He's currently #1, a win over Lopez would cement his place there against someone like Crawford (until Crawford fights Spence).
But no, it's not a 50/50 fight. Lomacheneko is a 3-1 favorite. Which..... is the same as it was for Floyd-Canelo :)
So what? The boxing community and most reporters had Hammed beating Barrera easily and look how that turned out. It’s a good win against a good and upcoming prospect but nothing that makes Loma stand out. Loma has been quiet for the last two or three fights. Nothing special just beating name opponents that he has the edge over. Not his fault but he well have to do and fight someone that can match him over his skills and honestly nothing below 135 is available
That's bull****. Pre walters fight, walters had koed p4p fighter at the time nonito and many favored walters to win, after the excuse was walters was inactive that's why he lost.
Then rigo lomo was 50/50 across the board then after the excuse was rigo was too small and old.
Now it's 50/50, so let's not make excuses after lomo wins.
This is clearly a 50/50 fight among boxing trainers, fans, and observers. Is there any debate that if Lomo wins, he's number p4p no questions asked?

Toopid?
be a good win for Loma beating a bigger young upcoming fighter but I don't see how a victory vs Lopez makes him #1 since the kids pretty green and no one knows how good he truly is
He’s more proven than Haney. Beating Commey doesn’t make you green anymore
So by that logic. If Lopez wins, he's p4p #1?
He’s getting inside top 10 but definitely not #1 yet. You gotta consider their current ranking too. Loma is in the mix with the top, Lopez is outside that circle now

No, he won't be.
Unless you rate Lopez as a P4P level fighter. I think Lopez is a good fighter, but Loma shouldn't lose that fight.
Loma will be up there, probably top 3 and definitely higher than Inoue. But not higher than Canelo or Crawford.
It's a 50/50 fight among the boxing community.
It absolutely is. A undefeated champ isn't undisputed nor has had a long defense record.
Ridiculous for you to try and argue an unproven unbeaten fighter is a better win than an established kingpin of a division.
Again, no active boxer has a better win. Pacquiao has the most stacked resume of active fighters and none of his wins come close.
Stop it. Wlad was almost 40 and got koed in his next fight. He retired right after because he was no longer the same fighter. For you to argue that he wasn't is laughable. That's like saying it's impressive beating Ali in his last fight or beating joy jones at 40.
No, he won't be.

He was way past his prime. After that fight he got koed by Joshua and then retired. So no beating a faded champ who’s almost 40 is not more impressive than beating an undefeated young champ in his prime.

Nope. Since Crawford actually fought at 135 and Loma's team made it clear if he was around that weight, there was no way in hell they'd fight him. That alone tells me Crawford is the better fighter and ranks ahead of him. That;s like saying GGG is better than Ward but when the fight was proposed to him, he said, No Ward, too good. End of story. Canelo got to much ***** attached to his career to ever rank him P4P 1.
Right now Loma is a -365 favorite to win so you need to bet $365 on Loma to win $100 if he wins. Lopez is a +275 underdog so if you bet $100 on Lopez you win $275 if he wins. So this is not even close to a 50/50 fight. Loma is a big betting favorite to win.
It is not a 50/50 fight. Loma is a big betting favorite. Lopez is the promising but unproven new guy with no rating yet on any PFP best lists so beating Lopez does not move Loma up higher on any pfp lists except maybe yours. Loma is already number 1 pfp on most lists and number 1 is as high as you can go. if Lopez wins he gets on the pfp best lists as high as one wants to put him. If Loma wins it is just another good win that he was expected to win and he goes no higher pfp because he is already number 1.
I see this fight going one of 2 ways. Either Loma is gonna outbox him or Teo is gonna knock him out. The sure things are that, Teo aint outboxing Loma and Loma aint gonna stand and trade and get the better of the exchanges. So that's it. Either we're gonna see the smaller better boxer get ko'd after having some success like Arguello vs Pryor or we're gonna see the smaller better boxer outclass bigger/stronger puncher that has some boxing skill too(Roy JOnes vs James Toney).
