Who wins in this epic match up between a walking Tazmanian devil with the size of slender man and a hard punching, relentless body attacking, southpaw?
Let’s talk!!!!
Mikey was PFP at 135 not 147 And Spence used his larger frame to box safely from a distance and never hurt the smaller Mikey. Mikey started at 126 and was in his 30s at 135 before jumping to 147 for Spence. Thats relevant because Mikey was near his max fighting size at 135 Spence meanwhile is still in his 1st weight class and reportedly balloons up to 180s.
I dont rate Spences win over Mikey. At all. Mikey has done nothing since to show hes a capable 147 fighter. If he does something then maybe a revisit is necessary.
Heres an example: If Wilder pulls Beterbiev up 2 divisions and fights him at HW and shuts him out..so what? Career HW should win...not impressed
And Kell Brook won either 9-3 or 8-4. Great performance
Dude, Wilder would definitely not outbox Beterbiev for 12 rounds.
He'd get outboxed, the way that GGG & Canelo were before they caught Brook & Khan.
Everyone expected Mikey to outbox Spence before he got caught and knocked out.
What shocked everybody was that Spence was the better boxer as well
And he didn't "box safely" against Mikey.
Mikey refused to fight.
Spence was trying to get Mikey to actually open up for 12 rounds, but Mikey just wanted to survive and not get hurt and if that's the mentality your opponent has, there's nothing you can do about that.
Tall Paul being overrated based on what he could have done at 147
There was little reward in fighting him so they ignored him. He wasn’t overlooked because he was super good
Not buying what your selling, nobody(I repeat Nobody)wanted to PWill at WW sorry .Not Mosley not Mayweather nobody would even take question on the man so stop..Again people forget how scary PWill was at WW,there were crickets when it came to fighting him which is why he moved up..
Kell Brook didn't blow Porter out now.
It was a close enough fight where if Porter wins an extra round or two he would've won the fight.
And Spence won every single round against Mikey Garcia, a guy who was universally on everybody's top 10 P4P list.
If that's not special, I don't know what is.

Did you just call Sergio Martinez average but then praise Cotto for beating him, a version of Sergio that would pass for senior citizen/handicapped?
Lol where do they get real boxing fans these days?
Dude is a joke.
The point I made is not all people look bad against Porter. Kell Brook looked great.
Spence is a good fighter but hes far from special. And his fights w/ Mikey and Porter showed that.
Nothing wrong with being a good fighter...man will be rich cause of it, but I dont see him being rated ATG when its said and done

Kell Brook was a damned good fighter before GGG busted his face.
If he wouldn't have wasted his time chasing Amir Khan, he could've accomplished a lot more

Lara dominated williams for 12 rounds and was robbed.
Winky wright was washed and coming off of 2 years inactivity
And the martinez fight was razor thin. And some felt he loss.
And none of those fights were at 147.
Fights between the elite are usually close. I'm going by history not who people feel should have won.
Spence by KO or UD. Williams had trouble with southpaws. The first Quintana fight, Martinez and Lara proved that. If Spence were a right handed fighter I'd say Williams could outwork him. But since that is not the case I'll go with Spence. It would be good while it lasted.
William's has wins over Lara, Winky Wright, and Sergio Martinez.

Kell Brook looked solid...hell he looked SPECIAL...against Porter. Kell landed all of the good and clean work.
Spence is a GOOD fighter but hes far from great.

Easy fight for Errol.
Paul is giving up 29 inches in height and his wheelwork is extremely rusty.
Spence is in his prime and will have no problem connecting on Paul who will be a sitting duck for Errols left hooks to the body which will find Paul's chin easily.
Paul would receive his first sitting 8 count about 11 seconds into the first round and would be stopped moments later as Errol pushes him against the ropes and closes with a flurry.

Ok, I just read through the comments and I see that:
1. Some are picking Paul Williams because he beat Antonio Margarito
and
2. Some are picking Errol Spence Jr. because of how Carlos Quintana handled Paul Williams
Let's look at each viewpoint:
1. Errol Spence is has more dimensions to his game than Antonio Margarito and he's more athletic. Yes, Paul Williams managed to edge a prime Margarito with his volume and workrate but Spence isn't just a body-puncher who marches forward all night. Errol would stand and trade at times but also land the sharper, judge-friendly shots.
2. The Quintana fight showed that Paul Williams' volume could be trumped by a sharp boxer who could place shots well.
I believe that Spence could replicate some of what Quintana did and win a competitive 116-112 or 115-113 type of decision
I'm picking the Punisher. Better wins and he had the stones to move up in weight. Whole reason he had to move up in weight is the 147 division wouldn't fight him including other Haymon fighters.
Better wins where? Margarito and thats it vs brook and porter
There is no need to hype Spence either. As we have seen, Spence/Porter are the same level pretty much. And I believe Spence will have a hard time with Danny also.
Great match up, I don’t know whatsoever who to favor.
I did think about Williams vs. Porter though, and I think it would be a tremendously sloppy fight where Williams breaks Porter down by the 9th.
The only two decent welterweights Spence has fought, it didn’t show any extra levels
Porter was razor thin, should have even an immediate rematch
Brook was evenly matched until Brooks face fell apart again
So what people are saying here, is that Williams wasn’t that good and so would get knocked out. I think it’s under-valuing him a little bit
I still think Brook would’ve beaten him if he didn’t drop 2 divisions instantly for that fight, after taking a beating from Golovkin and eye surgery.
