Why is Spencer vs. Garcia PPV?

Fight won't happen if it's not on PPV. Haymon himself probably would have preferred it on free tv. As already mentioned, greed is the root cause of it.

Their cards are stacked/competitive. Garcia is washed up. This is a walk in the park for Spencer. The only person washed up is the mofo that flew out of a car last year.

Boxing is a different animal when it comes to PPV. Promoters put all their resources in just one fight, the main event. Established fighters are too greedy, they get the big share of the pie. Networks are essentially selling only one fight for a hefty price. Things need to change. Either don't buy them and demand more. Such as spreading out the resources and share them with 2-4 main cards. Fans need to stop supporting greedy fighters.

I'm sure Spence and Garcia have some hefty guarantees, which means the only hope they have for the event to be profitable is to put it up for PPV. Add to that the limited crowd capacity due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and I think they probably didn't have a choice. I wouldn't mind paying PPV for every fight, but I think most PPVs have been overpriced.

That match up is PPV type fight now the undercard straight trash. None of those fights going to be competitive. People going to say I’m tripping. Let’s see if I’m wrong the next day . It’s an HBO After Dark type fight with an FS1 undercard lol

They will make any fight a PFV if they think it will make more money than it would if it was not PFV. Hell, you have to pay to see 51 year old Jones fight 54 year old Tyson live FFS! The UKC has PFVs all the time.

Without a full live gate PPV is probably the only way to pay these guys. It probably won’t do amazing numbers. Dana White owes the TV networks a number of fights and PPV’s per year or he loses a ton of money.So he forces his fighters to fight for peanuts so he and his investors keep lining their pockets. These UFC fighters hopefully learn their worth one day and realize the are the draw and don’t need to get their brains bashed in foe Dana’s crumbs.

Because people are stupid. They don’t give you the fights that you want, but people still defend them. They see that and think those people would buy anything. At the end of the day you don’t have to pay for it. Let them use their sources to make up good numbers. When we all know the PPV bomb for them.

This is a question for PBC, Spence and Garcia. Maybe because they need money? Not worthy of PPV, agreed. UFC is a las vegas smokescreen joke. They probably need to make enough to pay purses, they got to pay for these things somehow. I dont mind PPV if the prices were reasonable, if they were $20 and under they probably sell a lot more than they do.

Because Spence is a superstar, sells tickets, sells ppv’s, is unified champion at welterweight, and top 5 p4p. Garcia is also a big name with a big following and draws viewers. He’s also a live dog in this fight, great test for Spence in his first fight back since his accident.
