PBC on FOX - Pacquiao/Thurman PPV prelims draws just 880K viewers

The 2-hour event which supplemented the Fox PPV featuring Pacquiao-Thurman drew a 0.2 share in the A18-49 demo and a 2 share. The telecast on Fox was last in overall viewership when compared to the other 3 networks of ABC, NBC and CBS. A rerun of Shark Tank on ABC drew nearly 2 million viewers on Saturday night in the 8-9pm timeframe while a rerun on Dateline NBC drew 2.47 million viewers in the 9-10pm hour. PBC on Fox featured Caleb Plant and Mike Lee in the feature bout of the telecast. Plant took care of Lee in the 3rd round. 2019 PBC on Fox (fast nationals) July 880,000 June (Sunday) 1.007M May 1.21M April 1.01M March 1.34M February 1.26M January 1.72M Payout Perspective: It’s a little surprising that Saturday’s Fox event drew less than a million viewers in fast nationals despite it being a lead-in to a Pacquiao fight. Also, Caleb Plant has been a fighter that PBC has been pushing. He had an impressive victory yet it appears that less people tuned in.

Another interesting comparison for Saturday's fights. Nielsen's Social Content Ratings chart: https://www.nielsensocial.com/socialcontentratings/weekly/#SportsEvents The Pacquiao-Thurman PPV had fewer social media interactions than the UFC event on ESPN. We know PBC's audience skews older so this doesn't necessarily mean that the PPV bombed but the UFC event didn't have any major draws to have beaten a major boxing card by such a large margin. UFC on ESPN had a card not on PPV not on network TV and wasn't even one of their big events. It was on cable tv and still did better ratings then the PBC did on Network TV which is in over 30 million more homes. UFC on ESPN drew 957K viewers.

Scipio2009 the final adjusted numbers for Saturday are out and no significant bum PBC is STILL dead last programming for the night, STILL the worst TV ratings for the series on FOX. That is horrible for a Saturday night with no college football or any other sporting events of note until NFL preseason kicks off next month. Doubt the PPV did a great number. Pacquiao isn’t the draw on his own he once was and Thurman has never been a PPV level fighter. That $80 price tag didn’t help.

These are only the ratings for the second half of the event. Only the second half was in primetime so TV by the Numbers only posted those numbers. I imagine the event as a whole was even lower. These are not a whole lot higher than what MIkaela Meyer's fight got on ESPN2.

They always do them. Did them for crawford vs Khan too except this wasn’t a prelim. Was built up and pushed as a Caleb plant headliner on fox Yup great point... 880K viewers is beyond bad. A good rating for UFC before their deal ended on FOX was 2M viewers. A rerun of shows that are already scheduled to be cancelled draw over 1M viewers on network TV. You draw almost 700k viewers on Network TV alone just by people falling asleep with their TVs on. So that's bad already but this wasn't promoted like a normal prelim they out this on FOX and pushed it by saying the Caleb fight could headline his own card and it got tons of promo from FOX and all their platforms as it's own headline fight.

You are Dedicated and Consistent bigdunny1 I will give you that :lol1: What does your search history looks like: "Bad News About PBC" "PBC Sucks" "PBC Low Ratings" "PBC Failing" I'm sure I'm accurate but you will never admit it :lol1: The Numbers for boxing are down across the Board though to be honest. It is a BOXING ISSUE not just PBC. The Sport is not in a good space in America right now. Women Softball Championship draws better Ratings than Boxing :nonono: Nope lol a simple search of any ratings will do because any time PBC numbers come out these days they are breaking new low grounds. Takes no time to find these numbers.

Dunny still hoping thinking the PBC will fail even after they signed with Fox I’m sure you aren’t going to acknowledge that there was literally 40 min of dead air after Plant made quick work of Lee. And I’m sure when the Plant #s alone are released they’ll be decent and among the top 15 most watched fights of the year Why don’t you talk about the 100s of people eagerly waiting to watch any GB cards on Dazn for any fighter on GBs stable not named Canelo 4+ years , Been wring this whole time yet still hoping for the only Boxing on a major Platform to fail, Spoken like a true fan of the sport

The full number will come out on Tuesday; when the full numbers come out, the FOX number will likely go up, and we'll also see a more full representation of what Saturday's audience actually looked like. If you're going to try and paint a picture, having the full audience numbers would actually help. I'm already comparing the fast overnight ratings to other overnight ratings from that night. NBC, CBS, ABC the other major networks all aired reruns sat night. FOX was the only network to air live programing and still fell dead last in ratings to reruns. The next worst tv ratings outside of PBC for the night was 1.281M viewers. They are dead last by a country Mile to other overnight fast ratings you dummy. They will still be dead last on Tues. If it goes up a few ticks it will still be bad! You don't pull a 880K overnight then jump up to 2M on Tuesday lol You have no clue if they will go up or down on Tues but the impact will be minium because they are so far behind everyone else. They will still be dead last for the night. When the final numbers come out I'll post those too but these are the only numbers we know now and they are terrible

More comps even if these ratings were on cable TV station for FOX smaller sister station FS1 they would still be lower then UFC's PPV prelims on ESPN (Cable not network station). Since UFC moved to ESPN their PPV prelims avg exactly 1.07M viewers for the 6 PPVs they have had so far. And the last UFC PPV was 2 weeks ago drew 1.145M viewers on ESPN for the prelims.
