You cvunts must be blind. AJ simply went in thinking he still had enough size to push usyk around but usyks footwork was what kept AJ in the centre of the ring. Usyk movement stopped AJ from being able to clinch and move him towards the ropes where he would be a stationary target. The only time Usyk had trouble (2 middle rounds)... he was off centre of the ring.
chisora crowded usyk and closed he distance, he didnt care if he took some shots to land his and pressure usyk. AJ could do that as the bigger man but his style is to box so that is what he did and unsuccessfully. a truely great fighter will be able to fight different fighters differently and adjust. AJ sat around for a big right counter that never came.
Then i thought ok maybe he is hoping usyk will tire with all that movement and him sitting there doing nothing but AJ was mentally fatigued himself and by the 12 damn near collapsed in his corner and took 5 minutes to get off his stool, how can he be so tired when he barely moved or threw, his stamina is trash.
Looked like he was trying to outbox Usyk. What was he thinking. Rob McCracken needs to explain himself?
That's how it looked to me, all those advantages and he goes and tries to out box a much better Boxer.
It's clear that they don't want him getting clipped again like he did with Ruiz, he hasn't got a good chin, it's not glass but it's not good. But they have taken away his best attributes trying to navigate him safely through fights and last night was asking him to outbox a smarter Boxer, they played in to his hands.
It's understandable if Joshua was shook from that Ruiz fight but his team are going along with it by promoting his safety 1st approach.
He needs a new team, fresh ideas and a slap in the face to wake hik up back to being a fighter, not too hard a slap though.

AJ has always fancied himself as some great boxer. Someone around him needs to have the guts to tell him he isn’t the skilled technician he wants to be.
It's better than being a physical freak and losing weight making you look like a light hw trying to outbox someone as good as Usyk. Either AJ got too arrogant thinking he can all of a sudden outbox a top boxer or he's just an idiot
Of course he's arrogant. All he could see was the Fury money. He is blinded by his own hype. He reads comments like Noel Anthony posts about being boxing's biggest draw....and thinks he's some kind of guru/ God.

I think this is it
This. That's exactly the way I saw it.
I think he was willing to give up some shots to continually beat Usyk's midriff.
The problem was twofold:
1. Usyk was simply too good. I still don't think people are appreciating what they just saw a heavyweight do in the ring.
2. Usyk changed up tactics from usual and came out aggressive and took it straight to Joshua.
I was concerned for Joshua before the fight. In the first round I was convinced Usyk would win. Joshua made a doubter of me, before Usyk showed his championship quality.
Love a fight that ebbs and flows.
Exactly, and I would add that Joshua’s size and reach advantage wasn’t as great as I thought it would be.
He was trying to box him, instead of fighting him. He played into his weaknesses, instead of his strength's.
Exactly, and I will add that AJ seemed to tire himself out trying to track Usyk’s movements. It’s like he was trying to play chess (boxing) instead of trying to flip over the chess board (fighting).
Slow Usyk down with body shots. Make him more stationary, and force him to take big risks to get inside. Hope the power scares him and cruise to a decision down the stretch.
After 9 rounds it was looking like the plan might work. But Usyk's response was incredible. Swept the championship rounds. Not often we've seen a heavyweight finish like that in recent times.

AJ looked smaller than Usyk in there, he never tried to push him around once. AJ all of a sudden started thinking he can outbox everyone after he beat 300 pound Ruiz what way but AJ forgets he's 6'6 and can put on weight comfortably. Maybe he should try that next time
Don't worry...he will no doubt have that HGH gut back next time he fights.

Is he that stupid? Or was this McCrackens doing?
A fighter at his level should be able to adjust if necessary. He would have if he had the skills. Usyk just has the higher boxing IQ and no other game plan from Joshua would have helped him beat Usyk
I think he just didnt expect Usyk to be THAT good. Obviously we all know Usyk is more skilled but the gulf was quite a bit bigger than it seemed it would be going in, to me anyway. Other than maybe going to the body a bit more (and he did at times) there was nothing AJ could have done.

He did look like he was trying to box usyk which was a bad idea. Usyk is too skilled. He should do what chisora did which was bully usyk around the ring and make it an ugly fight. Usyk seems to be uncomfortable with guys trying to rush him down and fight him than box him. He made usyk look like a million bucks trying to outbox him.
