It wasn't power that made him special in his wasted prime, it was speed (and power). Feet might be stiff but his hands look faster than Lomachenko back when he fought Cloud and Campillo. Now, not so much. His mental reaction too was much quicker. Now, like GGG vs Canelo and Derevyanchenko, it looks like he reacts in slow motion defensively.
Boxing fans, we need to start asking the promoters to make fights earlier. We're not actually seeing the best vs the best at their best. This Beterbiev looks like an all time action fighter, someone of the caliber we might not get to see in the ring again for decades. And we didn't get to see him in any top fights. The Beterbiev of today, still better than most fighters today, but nothing extraordinary, I don't think.
Look how fast these left hooks were in his prime. https://youtu.be/kXdDGME30D0?t=210. That's a 175 puncher throwing short left hooks with Canelo's hand speed, Bivol's hand speed. That was a special freak of nature offensive fighter. Havent seen that speed from Beterbiev in awhile now.
A catch weight was legit because canelo agreed to it. Plus let’s not act like floyd is a real 154 pounder. Canelo was doing the same thing with other fighters.
I agree that the fight was legit in so far as no laws were broken. Beyond that, not so much.
Canelo hadn't weight abused anyone at that point but sadly, as so often happens, poor abused canelo became an abuser. :puppy_dog
Nobody really wanted that. Some probably just got sick of hearing idiots claiming that Floyd would win such a contest or that the original fight with a catchweight was legit...lol

Can’t tell you how many times i heard Canelo supposedly ducked a “prime” 34 yr old GGG. Unless they wanted Canelo to fight a 28 yr old G somehow
I'd disagree with anyone that says 34 is still prime.
How many of us we're calling him prime at 34? :dunno:

And people wanted floyd to fight canelo at age 42 lol.

I don't think there is a specific age that a fighter starts declining. The varies for a number of reasons.
But if you look at most professional boxers they have been doing it for a number of years that includes their amateur career. That is a lot of wear and tear on the body on such a brutal sport.
According to Canelo fans. You can't be prime unless you struggle, and then you are in your prime and is not actually not that good.
He didn't KO Jacobs doe
And people wanted floyd to fight canelo at age 42 lol.
Not everyone ages the same, its like how one person may smoke cigarettes for most of their lives and never get cancer. Yet another person does it for 10 or so years and they suddenly have cancer. Everyone reacts different, it surely also makes a difference if you treat your body well.
Lmao nah he’s gonna be prime until he faces a good fighter and doesn’t look like the killer he was against low level opp. Just ask the G fans^

Nah bruh, he's going to be prime for at least 7 more years.
Just ask Canelo fans :lol1:

I remember seeing something on twitter like a year ago or more that someone said David Lemieux slept him in sparring. Someone said it. How true any of it is I have no idea.
Friendly reminder that boxers decline at 31, and Beterbiev is old
... sure... this is right for that "Slavic stock"... and Gvozdyk himself is 32 1/2 yo already... then what?...
