New truths have been revealed in Erik Morales' podcast Here El Terrible interviews Fernando Beltran, the owner of Zanfer, Mexico's biggest promotional company Zanfer has promoted plenty of mexican champions, including Chavez Sr, Jorge Arce, JMM, and Morales himself, and it currently promotes Gallo Estrada, Navarrete, Berchelt, among others Jose Luis Castillo was one Beltran's fighters at the time he gave Mayweather what many consider Floyd's ¨unofficial loss¨, he starts talking about the JLC-Mayweather saga at 4:00 https://youtu.be/5SkQHu-Aah0 Some interesting stuff Beltran says here (sorry, no english translation but spanish speakers can corroborate the info): - Even Bob Arum (along with Beltran and millions of other watchers) thought JLC won the first match - For the rematch, JLC got paid twice the purse of the first fight (Floyd must have been desperate to erase the unofficial stain on his resume) - Castillo fell in love with some girl and stopped giving a **** about the rematch. Beltran claims: ¨this dummy told me.. I don't want to fight.. leave me the **** alone.. I was like wtf.¨ - Castillo didn't want to fight, didn't want to train, and even went missing 3 weeks before the day of the rematch. Beltran's ppl actually had to find him. - JLC went totally untrained and unmotivated for the rematch ¨no wonder we clearly lost that one¨, says Beltran with a face still filled with frustration and dissapointment so many years later. He thinks a focused JLC could have truly beaten Mayweather in convincing fashion Morale of the story - Once again, women are the downfall of men - Floyd never truly beat JLC in convincing fashion, and never avenged his unofficial loss, as the guy he rematched had to be practically dragged into the ring against his will and didn't give two ****s about the fight :(

I hate this more than anything else. Every fighter has an excuse for every loss. I even hate the better man on the night. Being champion is both mental and physical. If JLC let himself get distracted before the rematch then he doesnt have the same dedication required to be champ.
