They did a round table years ago on skysports and Lennox had lots of praise for AJ and you could see AJ clearly loved getting any respect from Lewis but now I’m seeing a YouTube vid where he calls Lewis a clown. What happened there then lads?
As a poster above said it well Lewis wanted to sign AJ, coming out of the Olympics he was hanging round AJ a lot and the two seemed pretty friendly, AJ went with Hearn and it got to lennox who was saying negatives since quite early.
I like George Foreman approach to the younger guys, he praises them, I don't get what legends get from being negative, pointing out flaws is fine but there's a line when it gets personal and lennox walked that line with AJ, not necessary imo.
You are an idiot if you believe this Rematchroom nonsense propaganda. Lennox Lewis, a multiple-time, Unified, Undisputed, Lineal Heavyweight champion, got bitter over not signing a Pro prospect? What are your sources for this story?
What was the problem?
Lennox Lewis knows his ish, when it comes to Boxing, believe it or not. And like his great former trainer, Emanuel Steward, Lennox earmarked Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder as the two best in the Heavyweight division. He called Anthony Joshua what he is/was, a limited novice who has his work cut out to get by his shortcomings. Throughout AJ's career, Lewis has highlighted flaws and limitations in AJ's game that need to be worked on.
That is why AJ called Lewis a clown. He told him a few home truths. Lewis is the real deal, and a don. Joshua is a manufactured wannabe.

Fkk me that was years ago he called him a clown. Sort it out hater.
Lennox has sadi quite a bit of negative stuff about Joshuas ability and Joshua took it to heart.
The negative stuff stemmed from Lennox wanting to sign AJ..... Courted AJ , AJ spending a lot of time with Lennox only for AJ to sign with Matchroom .So Lennox was bitter understandably and said what he said. Its like AJ joining Frank Warren and now Hearn starts saying AJ isnt that good. AJ would take it to heart.
Lewis has been talking crap about AJ for years. As far as I can recall, this has been a one way feud, with AJ responding just once, a couple of years ago.
Either way, it's clear that Lewis hasn't ever gotten over beove rejected.
watch the round table he did with a young AJ and Fury he was bigging up AJ saying he was the future of the division and saying Haye would bodybag Fury. At one time Lewis loved AJ.
Lennox doesn’t have a promotional company at least not one that could compare with matchroom, top rank, pbc etc. I find it hard to believe that is the reason but I could believe AJ thinks he’s an atg better than Lennox and his mouth got him into a beef his resume can’t back up.

I’ve always thought Lennox was salty that he never received the love from the British public even though the was the best of his era. He hated Frank Bruno for being more popular when it all came down to personality Frank is still a lovely guy who connects to people. Lewis has a demeanor that comes off as arrogant and not the funny kind like Ali or naz.
Haven't seen the clip but, in my opinion, Lewis has sullied his reputation with his post boxing career.
Talks rubbish and his opinions are formed by the highest bidder. Disappointing when a fighter as classy as him turns out to be such a weak individual.
He was always like that.
he hated on david haye and tyson fury aswell. However to make himself look like he really cared about british boxing he pretended to back audley harrison, as he got some tv time on bbc (back when bbx were airing live boxing).
He then became manager of david price.
As for aj, aj rejected lewis's offer to manager aj's career. Lennox would then take sly dogs at aj. For example insisting that aj was the reason why the wilder fight didnt happen.
That was what made aj lose respect for him
Tyson fury also has called out lennox in the past.
Tyson Fury: 'I have no respect for Lennox Lewis'
British heavyweight Tyson Fury has furthered his war of words with Lennox Lewis, labeling the former world champion "a bitch".
Fury and Lewis have been involved in a spat over the past seven days, and the unbeaten fighter has insisted that the 47-year-old should not be talking about his ability to take a punch.
The 24-year-old told World Boxing News: "Lennox Lewis has the cheek to talk bout chins when he was proper chinny!
"He lost to journeymen, got knocked out too and I am unbeaten, what a bitch! I have no respect for him at all and David Price won't make nothing of himself as long as he is with Lewis."
When AJ turned professional, Lewis wanted to manage/promote him, and AJ rejected him in favour of Matchroom. Since then, Lewis has been critical of AJ many times, and had nothing positive to say. Considering the high profile of both, this inevitably leads to AJ being questioned by the media every time Lewis criticises him, and inevitably ends up with a negative reaction.
It's no big deal really. Lewis **** talks AJ. AJ **** talks back
Yeah, I saw some interviews in the past with Spence Fearon were he talked on Joshua's decision not to sign with Lewis possibly rubbing him up the wrong way.
