Not the same, because it is different fight but I believe he has what it takes. Also Fury is kind of overated here. He is big man with good skills but "only man who can defeat Fury is he himself" always seemed to me as a built-in excuse when he lose IMO. Also there is tendency to credit him with fights he never took. But what is the point of wanting to see them, right, when he defeats them all?
He would give them all problems and he should make them all travel to his hometown if they want a shot
well he was born in a place called simferopol and lives in kyiv, cant see there being much money in either!! the klits bailed to germany and they were smart for boxers i think
No, Fury is a very different fighter to Joshua. Not saying he would definitely lose to Fury but he wouldn't be able to win in the same way.
Hopefully we will find out some time soon.
That’s the same mistake a lot of people on here made about AJ though.
After the performance tonight, Joshua doesn’t win the rematch and I don’t see Fury getting close either. Never been more convinced of something in my life.
My thoughts go back to Fury choosing not to pay Wilder off and now he’s probably lost out on £100m+ for undisputed. Ha!
You Joshua fans never give up on just being daft.
Fury is way smarter in the ring than AJ. Usyk may or may not beat Fury (I think he won't ) but at least Fury won't fight Usyk's fight and would make Usyk fight his fight.
It would be a different fight than what people expect.
People speak like Fury is hard to hit 'He has been there to be hit since Wilder I'.
But I would suspect Fury would still just win.
No, Fury is not a pussy and he actually knows how to use his reach and weight advantage. he would be toying with usyk the whole night, exhaust him and stop him in late rounds.
Probably not. Fury is quite a big bigger than AJ and a lot more mobile and hard to read. I think of the HW "big 3" AJ was the easiest fight for Usyk stylistically. He doesnt have Furys ability to outbox Usyk and he doesnt have the same one shot power as Wilder to land the hail Mary.
I would favour Fury but you never know for sure what could happen. I think Fury would use a lot of mauling tactics and holding to wear Usyk down by putting his weight on him while on the ropes.
But I would favour Usyk against Wilder.
It would be a battle epic of jabs. If Usyk can land his own, things would be more interesting. But like many mentioned here, Fury is smart enough to switch the game by pushing and clinching Usyk, or make Usyk's footwork less relevant. This why Chisora style is more effective because of less boxing and more brawling. Wilder style is good match up for Usyk because Wilder is more static - unless Malik Scott can improve it. But without good jab, Wilder's right hook might bee too predictable for Usyk and he can land earlier and more before even Wilder can cause him problem
Usyk would struggle against Fury.
Fury is much bigger, has better movement, better ring IQ and wouldn't try to fight Usyk on the latter's terms. Fury would keep Usyk at bay and fight him from a distance. Every time Usyk comes close, he would clinch him and put his weight on Usyk to tire him. He would corner him and bully him and push him. That alone would exhaust Usyk and make him question his game plan. Fury will take every single advantage of his height, reach, and weight which was something missing from Joshua in this fight.
Nah, Fury isn't as easy to move as AJ. He's strong on the inside. AJ looks big and strong, but he gets moved much easier for some reason. Almost looks flimsy as the rounds go on
Fury is ballsy enough to do what needs to be done. Make it ugly, use his weight on the inside, and not just pivot in the middle against Usyk like AJ did. At times, AJ was just pivoting, following Usyk around and not effectively pushing him back. Usyk is probably more skilled than Fury, but he'll be fighting a fighter that outweighs him by 60 pounds and who knows how to use each pound to his advantage
Usyk is one brilliant fighter and you would have to give him a chance vs anyone he faces from now on
But with that said I could see Fury winning that fight he controls distance better than AJ, better head movement and defensive skills, has a nice long jab he will stick in Usyk face all night long and any inside work Fury probably leans on him all night ala Cunningham and grinds him down
Yup and Fury is 30lbs heavier now than he even was against cunningham. I could see fury coming in at 290lbs and mauling Usyk to death tbh.

Never fully admitted this but Fury would beat that version of AJ. Fury does not beat that version of Usyk.
I'm not 100% on that. Big size difference there and Fury has a better engine than AJ. Usyk is big enough to deal with AJ, not sure if the same is true with Fury.
Hell no. Imagine what Fury does to AJ though.
Usyk-Wilder is a way better fight. Let's see that.
Haha man everyone outboxes Wilder and usually pretty badly. Usyk would embarrass him on a whole new level. Literally the only drama in that fight is wondering if Wilder can land a bomb and how well Usyk takes it.
