Why Floyd just can't get anyone's respect....

Never seen a fighter get so much disrespect. Both on this board and out on the streets as you talk to fans. Few like him, most hate him. The reason why (IMO) he never gets respect or his due is because he doesn't fuk boxers up, he doesn't get into wars. He's cautious and defensive first. He wins fights like olympians do, by points. Of course, the best defensive boxer I've ever seen, but that all comes at a price. Winning via points and having defense first be the name of your game isn't going to get you fans on your corner...but rather get fans to tune in to see if any boxer can light your ass up...which no one has been able to do. Castillo and Oscar being the only arguable exceptions. His wins are like Canelo's, not over the top, but enough to get points victories. The difference is Canelo goes to the body and is way more offensively exciting as he pressures and backs fighters up. He gets his points in a different way. When Floyd wins, to me they're clear just not exciting. He doesn't overly engage and safely and in dull fashion gets the W with lost of movement, cover up in a shell, and jabs from a distance and a mild mix of body shots. Example, he clearly beat Pac...but not enough to put it all to sleep, he didn't get in the ring to kick Pacs ass (Pac went in to kick Floyd's ass...just couldn't) so now you have dudes talking about Pac wins the rematch...hence Floyd's inability to win unanimously and convincingly because of his style. To me, this is why Floyd will never be respected. Failing to engage and carefully waiting out his toughest opponents (Aging Pac) or draining them.

because now that hes out of the way, people see that we go back to real boxing right away! real action in ppv fights,! there is still a lot of damage to clean up - all of the idiots who think theyre "a sides" when fighting in half full arenas need to be cleared out by rael fighters, not scam artists

Nearly all fighters and amateurs respect his abilities & skills That's much better than having most of the civilian population like because "nice guy" No it isn't when you're known as a woman beater which is quite different. He's using the skills he's acquired for the sickest of means. The fact you stand by that shows what kind of moral compass you have.

Coz he keeps on ducking 'till it's safe to come out.. He has ducked so many fighters fake retired, dodged what is in front of him.. And now he's been retired since 2015. It's almost 5 years now.. The dude would not and could not take risk.. His motto is low risk high reward. That's not how to be loved. Now his ducking ways have put him in a bad sit. There's more than half a billion to be made for a rematch.. He's called money, but since he loves to dodge competitive opponents.. He's now a rusty old bucket that can't pull the trigger no more.. So I suggest, if you're reading this Floyd. Stay retired. MayPac2 is a nonsense fight, it'll be the same as the first one, Floyd will just run and run with the win and your money! Vegas saves Floyd in a boring fight. No one wants that shyit. :Flush:

Another thread from another poster that favors Mexican boxers mad because Floyd beat ODH, JMM, Castillo and Positive for PED’s Canelo. Also see a bunch of Manny fans chiming in. We know why they are mad. Every so often we get threads like this and then as soon as the next “big thing” starts to blow up in the sport, the same guys make a point of saying that fighter is better than Floyd. Crawford, Spence, Loma, etc. etc. He gets respect just in a passive aggressive way from the fans that know he’s the best of the era.

for several reason! gayweather jr faked retirement to avoid the welterweight division when it was red hot! you had prime Pacquiao prime cotto prime margarito prime paul williams. gayweather jr ducked all of them! he ducked pacquiao for years until pac had been knocked out and slowed down tremendously jr is terrified of risks and her fights are horribly boring as well!

In terms of just his boxing career a lot of it has to do with being a businessman first & not testing himself against elite fighters in their prime. He rarely fought any elite fighter in their absolute prime. Than he always wanted unfair advantages as well due to his corny A-side nonsense. The thing that’s sad is he would have highly likely still stayed undefeated if he tested himself more but there’s always going to be that what if.
