It might seem like a no-brainer but you must consider that Canelo sits down on his punches more than Ward did. If they both decided to sit down on their punches who do you think would hit harder.
Ward is not a known ped cheat period. Clenelo Alvaroids is a known ped cheat so he punches harder.
- - Canelo never failed a drug test.
Git thee thy minder to look it up for U after he change U SlobberShow diapers.
Still can't ever see Froch KO-ing Canelo, if beating him at all. Would be a great fight to watch. In fact, I don't think we'll ever see anyone KO/TKO-ing Canelo, ever. I've literally never seen him even wobbled. Stunned, or pushed back, yes, but he's never ever been wobbled that I can recall or even had to go defensive/clinching to the bell.
Just playing devils advocate, Canelo was buzzed against Jose Cotto and in the second half of the second GGG fight. I believe GGG hit Canelo with an uppercut and Canelo went on to use head movement for roughly 20 seconds to prevent getting hurt with any more bombs.
What happened in the second Groves fight? Carl Froch skill for skill, was right there with Groves. Carl Froch's jab was the best most dominant punch in the fight.
Groves was not boxing Froch's ears off in the first fight. Froch made that fight into a war of attrition, and as the rounds went by 'Groves was getting beat up and demoralized'.
Froch has a better jab than Alvarez, better movement, greater durability, greater endurance, is physically stronger, and probably in my opinion hits with more power.
There was nothing basic about Froch, when he wanted to box 'For sure he could box'.
Alvarez is not stopping Froch in his tracks with a single punch, and he is not knocking him out.
So he is going to need endurance, because he would need it against Froch.
Caleb Plant, Saunders, Fielding, The Smiths. Carl Froch beats up and sparks all of these fighters.
Froch retired because he had done it all. And he had just fought at Wembley Stadium.

I’ve never viewed Ward as much of a puncher. He’s a technician who damn near perfected his style of fighting. Which was unbelievably ugly to me but incredibly effective.

Thinking about it Froch could win a UD and I would never bet against the Cobra, altough Canelo is much better than for ex. Arthur Abraham.
No way basic Froch is beating Canelo. George Groves was boxing Carls ears off before the stoppage in the first fight. There is a reason why Froch passed up on a GGG payday at the tail end of his career.

Sitting on your punches means when your flat footed, and throw a shot vs somebody who is moving backyards or to the side and throwing shots. If you get what I mean
I actually know what people mean by it. But I don't think it dramatically increases punching power 'Not to the point where a non puncher, can suddenly start sparking people out'.
I would say Andre Ward threw his punches from the bottom up, most definitely when fighting on the inside.
Ward was whamming those body punchers in against Sergey Kovalev.
It is basic mechanics, or in the case of boxing 'Bio-mechanics'. You are going to be able to transfer more force, when planted.
I tell you what is going to be interesting? Tyson Fury right about now, thinks he is a big puncher. The universal perception of him, not being a damaging puncher has kind of lessened after beating Wilder.
I have theorized that both Wilder & Fury could of been acting as a smoke screen for each other. Other than Wilder, the last time Fury fought a decent Heavyweight was Wallin 'And Fury seemingly could not stop Wallin in his tracks'.
Has Tyson Fury's punching power suddenly increased? Or had Deontay Wilder's durability decreased, making Fury look even more devastating?
This theory of mine is not something, I am trying to push aggressively. Because I actually ranked Fury & Wilder '1 & 2 in the heavyweight division'.
Right? How many good black fighters did Ward fight? A weight drained Dawson who was never great to begin with? LOL
Not only that, but I've actually watched Ward's fights with guys like Barrera and Bika. I was really intrigued by the Kov-Ward matchup, and of course it took them a few tune up fights to actually fight. So I took the time to watch most of their fights that I could, to see if I could predict anything.
How any person could see a dominant score from Ward in either of those fights vs Bika and Barrera is insane to me. They were very tough competitive fights with not much between the two fighters in each fight.
But when you fight at home, sometimes you get every close round or at least every round you need. Definitely one of the turn offs from boxing.
Carl Froch would stop Canelo Alvarez.
Froch has a better jab, better movement, greater endurance, greater durability and probably has greater punching power.
Alvarez most likely has a superior tactical mind, better punch combinations, greater single punch speed, and a better defense on the inside.
But none of that will be enough to deal with the bombardment Froch would put Alvarez under.
I am not ignorant or discrediting Alvarez. He is one of the greatest fighters of this era. If somebody ranked him as pound or pound number 1? I would have no issue with that. I just don't really rate his opponents very highly, this era is below par etc.
- - But Froch didn't. He comes back into the fray today, he gonna get KOed with his noggin KOing U dummy noggin on the way down, a double Canelo 2 fer 1 KO.
how is this even a thread that goes 4 pages?
This is literally like asking is Mike Tyson a female?
The answer is no.
how are mentally retarded people arguing over this?

Good point. Ward made his career off the white boys. If they're that bad Ward career isn't worth sht.
Man shut your dumb racist ass up. BJS and Plant are 'slow plodding white guys'? It's one thing to be racist. It's another to be a dumbass.

Similar power, Alvarez is not a monster puncher.
I still have no idea what sitting down on your punchers means, I see people saying this all the the time.
I am unsure why people would think Alvarez is the clear bigger puncher?
