Canelo being mandated to fight a guy whose already been defeated by Jacobs is unconscionable. Derevyanchenko should be fighting Andrade or Charlo or GGG.

What's the big deal? GGG was given an exemption to fight Canelo instead of his mandatory. The fight fell through and GGG still chose to use his exemption to fight Vanes knowing he would have to fight a mandatory after the exemption. He then chose to fight Canelo instead of his mandatory and got stripped.

Fighters are bigger than belts. Canelo certainly is at this point. He's the attraction. Not many real fans care what belt he's fighting for.

They realized what Canelo's next step would be. Trashcan. This is way more likely not only Canelo was going to trash it but fans were pi ssed, IBF old corruption scandals were being brought back up and mentioned, media was taking them to town. Just too much bad press and attention.

So they just forgot that Canelo the biggest star in boxing was already a world champ despite all the hype and promotion about him unifying all his belts with Jacobs belt? I find that impossible.
