The Bobfather said it did 125k buys on a Ring Mag interview. I think these PBC PPVs are hurting the sport more than helping it, proof is in the numbers. People will pay for fights they actually wanna see, i.e. the Tyson Jones PPV card that did over a million.
PBC doing a disservice putting non PPV cards on PPV.
My guess would be in the 250K range. PPV is hard to sell at $75 a pop unless you have a big name headlining the event. Spence and Danny are not big PPV draws. This will be the norm going forward.
The top WW’s are not stars by any means, other than the almighty Filipino.
They have no buzz amongst casuals.
Not entertaining enough, inside or outside the ring.
PPV numbers have been low for the PBC cards, wouldn’t be surprised. I would be surprised, however, if PBC actually made a fight the fans want to see. Spence vs Crawford needs to be made next.
He asked Kugan what it did and then Kugan asked him if he knew and he just said 150k maybe 200k. That's him throwing it out. This is the same guy that was saying Spence/M.Garcia was going to do maybe a 100k and even afterwards was making his sly comments about it.
He sure knows the numbers to every other event that isn't involving his own and on those he won't ever throw a number out like this lol. Will just say "around that" or "close to that amount."
Again, I will be surprised if Spence/Garcia did less than Tank vs LSC. It may have fallen short of 300k buys, but 250-275k buys sounds about right.
I retract my previous comment upon further review.
Didn’t sound like he just threw it out there. His point was that we got good fights like Spence-Garcia which are drawing flies while the freakshows are stealing attention. And thus why he thinks boxing needs to start putting together the super fights (joshua-Fury, Crawford-Spence) to pull back the attention.

I honestly don’t know why people even quote this guy. It’s just lies, lies and more lies.

Lol, he just threw that number out there. He also was saying Spence vs M. Garcia was only going to do a 100,000, maybe 200,000 buys.
I don't think this fight is going to reach 300k buys, but I'll be surprised if it does less than Tank vs LSC.

Too bad we"ll never know anything factual, all we"ll get is some vague term like "trending" somewhere between blah blah blah like all the previous ones. People eventually will get fed up being force fed mediocre fights at $80 a pop and hopefully speak with their wallets to get rid of the ppv model for **** fights that should be on free/cable TV. Seems likes were finally at that point. 150k -200k buys will be the norm for non-blockbuster fights. Unless Jermall fights Canelo,Tank fights Teo or Spence fights Pac/Bud....cant see how they can continue to justify putting their fights on PPV.
Fury vs Joshua...I would gladly pay
Spence vs Crawford...I would gladly pay
Joshua vs Wilder....i would gladly pay
Every other matchup can **** off if its gonna be on PPV.
Yeah those i would likely pay, even if you can get a stream you dont know if it would be reliable. I also liked the movie theater fights, watched a few of floyds in there.
I did buy fury vs wilder, the second one, you knew there is a chance of a KO and its a big matchup. Most of this other matches ups they have are not PPV material at all. Not for fuking 80 dollars, make it like 15-20 dollars if you going to do ppv.
Boxing is struggling and we know why the circus freak show fights sell more.
Spence was going to UD Garcia, garcia has a good chin but would get outboxed, probably not get dropped, has the power to keep spence cautious from opening up and going for the KO. Predictable and boring fight, sure there are other outcomes that could have happened but that was the most likely.
Mayweather vs paul, everyone wants to see paul get fuked up, then his dumb fans think he might actually win, it will sell huge.
Tyson vs Jones, people thought Tyson might not hold back and KO jones, a lot payed to see tyson have another KO which thankfully didnt happen and jones was safe.
The circus fights have appeal to a larger audience, everyone knows who Tyson, Logan, Mayweather are and are interested in seeing a KO. A lot of those people never heard of garcia or spence and arent going to pay to watch a 12 round decision.
Maybe, but the thing is Eddie is the new I was lying yesterday, today I'm telling the truth guy of boxing. Arum sent him the belt & everything. I dig Eddie & hes a great promoter & can be very no bs at times, but he is very full of sh^t & just saying whatever too often.
Isnt this an oxymoron????

Your comprehension is poor. I said about a quarter of Spence “diehards,” not a discussion of casuals, would doubt paying $80 for a Garcia fight, especially if Swift wasn’t a threat. Meaning they would spend $80 on a more meaningful fight. Is a quarter loss of his fans whom pay $80 a tragedy or realistic?
Nobody is not paying for a Spence fight because he got in a car accident last year.
If you decided to stream it, u would’ve done it regardless.
UFC is really kicking boxing’s arse, despite boxing still getting lots of help from ESPN.
Pretty much both are basically on the same level in terms of sales or popularity... Spence definitely a bit more than Crawford though. This is why both actually need a win over each other
I 100% agree.
Only one of them can be that guy and they need to fight each other. They think PAC will do that for them, which he will slightly, but even casuals know PAC is 42 years old.
This isn’t the same as Canelo Cotto or PAC De La Hoya.
Whomever wins between Crawford and Spence will be the WW king and can then go onto stardom as such.
Lmao people blaming the car wreck if he performed bad and now people blaming the car wreck for lack of sales?!
GTFOH.
You guys are delusional.
Spence nor Crawford are big names, only amongst actual boxing fans. They have no casual fans.
