Who should Wilder fight?
I think it's safe to say that neither guy truly wants the rematch.
Wilder will touch Fury sooner in the rematch.
Fury will box Wilder's ears off for a few rounds.
I don't see Arum or Haymon risking their fighters' marketability.
There's Joe Joyce, Kownacki, Jefe, Ruiz or AJ, or Dubois on the radar.
The heavyweight division will explode in 2020.
If it’s co promoted it’s not going to do big business for either side.
It would have to do 1 million PPV buys for both sides to call it a success.
I don’t think it does much more than the first fight and Fury will be making more for this one. Last time out he was considered damaged goods and they lowballed him.
If Ruiz wins the AJ rematch they may decide to hold off, have Wilder beat Ruiz and then do the fight in late 20/20 for all the titles. May make more sense in that scenario although I see AJ winning a SD against Ruiz.
If Ruiz wins, he fights Wilder no matter what. Ruiz isn't good enough to hold on to the belts. PBC needs Wilder unified so they can stop bleeding money on him. Wilder will coma Ruiz, short, fat, doesn't move his head, and comes in a straight line
:You_Rock_I'm predicting it now. Wilder-Kownacki as a WBC-IBF unification at Barclays in summer/fall 2020.
If Ruiz beats Joshua, the IBF will strip him . There's no way Ruiz will defend against Pulev (if Joshua wins, he might possibly fight Pulev, but I doubt it). So, the belt will become vacant and the IBF will order Pulev-Kownacki (#1 and #3 in IBF rankings, with #2 vacant). Kownacki wins and PBC can schedule an in-house unification at Barclays with a massive gate driven by Kownacki's Polish fans.

Fury is clearly the A side. Yeah his fight bombed in America but so did Wilders and unlike Wilder that is only Furys secondary market where as nobody cares about Wilder.
Also if Andy Ruiz beats AJ again he is a BIG A side over Wilder the bronze PPV Bomber. Ruiz will of been in 2 HUGE events back to back, helping to sell a million or more PPV in the UK amongst many other countries world wide. Plus hed have more belts than Deontay. Basically im just using the EXACT SAME RULES that PBC fans use for making Spence an A side over Crawford.
I wouldn't be surprised if Fury comes up with an "injury" like he did to get out of the Klitschko rematch.
Assuming Wilder is actually starting camp on Dec 31st, his team needs to put a couple potential opponents on the undercard to upgrade to the main event. I would suspect Joe Joyce or Kownacki. Though I suspect they would rather save Kownacki for a Barclays fight with Wilder as they would sell it out.
There's an interesting wrinkle if Wilder fights Joyce. As much as I hate discussing these sham belts, Joyce is WBA Gold champ. So Wilder could possibly leverage WBA Gold into a mandatory position for the Ruiz-Joshua winner.
Outside of PBC, most potential opponents are fighting Dec 7th, including much of the WBC top 15: Whyte assuming he wins Saturday, the Povetkin vs Hunter winner.
If Ruiz beats Joshua, I expect Haymon to offer Arum a step aside deal so he can try to rush an undisputed fight before it's too late. I have no idea if Arum would accept. Clearly part of the deal would be to vacate the IBF immediately so Pulev can fight for it. The WBO would likely be vacated as well. It would allow though for Wilder vs. Fury to be for the WBC & Super WBA if Wilder beats Ruiz.
If Tyson is not next no matter who is next if Wilder beats him the fighter will be labeled a loser, no good anyway, washed up, exposed before, tomato can, somebody's left over, trash, etc.
What’s true then?
Wilder said Fury is next last week and vice versa
Warren said there’s an announcement soon and Arum said it’s a done deal
Nobody has hinted it might not happen, not even Wilder. Wilder has even said when he’s going back into camp for the fight
that has nothing to do with what i said
Seems both sides are saying it’s done and happening. Warren said he expects the announcement very soon.
I’m actually surprised, I thought Wilders team would be waiting to to see if Ruiz keeps the belts.
Agreed! Though I guess this might be why there hasn't been an announcement yet, still a little wiggle room post Saturday's results.
Personally, i'd much rather see a unification fight than Wilder - Fury 2. I'd also prefer Fury vs AJ in a huge domestic match up. It's a new fight and i'd love to see it!
If the numbers don't make sense for all parties I'm sure they can mutually agree to hold off.
We know Fury can sell a fight but nobody gave a **** about his last two or Deyonces last two.
The rematch might do 500k buys split over two platforms if it's lucky, but were all people involved only on board if the buys were expected to break 1mill?
You just don't know.
I do know that if I was Fury I wouldn't be taking any less than 60% considering Wilders PPV failure on his own.
Yes they have to agree not to fight mutually, none of them can get out of the fight and fight anyone else without getting into trouble.
This is why Wilder was talking about asking Fury to step aside if Ruiz wins so he can fight for the undisputed championship.

If they hold off too long they'll have Whyte problems and Wilder will probably end up fighting him on DAZN due to purse bid.

Which is why we can be fairly sure that it's not really signed.
There's no way PBC would control all the belts and send Wilder in against Arum's fighter.
Ortiz and Kownacki would also be pissed off. For all their loyalty the belts get offered to 'outsiders'.
If Fury ain't next, I would like Wilder to realistically fight one of the following:
- Andy Ruiz (if he wins against Joshua)
- Joseph Parker (former champ, and has beaten Ruiz + went 12 rounds with AJ)
- Adam Kownacki (unbeaten)
- Alexander Povetkin (unfinished business)
I could have said (and would like) Anthony Joshua but I don't see that happening unless AJ and Hearn agree to fight on equal footing. However, if it ain't unification I think Wilder could take an easier fight next given he has fought Stiverne-Ortiz-Fury-Breazeale-Ortiz in a row. It could be Tom Schwartz or Otto Wallin or Mariusz Wach or someone similar.
Have heard that the contract is water-tight. No way out for either party.
