done and I was disappointed at his drunk driving. But he won me over again as a fan with his performance over Ugas. As a boxing fan, I am very performanced-based, resume wise. Who did you beat and how. That is how I am won over by a boxer. If GGG was latino or black I still would not care about his resume. Just like I don’t care for Benavidez resume or for Charlo’s resume, or Crawford’s resume. But I like Canelo because Canelo’s career is undeniably great. Just like Lomachenko. Tyson Fury. Mayweather. Etc. Many fans are race-based, region-based. And they think everyone else is like that, they are projecting their own racist ways on other fans.

Spence by 32 has 2 great KO wins over Ugas and Brook. 3 rather lackluster (in their own ways) decisions over Porter, and the 2 Garcias. Then he has a few good wins in my book over Van Heerdan, Algieri, and Peterson. That's 8 wins over quality or better fighters. For me GGG had a deeper run but Spence's was tougher on the top end, but some of that maybe was because GGG was more dominant than Spence too. This thread makes no sense,Ggg is 40, Beterbiev is like 37 or some sh.. Spence just turned 32,hes has already fought actual champs at his weightclass 3x now & is going for#4 v a p4p ww champ. Compare that to Ggg at age 32 or Beterbiev at the same age. Let me ask all of those guys something - do you have a very similar opinion of Spence as a boxer compared to guys like Beterbiev or GGG? If not, then you have your answer of why certain people support certain fighters, and you guys are part of the problem you're complaining about. All 3 of those guys have had very similar amateur successes (Spence being the least successful of the 3), very similar pro successes (mostly dominant wins at 1 weight class), and very similar styles in the ring (relentless, big punching, hard working, pressure fighters with good fundamentals, easy enough to hit, but hard to hurt), and similar styles outside the ring (head down, not too much into the limelight). And the one of the 3 with the most baggage on a personal level is Spence, with the drunk driving stuff and that crash. So I could understand how people were turned off from him from that. I certainly was. It even affected how I viewed him as a fighter, he seemed like he was letting himself go. I even went from having him top 3-5 pfp and as a clear winner over Bud, to picking Crawford over him h2h in a span of about a year. Absolutely ridiculous to see so many of the biggest haters on here, playing the victim and complaining about why people don't like Spence as a fighter. Yet they aren't fans at all of guys like AB and GGG who are very similar fighters...hmmm I wonder why. Stop the pity party, or drop the bias yourselves. No one wants to read that sh.it. I don't really see how anyone can hate on what Fury has done as a fighter. Travels everywhere, never at home, beat Wlad (if you want to call that a win; it was a very uneventful fight) and then the 3 Wilder fights were all very impressive in their own way. I can't name too many HWs ever who would go 3-0-1 in those 4 fights. He is sloppy and wins only due to his size advantages. Can't blame any HW who has a terrible resume because this is an absolutely abysmal HW era. His fans are atrocious. Saying he's the ATG. Mocking everyone's resume when his is the weakest. Traveling, shmaveling....if a guy is robbed on the road like Pac was (vs future HOFer Horn), it was meant to be. Not too many fight fans gave Wilder any props until AFTER Fury beat him. Now he's a legitimate scalp.....

I'm a fan of Errol Spence, I'm a fan of Terrence Crawford. If I believe Crawford wins its not because I hate Spence it's because I believe Crawford wins.
