Looks like both teams have come to an agreement! This could/should lead to Tank vs Garcia for the end of the year as well. RJJ-94-02=GOAT
I asked a few weeks back but since now the fight is done, who you guys got?
I think Rosado has only had fights stopped via cuts. He is tough as nails
I think Angulo dropped him and stopped him but yeah, usually the ref has to stop it because of the accumulation of punishment or his eyes cut up.
Munguia not being able to stop him isn't that big of a deal. Not an easy guy to stop at all.
It's hard to say because they share 2 common opponents I believe. And each guy dominated vs the one guy, and then had a (much) worse than expected outing vs the other guy. And they did that in opposite fights.
Charlo killed Hogan, while Mungia apparently lost. And Charlo struggled vs a guy Mungia KOed in 2 rds 4 years ago.
Who knows. I think Charlo is a bit more skilled but I think Mungia has more heart. Not a knock on Charlo, he is a dog too. But Mungia is a throwback fighter imo. Should be a good fight I think.
Could be a combination of everything and not having the same fire he once did but Rosario is no pushover is the main point. He's tough and he's going to bring it. Even when he got stopped by GGG, he did not get dropped once (IIRC) and the corner had to stop the fight. Very tough and proud guy.

If you want to use drained as an excuse for Montiel, how do you know Charlo was not drained himself since he struggled to make weight last camp? Again, these things can be twisted to make any sort of argument that favors your position.
It's going to be competitive. I would be surprised if either gets stopped but it's going to come down to Charlo's gas tank in the later rounds and if Munguia can outwork him or not.
FOTY type of match up.
He stopped him in 2 rds & was only 20 yrs old, theres no need to spin anything. Charlo is the one who fought a guy who has been overweight & part time journeyman & he was in prime at best division
I'm saying drained v Hogan because Munguai fought him at 154,& he moved up to mw because he was drained, known fact he looks better at mw now, ergo was draining at jmw.(not hard to deduce)
Just accept it,Mall looked awful last fight v a guy he said hed blast out(after his best win Deryev who should've elevated him to A level) & Munguai at his worst blasted him in 2,
If it wasn't for Malls last fight, hed be a much bigger favorite
Very solid fight if true.
Edge to Charlo based on experience and fundamentals.
But Munguia has a style that can wear you down through sheer attrition which in Charlo's last fight looked like what was happening. If Munguia can find a way to take some of the sting off of Charlo's jab and avoid taking major damage he has a good shot.
Because Charlos supposed to be at his best his last fight 1 after his best win,& Munguai beat him in 2 rds while weightdrained at 22 not at his best. Charlo can win this, but depends which Mall shows up, Munguais looking much better than I ever thought possible imo,I thought hed be a lifelong bum
I would have to take Munguai by close SD,or even a draw or Mall by 1 pt(a true 50/50),I think Munguais having a good moment

I haven't even made a pick for this fight btw...If you are under the impression I am picking Charlo.
So if the Hogan fight does not apply for Munguia, why would a fight against Montiel two years prior apply for him?
Munguia is a good fighter getting better...He is VERY live in this fight.

Its not the same, you're not getting it..
Mall was prime & it was his last fight,
neither of which apply to Hogan who was when Munguai was 22 & drained,& it wasn't eithers last fight which is very important,
as they say you're only as good as your last performance(it doesn't matter 100% but it helps Munguai),& Munguai is coming off 2 better wins(how the fights went+combined together v Malls last 2,Deryevs a better opponent than Munguais last 2 rank wise) & is looking more like hes improving each fight in certain ways & hasn't peaked,
he got the ko v Ballard his last fight & showed hes learning to use his feet,& he flurried perfectly; as I have been saying for ages fighters should flurry far more often to get the stoppages oftentimes fighters aren't getting by playing it safe.

If you want to say Mall looked like sh^t vs Montiel, that is fine, Judge Mall off that performance, no problem...But using what Munguia did against Montiel and comparing it to Charlo means very little...Since the same damn scenario but the opposite played out when both fought Hogan.

1st off stop acting like I'm saying Munguai is good, & you're obviously missing the pt entirely.(I'm not saying hes favorite nor that hes better than Mall, I'm saying its bs to pretend Mall looking sht v his leftovers his last fight don't matter, especially since Munguai has improved in many aspects & Rosado he faced is better than 99% of Malls resume)
Charlo in his LAST fight looked like sht v a 20 yr old sht version of Munguais leftovers,& you are bringing up Hogan who a 22 yr old Munguai fought BEFORE prime Charlo,& that was 3 yrs ago,
And Montiel Was a worse version because in his own words he hadn't even been taking boxing seriously for yrs,& its common sense in boxing that the more losses a fighter has, esp. by ko,the worse it makes them especially if they are fat & out of shape as Montiel had been taking last min fights part time.
So lets sum this up
Munguai v Montiel (20 yrs old kod Montiel in 2 at Munguais worst while drained,Prime peak Charlo couldn't & looked sht v his leftovers & after Montiel had multiple wars/losses even though he promised an easy ko)
Hogan v Munguai was 1 fight before Charlo faced him & Munguai was still drained af & only 22 yrs old,so that has far less bearing on anything in comparison to Charlos last fight v a C-/D level & enormous underdog.

In what world was Montiel a better version vs Munguia? How can you say that? Like how do you know one way or another if he was better?
Munguia, two years later while being a better version of himself struggles vs Hogan. So how did that happen? A better version of Munguia compared to the man that knocked Montiel out in two rounds goes out and struggles vs Hogan....Who gets destroyed by Charlo in his next fight?
Again, these triangle theories ain't it like that.....

Triangle theories are not worthless, they just aren't a be all end all. Theres a difference.
In this case it does matter imo because Munguai was complete sht as a 20 yr old & still blasted Montiel out(a better version),& Mall is in his peak prime but still looked completely sht v Montiel & despite promising a ko went 12,so while it doesn't mean Munguai wins it definitely does mean that on paper Mall isn't a big favorite as most think he is(to me at least)
These things tend to matter

Those triangle theories are worthless a lot of time....Munguia also struggled vs Hogan while Charlo got him out of there easily.
The fight is very good regardless of what they did against common opponents.

I used to think Mungais was a bum who'd never amount to anything, but hes developing in some respects that have impressed me pre rosado, then v rosado he sucked. That being said he did ko Montiel in 2 rds as a 20 yr old young pup,& Mall looked completely sht v him last fight. :dunno:
Either way I'd love to see this fight if Mall isn't going to fight another champ or DB

I hope this fight does happen, it will answer a lot of question of Munguia. He has improved but Charlo is more skilled and can slow Munguia's attack with solid counters.
