is beyond stupid.
I would be furious if my fighter warmed up, they walked him to the ring, and then he had to stand there for 20 minutes while they did anthems.
Anthems should be done while the fighters are warming up in the dressing rooms, BEFORE the ring walks........
Agree! They could still be getting loose in the Dressing Room instead of working up a sweat early then drying by the time the fight starts :nonono:
Years ago they used to do it just like they did in this fight, but it was changed to doing the anthem while the fighters were in their dressing rooms. Probably changed in the early 2010s.
I never understood it. I'm not one to disrespect tradition but it seems pointless before a fight. I don't think Americans are that nationalistic either so maybe we're not seeing it like others do. Fans from other countries sometimes see these fights as one country vs another.

It's a staple of boxing. I've seen it for as long as I can remember and I can't just get rid of it now. And it still reminds me of the great loss of HBO boxing.
They was behind in Time so rushed it. That was odd AF
Please keep that **** in locker room. I Like seeing how boxers get hyped with their own ppl, show fans singing along, and showing the Vegas strip sky scene at night
actually its the opposite, and they usually get the anthems out of the way before the ring walks
i know man but my cousin got me to doubt that last night hahaha
very true...i thought there was not going to be national anthems last night when they walked into the ring already then my cousin was like they always do it after the ring entrance....kinda doubted myself there

It's an American thing.
I want to watch a fight not a signing contest.
American broadcasters too frightened to scrap it though.
Americans are ridiculously patriotic, you get it some times in Britain but it’s far worse over there
It’s especially cringy when all these celebrities musicians try to do those national anthems. I can’t remember which fight Ray J was signing on (Was Definitely a Mayweather fight), and I just thought please sir stop... just stop.

I agree, but they were running short on time. So they had no choice.
running short on time??? Nonsense. A previous fight ended early, and on top of that it was a PPV on its own channel, so they had all night if they needed it........
People at my crib watchin were laughing that manny didn’t seem to know the anthem. Maybe it is time to scale that back. Do it at the start of the card.
