Early pay-per-view numbers according to Dave Meltzer:
The Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Logan Paul fight yesterday ended up being a big success on PPV, at least based on the very weak advance. Based on U.S. television buys, not including international or streaming, the verified number we have based on limited data although covering several million homes was 11.9 times what AEW Double or Nothing did. So that probably falls in the 600,000 to 650,000 range but any number this early with limited data is a very rough estimate. It was a Showtime event and they are a public company so most likely they will announce an estimate (that will include streaming numbers so a number much higher than this) later in the week.
Lol someone here said Logan Paul was guaranteed $20 Million......this forum just loves throwing out random numbers to mislead people and hope it sticks.
I thought Paul was guaranteed $250,000 but with 10 percent of the PPV, lol he got screwed, Floyd actually robbed Showtime he got a Guarantee of $10 million and 50 percent of PPV buys. If the PPV only sold 450,000 to 650.000 buys at 49.99 Showtime will taking a loss if they had to pay Logan 20 million

There's a lot of dumb white boys in the country though.
I know. That’s why I call the Paul Bros. the epitome of white privilege. They literally are.
No talent, not funny, not athletes, not singers, not good actors, etc. Just typical suburban blue eyed blonde haired douche bags who are successful simply because a big chunk of the US population looks like them and relates to their lame generic personas aka young dumb white boys.
So he's saying over 600k TV buys? Yeah, this is definitely hitting over the million mark once they add the streaming buys.
I think the fact the servers crashed suggests your correct.
Isn’t Meltzer the wrestling mark? Didn’t know he covered boxing. :lol1:
Yeah he is the wrestling guy but he been covering boxing and ufc for years too, he just doesn't cover it like dan rapheal but he always covers the ppv events and stuff he just isnt a boxing head who analyzes fights and writes about it. He used to go to all the big boxing events covering the fight.
We will never know the exact Numbers but I'm sure Showtime will Embellish the Final Numbers and say it did over 1 Million Buys or something like all these Networks and Apps do
Naw Showtime like HBO cannot embellish numbers bro, they are public entity. This is not UFC or Triller that fluff the numbers. When Floyd fought Berto, Showtime never released numbers because the numbers were very poor and this was Floyd coming off his biggest ppv and win and said it was his retirement fight yet nobody tuned in and the weigh in was empty and the arean wasnt sold out yet his fans claim Floyd can sell millions against a janitor, we knew that wasnt true he also needed a name and he thought logan paul was a big name like Conor and would be easy work for big money, if the ppv does lower than they expect they will just stay silent. If it does high numbers they boast about it.
Remember when Floyd vs Conor happened and Dana white told his followers the ppv did over 6.6 million ppv buys and then Stephen Espinoza of Showtime corrected Dana White and said that is not true and the numbers are tracking toward 3.5 million but less than Floyd vs Pacquiao.
Dana got mad and said who side are you on? lo Dana was including international numbers, Showtime only counts USA numbers when they release buys and they are not allowed to pitch false numbers because of investors.
Meltzer is usually spot on with this, but If Showtime doesn't announce the numbers than that means they were low under 500k, just like with the Floyd Mayweather vs Andre Berto, Showtime didn't officially announce any numbers.
Showtime issuing refunds because of the crash....

Yikes. Floyd's PPV sales hasn't been this low since 2006 i believe against Zab?
I'm hearing rumors the streams sales only amounted to around 20K sales because of the crash....
You heard it here first
"Based on U.S. television buys, not including international or streaming"
Given popular the Pauls are with kids who generally don't have cable I can easily see the total being above a million when you include streaming and international.
I was thinking about this. The Pauls made their name on a service that is free to the customer. Maybe it's not that logical to think that YouTube fans convert to PPV streamers?
Mayweather made his name in boxing. I don't think this appealed to boxing fans at all. It was a bit of a curiosity more than anything serious.
This event could have missed the mark on both counts.
There's a lot of dumb white boys in the country though.
It ain't just white boys, man. Where I work, there are several black dudes here who were hyped for this. These guys are total casuals. They couldn't be bothered with an Errol Spence or Terrence Crawford fight but they will definitely stop down for a 44 year old Floyd Mayweather fight versus a YouTuber.
And scrolling through my Twitter on Sunday, I swear there were more black folks talking about it than white boys. In fact it really wasn't even close.
No one outside of dumb white boys in the US care about Logan Paul. And Floyd doesn’t command that demand overseas as much as before.
His sham is about dried up.

He made more money than Manny made last fight, the fight aired in multiple countries and they all had major ads playing.
Floyd could do another fight and still make a fortune it all depends on opponents, but I guess that's a little bit over your head to fathom.
What’s Floyd Paul have to do with Manny?
LMAO You got PDS. Pacquiao Derangement Syndrome.
Nobody outside the US cared for Logan Paul Mayweather. Nobody outside the US knows about Logan Paul is. He’s the definition of white privilege in America.
This fight was crap and Floyd is inflating his income unless like I said, he gotta guarantee up front.
I read that like 98% of the buys came the day of the fight. Like someone else mentioned, the volume of the orders shut down the showtime app. I was trying to watch the 4 kings documentary and couldn't.
