They need to strike while the iron is hot . these youngsters are making a lot of noise . its actually positive not like that bs Paul brothers and exhibition crap. If they wanna risk their health and well being then f it just do it . like wilder willing to die in the ring . no one would really wanna c that but if it happened it happened.
i hear you..like ive said i hope what teo did has put pressure on these youngsters a little
hahaha that was fun.....i bet tank was real shook of them air punches ry was throwing -rolls eyes- lol
so looking forward to it...but i still question whether or not it actually happens next...seems to soon and seems too soon for oscar to risk one of this two prized guys
oscar is down to two guys who are still basically prospects...one of them takes an L soon and hes really hurt...i dunno...well see

I don't know if he is that type of fighter. In most fights the opponent is already defensive and he just walks them down and ends the fight. But against someone with a good skillset? He's going to get touched up. I think his chin will prove to hold up to big punchers. My main question with him is his stamina and if he can be disciplined enough in a fight to slow down and take what the opponent is giving him without trying to land big shots at all times.
Tank is a vicious killer when he has you hurt so yeah, he would have tried to get Garcia out of there. But would Garcia get hit with that type of shot against someone shorter with a smaller reach in Tank?
oh ya...i def agree...tank will have an "uphill" battle landing on ry for sure....tank gonna have go downstairs a bit and get ry to drop those hands
Garcia taking an L here isn't going to really hurt him. As long as Garcia continues to do his thing and maintain his name value, he will be fine. He can bounce back from a loss or two. Garcia doesn't need to win all his big fights, just some of them like Oscar did.
Yep the sooner boxing fans get over undefeated records then the better. It’s about making competitive fights.
It's hard to gauge Tank. He struggled with Gamboa but obliterated Pedraza.
Maybe not knowing exactly just how good these guys are makes it more exciting.
Dont forget how bad he looked fighting Forsenca and we all know how that fight went for Ryan.
Garcia doesn't have the stupid boxing hardcore fanbase most do. If he loses a bunch of hot women will only want to nurse him back to health and they'll still tune in to any other fight he will ever have. He's lucky in a way.
Loll damn that made me laugh man haha true tho
Only thing I'm wondering is if Tank CAN be more defensive. I don't think he was too worried bout LSC's power.
Ryan might not be polished yet but yeah with that power he's ready for anybody.

never implied that tank was a defensive wiz...in fact i said i didnt think even think ryan was all that hurt....just saying...if tank puts him down like that hell be all over him once the action resumes and it will be tough for ry to survive.....campbell didnt seem to press or want to press

agree..dont think he was worried about anything LSC had for him....tank is a guy that can show some flashes of movement...but he seems more like a guy who might be willing to take something to give his
and yeah that body shot by ry was baaaddd...if he lands something good on tank it will be interesting
I mean sure, but at the same time, Tank was getting touched up by LSC. Not like he is this defensive master. He has his flaws too. If the youngster wants it, then let's see it! Hearns was 22 years old when he took on SRL. And look at the type of fight we got.
It's not that he struggled with Gamboa, because he still won damn near every round, but you saw his stamina issues. He has discipline issues and has twice not had great camps...And no surprise, those two fights he had subpar performances.
Even against Pedraza, it seemed like Pedraza was starting to get to him a bit and Tank was tiring but he quickly picked it up and ended up taking Pedraza out.
Just make this fight happen and let's talk less about Ryan not being ready for this fight...Because he IS ready for it. And being ready for the fight doesn't guarantee he will win of course, but we don't need to marinate it.

well yeah its obvious they are banking on rys size as is he...he kept referencing how tank needs a step ladder to get him lol...but i think tank was right...even though i dont think ry was badly hurt when campbell dropped him at all..if tank drops him he will be all over his arse and it will be tough to survive
its a great matchup on paper...and i hope it happens ASAP...hopefully teo put the pressue on all these guys....i still have doubts it happens right away but ive been wrong before lol

id think the fight with linares would be before haney...if youre gonna make haney why not make tank ? sure tank is a bigger name/draw than haney at this point....but if you arent gonna fight tank why fight haney? i dunno....that just wouldnt make sense to me...a haney fight could still be there down the road....if you lose that you prob lose out on tank...linares is basically a sure W
It wouldn't make sense to me either but otherwise why muscle out fortuna for the fight with Campbell if they knew it would lead to a Haney fight.
I guess Golden Boy is really confident in Garcia.
Its definately not next. Garcia is either gonna get Haney next because the sanctioning body will push for it or Golden Boy will run back the fight with Jorge Linares that they had originally wanted to make.

yeah...i hear that...i also think people tend to put too much stock in one fight..or the last fight...last time they saw the guy in the ring
nakatani was kind of an unknown...and teo struggled...and people jumped on him for that...and basically alot of people around here had him and commey a 50/50...the pick em thread was about 50/50...and he ended that quick....plus nakatani stopped verdejo his next time out so maybe this guy is a bit underrated
i think people tend to put alot into the last time they saw a guy in the ring
people bashed tank for gamboa....but haney didnt stop him

Correct, his fan base isn't made up of people who think he is a top P4P fighter. He has some hardcore fans but that's not what makes up majority of his fan base. GBP is correctly taking the proper risk here. They know a win over Tank, who is the biggest name of the fighters he can face will make him even a bigger star. A loss? Well, they wouldn't want to see him badly hurt or dominated but if he loses a competitive fight? No problem at all. Can easily rebound from that type of loss. But GBP is pretty confident their guy wins this fight. They are banking on Ryan's size and having this fight at 135, where Tank is untested and unproven at.

eh...maybe.....
i hate comparing boxing to mma especially when its comes to business because its apples to ****ing kumquats.....but remember that kid sage northcutt? dude was on the cover of espn mag and all types of stuff...being hailed as the next big thing...dude got knocked real quick and i aint really heard about him since even though i barely follow mma
ry losing to tank this year is a setback no matter what...because oscar will then be hesitant to put him in the mix with teo and haney....yeah garcia still has appeal because of his age, his ethnicity and overall appeal to the youtube/teenboppers....but i dont see a loss here as a good thing....especially for oscar
