Whatever you say g@y guy
No its what you trying to imply. That Floyd fought and beat 5 all time great fighters in their prime, but you refuse to back up that claim
or what g@y guy
Or admit you overexaggerating. Something you Floyd Boys do often
what 5 all time greats did Floyd beat and at what stage of their careers were they in when he beat them
You need to watch the fight, then.
Canelo couldn't solve the shoulder roll once again, for large portions of the fight.
He did throw a right hand to the body that eventually helped wear Plant down, though.
He very much did. Shortened up that left hook with and smacked him with it all night.
Blue Print: Drain him(with re -hydration clause) and fight him green.
That's going to be hard to replicate.
The truth is Canelo is a different fighter, the Floyd fight helped him win the Lara fight, the Cotto fight helped him win the GGG fight. The GGG fights made him a complete fighter we see today.
Every fight Canelo learns something new, even after the Floyd fight he wasn't a great fighter, he looked like the same lost fighter against Lara during the first 3 rounds, then he took it to another gear when he saw he was going to lose the same way he did against Floyd. He started just trying to Destroy Lara's body and that changed the fight in his favor. He didn't have the experience before facing Floyd.
it took the GGG fight for him to have confidence in his chin. Now he can fight as a search and destroy fighter, he could never do that before the GGG fights.
They would never be able to fight i their primes because of the weights but you would just have to be blind to think the Canelo we are seeing now is the same kid from 8 years ago.
Floyd is a boxer who beat 5 all time greats and made 4 of them look silly
Gtgoh what 5 all time greats did Floyd beat and at what stage of their careers were they in when he beat them
Lara and GGG didn`t need Mayweather blueprint to beat Canelo.
Both Lara and Golovkin were in super close fights with Canelo.
Floyd beat him clearly and left no doubt.
And it still works somewhat...just use the shoulder roll defense.
I completely disagree tbh mate, I just think Floyd is simply that good he can negate any style. A lesser fighter trying to imitate that style would not have anywhere near the same success. Floyd had an insane ring IQ so Canelo could never figure him out and was constantly guessing. I don’t think there’s anybody in and round Canelo’s weight class with those sort of attributes.
You need to be able to push this version of Canelo backwards, his ring generalship has vastly improved since the Floyd fight, he cuts the ring off much more efficiently, picks his punches better, judges distance better, the box and move style has become a style he deals with comfortably. Plant tried the shoulder roll and consistently ate clean left hooks once Canelo had figured out his defensive patterns.
The last time Canelo looked uncomfortable was against GGG and that’s because Golovkin pushed him backwards.
Fielding not very good, but he did stop him early, so I credit that some. And it was at 168 at least.
Yildrim, similar story. Got the job done as expected. I give some credit for that.
Similar in a way with Kov - he was faded, and probably too soon of a fight after Yarde - but Canelo did close the show and it was at 175 at least.
BJS was very impressive to me honestly. I felt he dominated that fight and closed it.
I had Jacobs as a 7-5 Canelo win. Good performance, got the job done against a really solid fighter. Good win.
Plant, I haven't watched the whole thing yet on a good stream. But he did close the show. And Plant may be the 2nd best guy at 168.
Smith win was a bit of a cherry pick (after Ryder beat him) but he did dominate him.
Stringing together wins against good/solid names is impressive to me. Some guys struggle with guys around the Fielding/Yildrim level if you give them enough fights.
It's honestly impossible imo to compare this version of Canelo to the one who fought Floyd because the difference in weight is so sizeable that you can't really say how the two of them would look. They are 2 to 3 weight classes apart right now.
Ok very fair points.
I didn’t think you did.
Fielding, Yilidrim, Kov, BJS, Plant and Jacobs. Yes all clear. Very Solid???????

What evidence? Considering Canelo hasn't come anywhere close to fighting a boxer of Floyd's caliber, we don't know **** about how improved the "best version" over the 23 yr old version. I mean, the best fighter Canelo has faced since Floyd is GGG and he needed a gift from the judges to avoid taking an L. Is that enough to say Canelo has improved since then?
But one thing we do do know for sure is the "best version" of Canelo has taken up roids.
I think GGG at 160 is a tough fight. Fought him twice. Compare it however you want to a 36 year old Floyd at 152, but yeah it's similar to me. I do feel he lost twice, but at the same time, I think that fight was a different test than Floyd at 152. Not saying better or worse, but styles make fights and all that.
I also think post GGG 1 Canelo has fought a much tougher/smarter gameplan against guys who can't trouble him with power. The weight he is fighting at now is way different than where he fought Floyd, and it is hard to compare performances for that reason.
For me, Canelo at 23 fought a bad gameplan vs Floyd, and it wasn't his best weight, and it was a couple pounds shy even of 154. I think the evidence shows that his best weight is close to where he is fighting now. BJS Smith and Plant are all good but not elite fighters, but Canelo did win all 3 convincingly. He struggled to do that against good fighters at lower weights.
I agree he is probably roided to the gills now, but he actually looks like he is an elite fighter now, before he just had the star power but not the skills.
I would argue GGG at 160 is a pretty tough fight, but at the same time, I don't think Canelo did that well (enough to win) in either fight there too.
To me his best fights have actually been post GGG2. To me they have all be clear wins with little to no controversy., against very solid fighters.
I didn’t think you did.

I think the evidence strongly suggests that the version of Canelo who fought Floyd was not at all close to the best version. My view on that is pretty solid.

Two things can be true at the same time.
I think it’s obvious Canelo is better now than he was at 23.
It is also obvious he hasn’t fought anyone remotely as good as Floyd since then.
He has looked better from 160-175 but he also had his worst performance other than Floyd as well.
