Yeah, things genuinely do happen. But, what irks me is when I fighter says, "No excuses, BUT..." Like, if you want to make an excuse then make a damn excuse. Don't try to hide it under the guise that it isn't an excuse when you're blatantly making an excuse. You can't have your cake and eat it. If you don't want to make an excuse then shut your mouth... if you want to make an excuse then be upfront about it. Yeah, fair enough.

Personally I give fighters some slack on the excuses thing. Sometimes things genuinely happen, other times you've got to tell yourself something in order to continue. I'm sick of these statements that take place directly after fights: "I don't wanna make no excuses but; excuse, excuse, excuse." It's like they think that saying they aren't making any excuses somehow masks the fact that they are making all the excuses possible. It's such a punk move.
