Aside from the two cuts, Fury did appear to be a bit sluggish and lethargic than usual; Especially when compared to his last two previous fights with Schwarz and Wilder. Perhaps, it was due from overtraining or cutting too much weight. I tend to believe that it was the latter.
Maybe Wallins body attack?

Fury was massively underrated on here prior to the Wider fight. Then they actually saw him fight his single exciting performance and turned him into something that he isn't. Now he's massively overrated. He's a very good hw but he's nothing like he's being sold as.
Calling Wallin unproven is generous. It doesn't matter how good a fighter can be, they're not ready until they're ready. Wallin hadn't fought at anything like this kind of level and it's an embarrassment to Fury that he got tested by the guy. Fury is the one with every single advantage, including experience. He's the guy who is supposed to know how to deal with a decent but inexperienced fighter.
Unlucky to be cut so badly maybe, but he shouldn't be getting hit by that shot. It was basic stuff for supposedly one of the best around. Wallin didn't have to set it up, it was just there for him. Fury dropped his game to levels below where he is at. That's not a champ, that's a level below.
You have to understand, BoxingScene represents less than 1% of the Boxing community. The majority of "fans" here just come online to ridicule and bad mouth fighters that they don't like. Over 75% of the posters here get more pleasure from being critical, no fun for these people in giving praise.
Maybe Wallin just simply deserve a little more credit for being a live body your thoughts?
I think everyone is just overly critical of all fighters these days.
All top fighters throughout history have had tougher fights than expected with guys they were meant to beat with ease.
Most ATGs had decision wins over journeymen/contenders where they didn’t look great but people forget about that. Go look at their boxing records.
Some fighters today would be crucified for fighting some of the fighters Hagler or SRL did but people forget about that now.
It’s just the way it has become because everyone has a voice now and there’s no real middle ground or reasonable thoughts.
Well, he did toy with Klitschko (though the latter was a statue at the end of his career) and beat Wilder in spite of what the judges said.
So, no: Fury is not overrated, he's just inconsistent. After years of abuse of his body and mind, that's the least one can expect.
Might be, truth to be honest, I haven't watched Wallin's fights and dont know much about him so its hard to judge. Maybe he is a decent boxer? I dont know
But Fury is funny in a way that he can look occasionally bad, then just turn it up and look great the next fight. Will be interesting to see how he will do against Wilder the next time they fight
Casuals acting like the underdog was never a threat. We got Ruiz, Johansson, Douglas, McCall, Rahman, Schmelling, Brewster, Braddock, Willard, Sanders etc etc etc.
These guys get their shot and they grab it with both hands. Wallin has been around a while now and did what he needed to do. Fury also did what he needed to do and didn't lose. Same as Wilder. Wilder is called a bum every day and he's been behind in fights but still hasn't succumbed to a loss to the underdog yet by getting it done.
Chill the **** out and lets keep it real.
A little from column A and B. Wallin deserves full credit as a live wire and will become a known name if there's any any justice; Fury spent 90% of the fight desperate and out of his comfort zone over a fluke injury anyone could succumb to and still made it happen in basically a full 180 from his usual style. Factoring in everything I don't think this should diminish Fury in the eyes of reasonable people. E.g. Jumping to "Wilder KOs Fury in 3" based on tonight is pretty much nonsense.
Expecting way too much. Its Tyson Fury. Who knows how hard or easy he will make it for himself. And all the people calling Wallin a bum cuz he hadnt beaten anybody is just a perfect example of the fickle nature of Boxing fans. Unproven is what Wallin is, hadnt been beat, lots of fighters have a record like Wallin at some point until they step it up, doesnt make them a bum just means they havnt stepped up yet.
But a casuals forum like this is all about being the best or a bum, its one or the other, all these none Boxing forum members talk like champions but we aint **** to be calling ranked fighters bums. But we do, casuals forum full of PBC shills.
By the 5th round Wallin looked like a guy that had never fought 12 rounds before which is pretty much what he is. Before he gassed out he was out punching Fury and making him look average
