Reason for it 40-60 lbs weight difference is huge factor wilder vs fury is equal to ryan garcia fighting canelo ggg. Usyk vs fury is equal to shakur stevenson fighting beterbiev. When put it like such sounds unfair doesnt it.or for ufc folks itd be usman going up to fight jon jones thats death honestly.
Can't it be both? Fury knows how to use his weight. Being leaned on by a guy 40lbs heavier is going to have an effect.
He should have thrown uppercuts. Had he worked on this instead of his bench press, he could have won.
It wasn't the weight difference it was the skill difference.

my maths is crap but as far as i can see wilder at 239 is 86% of fury at 277
shakur at say 135 and the russian at say 185, shakur would be 75% of the russian
so its not the same comparison
please correct me if im wrong
Holyfield well past his prime fought a man 100lbs bigger than him. And he actually won the fight but was robbed. No excuses for Wilder and his fans.
55 lbs is 55 lbs 127 is 182 add in theyre cutting weight. Sounds bout right garcia n canelo 35 lb difference after cut so my point.
no!! this is actually the first time a super HW accomplished something, at any other time in boxing history they always got oblitirated by very much smaller HW.
Dempsey, Tyson, Holyfield, Moorer, Tua, Haye are the proves of that any 200-220lbs men could K.O anybody even men 100lbs heavier than him.
No. Heavyweight is the open category.
A 230 pound man can hit hard enough to hurt anyone.
This.
The heavyweight division is to find out who the best fighter on the planet is.
Plain and Simple.

We have ourselves another idiot folks. What is the difference in percentage? Certainly not what you listed. Eejit.

Jess Willard outweighed Dempsey by almost 60 lbs in their classic fight. Holyfield and haye were outweight by almost 100 lbs when they fought Valuev and were far smaller in height than Wilder is to Fury. Wilder just isn't good and he doesn't want to get better. He doesn't have a traditional stance, his jab is ass, he just depends on power and when you don't stand in front of him letting him find his range(as Ortiz stupidly decided to do in fights he was winning), he looks average. Fury knew Wilder only has a right hand. All wilder threw was the 1-2 all fight after the first 2 rounds of jabbing. Had he added a 1-2-3, he would have caught fury as he slipped and came up . Had he learned to throw an uppercut, that would have eliminated the clinching and leaning on him. He's garbage and his corner is garbage because they all knew what their opponent was gonna do and LET HIM DO IT. lol. Don't blame anyone but Wilder and his corner. Their answer to Fury leaning on him was to put on more weight making him slower and causing more fatigue.. These mfers are geniuses..
Btw, have you ever heard of James Gaines? He was a TNF fighter in the 90s. google him if you havent..
Ngannou weighed in at 263 and Stipe at 234 in the last UFC HW title fight, and Ngannou likely cuts to get under the limit. Brock was probably like 280 in the cage and he beat 220lb Couture for the title.
I actually think the 265 limit should be scrapped. Theres some giants like Teddy Riner and Miljain Lopez who could potentially have made waves in MMA but they are way above the limit.
