I know that Mayweather is a hard person to like due to his personality. Did he earn any respect for giving Maidana an immediate rematch after a tough fight that some had as a draw. Does he get any credit for that?
Not really. He had his guardian angel Bayless looking out for him. Floyd ran most of the night and Maidana employed the wrong strategy of throwing less punches and not taking the fight to him like the first match. Let's face it, Maidana was initially a cherry-pick gone wrong. Floyd likes fighting slow, plodding brawlers and thought Maidana would be an easy mark. He could have, and should have fought Khan, who had already defeated Maidana, but chose Maidana instead.
Theres your superior IQ messing up again , youre such a pathetic hater lol at least know a little boxing you sound like a total dick that just started watching the sport.
Truth be told, Berto (who actually was coming off a legitimate shoulder injury, as opposed to Manny's imaginary one) gave Floyd a better fight than Manny did. The only people dumb enough to think Pac won that fight are the "if you watch it in slow motion with the lights off, but exactly 3 candles lit, blah blah blah, insert excuse here" guys.
As for Floyd-Maidana II, as a long-time Mayweather fan (as if the username didn't give it away), I didn't like how he fought the rematch at all. Way too much strategic clinching, whereas he could've been working Maidana's body over on the inside, and iirc, this was the fight where it looked like either he wasn't committing to his punches at all, or his power dropped off. Compare some of the shots he hit Canelo with just a year earlier, to the punches he threw at Maidana in the rematch and it's pretty noticeable.
I think the Canelo fight was his last really great night. Even the couple of fights before that, he wasn’t the same fighter he had been. The Marquez fight was really the last time I saw Floyd looking at his physical best. people will say JMM was undersized but I mean Floyd’s legs and everything still look pretty young with a spring in them. He noticeably declined physically from that point.
After that he was beating guys with his ring IQ, more than physical tools.
Lol the Pac fight wasn’t even close. Pac won about 2 or 3 rounds.
There’s a reason absolutely nobody wants to see the rematch apart from a few deluded Manny fans. no neutrals wanted to see it again because it was one sided.
Pac doesn’t deserve a rematch, he did about as well as Berto or Guerrero

Floyd had a crazy deal with Showtime. 30 plus mil per fight. I didnt matter who he fought he was going to get crazy money. I thought Maidana was almost a cherry pick gone wrong tho for the first fight.
It wasn't.
Maidana was coming off his win against Broner and it was a fight people wanted to see.
If it was a cherry pick gone wrong, he would have lost. He won that fight by digging deep which shows that he went into the fight prepared for a tough one.
That was espn’s poll, you silly dip****
Floyd ran his own poll on Twitter. Do you even know how to get to twitter
- -TUE 51-0 poll was heavily publicized in all the major boxing sites.
Twitter for U ADD twats.
did you even watch the fight? why would you get credit for hugging your opponent for the entire fight? not to mention making your opponent wear pillow gloves in the contract. it was a waste of time for idiots

- -The Manny/Floyd fight was the rematch that no boxing fan wanted to see of the first fight 6 yrs previous. Then TUE 51-0 ducked not only Manny, but also forfeited his date and MGM venue deposit for that fight.
Manny made that date in an epic debut of the brand new Cowboy stadium in front of 40,000 rabid Texas Fans.
Nah Maidana won Floyd’s who do I fight next Twitter poll
The people elected Maidana and they were correct
manny didnt want to fight Floyd until after He saw Maidana took some rounds off of Floyd
- -U Granpappy musta fergot!
Khan surged late or a KO in that poll.
What Granpappy grade U in now?

Well said.
too much clinching and ref protection, no points deducted, floyd was on peds, maidana no peds+blood drained, also mayweather ate some bombs in that fight, watch maidana attacks in slowmo, floyd got his ass whooped so hard vs maidana in both fights he decided to fight manny because he couldnt be a bigger threat than maidana at that point
Didn't Maidana give him the rematch? Floyd knows he lost, he thought it would be easy work that is the only reason he took the fight.
He made a career out of cherry picking, he seen Alexander give Maidana a boxing lesson, but Maidana did a good job improving as a fighter under Robert Garcia.
Don't forget your boy had to pay Maidana $1.5 Million to wear pillows, otherwise Pretty Boy would have got stopped.

He won the 1st fight 8/4 - 7/5, just hung on the ropes in the beginning and gave maidana 2 of 3 rounds, so the haters starting talking robbery, so fmw jr hustled them for another $70 and 30 mil payday. Like Bob says, boxing fans are rocks. There was never a need for the 2nd fight.
Floyd never gives rematches unless deep down inside he knows he lost. This close fights stuff is bull or Pacquaio and Delahoya would have got rematches. Many still believe he lost to Pacquiao and Delahoya but Floyd believes he won those fights or so no rematch warranted even though big money would have been made

Floyd had no problem giving rematches even though he got the win. I respect that. I actually thought he beat Maidana and Castillo in the first fight, but they were close. At least he got back in and left no doubt.
Canelo on the other hand takes gift wins and runs with it. Didn’t give Lara a rematch, Hasn’t been interested in fighting GGG since he got the win, which most people felt he lost.
