Looks like it did on par with the Charlo doubleheader PPV or maybe even a bit better. If Ruiz wasn't guaranteed a crazy amount of money, they could have come out decent from this PPV, since the undercard didn't feature any big names.
I saw the other thread reporting 36k, hopefully 150k is closer to the truth than 36k.
Not a PPV worthy fight for me, but 36k seems really low.
Doesn't mean these numbers are the correct ones but Meltzer was only reporting the cable buys.
I'll wait until Jake Donavan gets the figures for this fight, he's always the most accurate.
Way Better numbers than expected if True but I'm sure those numbers are being embellished something ALL OF BOXING does IN GENERAL!
Regardless of the numbers...Good Entertaining Card from Start To Finish! I think PBC should continue with Mexican Cards and do another one for September headlined by Ruiz vs Ortiz which would do even more buys than this I'm sure along with being able to promote the card during the start of the NFL Season
I believe digitla does way more than terrestial now. I seen interview on how ESPN+ is able to pull in more ppv buys just because of their ecosystem and synergy with other sport fans, for example basketball fans, football fans, all use the same app to watch their sport which means they all get upselled the same events (PPV) so it drives up the numbers, so I assume this ring true for fox network aswell.
According to Arum, a third of the buys for Wilder/Fury came from ESPN+. That fight took place like 16 months ago so I don't doubt more and more people buy it through digital. This fight in particular was very hard for me to order on satellite and all the promos on TV kept saying to order through Fox Sports app or Foxsports.com. Promotional companies get far more money when they aren't bought through satellite/cable so it makes sense how they promote these fights now a days.
Still though, the numbers from Coppinger and Meltzer aren't adding up. If we are to believe Meltzer's linear buys, then that mean over three times of the buys would have had to come through digital? Could be maybe both have it wrong and it's somewhere in the middle.
I actually saw someone tweet 36,000 at Coppinger and didn't get the reference lol.
I see Meltzer report it did 36.1k buys. Looks like he was only talking about linear buys and not digital buys. But even then, his number would be different than Coppinger. If it did do 50/50 linear to digital, then Meltzer's numbers only get it to 72k while Coppinger is essentially saying it did double that.

Weird just commented on this thread below, how this fight card should not have been PPV but only 36k buys did seem extremely low 125K seems a lot more legit .Card was really good though top to bottom .
