This arbitration case was nothing to do with him actually wanting to fight.
He doesn’t want this fight again, he’ll get smashed.
But now he has a right to get a Step aside fee, which the Saudis will probably pay via Fury’s team
It doesn’t matter who stood to make what , Fury can just say F U give him whatever and still make more off the A.J fight . Really makes no sense for Fury to fight Wilder . The teams will renegotiate and move on one way or other . Why would they have been negotiating this long ? Worst case scenario had to be put in place long ago . I don’t know how an expired contract is still valid this long but I’ve seen crazier things , I minor bump for team Fury but not a road block .
No doubt Fury will make more fighting Joshua. But Team Fury will still see it as handing over millions of their own money.
The alternative is to fight him, beat him, earn millions, then move to Joshua.
I don't give Fury an out on this. If he owes Wilder money because he broke contract then he should pay the man or fight it further. That's Fury's business alone.
But nothing is stopping him fighting Joshua. If he pulls out, it's a duck.
this is nonsense,
don’t you understand that this case puts him in perfect position to get a step aside fee? Now that Fury is obligated to fight him.
Nonsense.
Wilder won't take a step aside fee or he would have taken it when first offered. He wants the fight. There is no guarantee that Fury will honor the step aside agreement after being burnt already by team Fury.
Seems unlikely.
Joshua has no obligation to fight Wilder.
Every possibility Fury retires if he beats Joshua.
Haymon would never let Wilder go across the street to DAZN. Lou Dibella got fired over suggesting it.
A high level Haymon-DAZN co-promotion has so far proved impossible.
At that time Haymon and others, such as Bob Arum, didn’t believe in DAZN’s sustainability at the time. Since then DAZN has made big moves so who knows what the future holds. We might see some top level PBC guys crossing the street for the right offer.

Nope. Wilder exercised the binding arbitration clause of the contract to get Fury back in that ring and knock him out. This isn't about money, it's about revenge, pure and simple.
I disagree. I think like most high level guys they want all the smoke, even when they lost. Therefore I think Wilder DEFINITELY thinks he can reverse things as illogical as that seems to most, including myself. That said Wilder is always gonna have a punchers chance vs Fury or anyone else.
Whatever doe. The situation is the situation & business-wise for Wilder I'd argue the move here is try to get a step aside fee with a shot at the winner in August.
I used to think Wilder had zero chance, but now I think he has more than a punchers chance for the simple reason that just like Eubank jr when he finally got his head outta his ass enough to hire & listen to a good trainer,he will be far more dangerous. He's actually humbled himself (even though he'll never admit it) because he wouldn't be reinventing himself if that were not the case, he wouldn't be trying to become an actual boxer & learn defense the right way if he wasn't aware how garbage his boxing ability used to be. Fury battered him because he had terrible defense,I don't think Fury would ko him nearly so easily, especially because Wilder never imagined Fury was capable of kos at all,& hes was dying laughing when Fury said hed go for ko(he thought Fury would run)
Of course it was being talked about.
Wilder’s advisors are not stupid, they would tell him to exercise it to put him in a position to take step aside money if Fury v AJ is in the works.
That’s what they get paid for.
Wilder won’t fight Fury again, he will take the money.
Fury vs Joshua a week after the Wilder rematch was not being discussed at all.
We shall see what he does but that makes no sense that he exercised his rematch a week after the fight to get on some step aside money for a fight that wasn't even being discussed.
^^^^^^This is nonsense ^^^^^
If Wilder wanted step aside money, he would have taken it instead of going to arbitration but he wants his belt.
Basically he wants his rematch clause honored and now it has to be.
The only way Fury/AJ is after Wilder/Fury...Haymon/Wilder knows that having that belt is the true leverage.

Honestly I bet the amount Wilder will actually get from this settlement is embarrassingly low
I can see why he would want to avoid the fight, he got beat up last time. But then Wilder seems pretty delusional and not too smart so who knows what he's thinking? I wonder what his excuses will be if he loses again?

So where is this "he doesn't want this fight again" stuff coming from? He literally exercised his rematch clause a week or so after the fight.
I don't know how this ends, but his team will certainly be gunning for the trilogy to take place next.

It doesn’t matter if Wilder wins the case or not ultimately it’s still up to Fury to go ahead with the undisputed , they can’t force Fury to fight him they can on,y hit him with a lawsuit and it won’t matter it’s peanuts to what he would get in the undisputed fight .
What do you think Wilder, networks, promoters etc stood to earn off the fight? Limited interest but it certainly wouldn't be peanuts.
Be should it's a win win for him
He pockets some change and
Saves him an as whop
