So apparently the IBF eliminator fight Charles Martin vs Gerald Washingotn is the co-main event.....
I guess they're really not wanting people to buy this PPV or just trying to sell it based on the main event alone.
Emmanuel Navarette vs Filipino journeyman Jeo Santisima
Stickman Sebastian Fundora vs "olympian" Daniel Lewis (Okay he made it to the olympics but lost in his 2nd fight...)
What a card! At this point I'd rather just stream it and give my money to the bookies. Not that I'm against the fight, should be fun, but for a co main event? Come on now.... Thought they'd have something decent at least but too late to stack the card now...
Going to stream this because no way I’m paying $80 for a rematch that is stale and on top of that a garbage undercard.
$80 to see wilder throw 2-5 punches a round and get outclassed and fury looking like a dancing bear with his antics smh FOH.
I’ll watch the wilder KO on Instagram seconds later or see fury’s best moments to win. No real urgency
While I fully agree this isnt a suitable co main for one of the biggest fights this year . I also believe this is going to be a very fun fight and I'll be picking martin via late tko or SD . I think hes a level above washington at this point . But ya I'll be looking to the positive about this announcement and that's to rely on my eyes and knowledge of the sport becuase there is a great chance this fight is going to steal the show and be the fight of the night . Two guys with nothing to lose , next to no defence , questionable chins and the power to stop a fight at any moment . That makes for a good fight 8 outta 10 times, let's hope it's one of those 8 lmao
The scary part is generally the good undercards are the ones like we are getting on the 22nd . There is less expectation on an undercard like this. As soon as u make a big name fight the pressure is on , people assume the fighters have to perform which is usually the opposite when there is that much on the line .only select few fighters will go for the kill in a fight they can or are winning via skills and when there is more on the line the fighters are more likely to play it safe and get another W . Considering that seems to be all boxing is about these days keeping the 0 which is crazy imo . Boxing is about challenging yourself and fighting the best .
Good posts as always my friend. Forgot about this thread haha
Idk why people ALWAYS feel the need to mention that a PPV undercard is trash. They are always trash. PPV's are ALWAYS about the main event.
There have literally only been a handful of good PPV cards in boxing history. Hell man go look at closed circuit full cards from back in the day. Big fight undercards are virtually a lock to be trash. John Griffin (15-4) stopped Rufus Brassell (14-4) in the co-main of Ali vs Frazier I. According to boxrec the only other fight on the Ali vs Foreman card at all was Shako Mamba (10-2-1) stopping Antonio Oke (11-8-1).

A title eliminator is just another way of saying whoever wins moves closer , it’s just smart to use eliminator in selling the undercard . It’s not a final eliminator it can’t be , Kownacki has wins over both .
its for the #2 spot. Pulev is at #1 and will be the next mando.....
Lol. Yes it's a awful eliminator but I'm feeling like most eliminators are closer to human sacrifices with one name vs some guy you've barely heard of or never heard of. If anything this at least seems competitive. Idk who I'd take here. Hope this isn't a pickem game fight.
From a competitive stand point it is fine, but are you really ready for Joshua/Martin 2?? :lol1:
0% chance of it happening but imagine if they put Ramirez-Postol on this card after China got infected
I've heard crazier/stupider ideas. I would def buy it if they made this last minute addition.
*note to self stfu and get off this forum for the rest of the woman's birthday before she kills you
They are taking a page of TR and telling people that they only buy the ppv for the main event. There is a good portion of the ppv buyers that want to see a good undercard
Sounds like the mismatch undercard PBC put on for Spence vs garcia
Fair points from both sides. I figured the average casual fan they are marketing towards doesn't really care about, or probably won't even watch the under card. Conversely I thought there might be a decent amount of frugal fight fans that would want at least 1 solid fight to convince them to pull the trigger on it.
Carry on discussing as this ModeratelyYoungManRumble must make haste with the rest of this waning day.
IBF Eliminator??? I like this matchup and have been asking for it for a while, but good god, a title eliminator??
I’m guessing it’s an eliminator for the #2 spot or something stupid like that.
I agree that neither guy should be getting another title shot anytime soon though.
No one buys or not buys a PPV because of the undercard. When was the last time you've seen a undercard fight in a commercial promoted for a PPV?
People will purchase this for Fury and Wilder not for Martin and Washington.
