canelo came in at 172, 174 vs trout and angulo at jmw over 5 years ago.
Don't quote me bogus or made up fight night weights. Hell John Molina exposed fight night weights saying you guys weighed me as soon as I got here with clothes and jeans cellphone keys etc in my pockets said I don't weight close to what you reported. Until fighters are weighed fight night like they are in the weighin I don't put stock in the numbers. Because guys are either weighed with street clothes on or weighed with trunks, gloves, boots etc right before they come out which is all adding lbs. The only time the unnofficial weight matters to me if both guys in the same fight do it. Because ok then both got street clothes on etc and you get a idea of what both rehyrdated to. From fight to fight when one network weighs you this way another one weighs guys different and some fighters don't even do them and fans and media just make up the numbers. So most of the weight people quote are bs.
Fact Canelo is bigger now then he was at 154 or 155 and still no way was he even 175 in the ring on Saturday. Jacobs was well over 180 and the size difference was massive. The WBC 30 day weight check ins prove most of the bogus weights fans throw out about canelo for years were lies.
He re hydrated and entered the ring at minimum 2 weight classes bigger then Canelo. Canelo likely entered around 172-174 while Jacobs entered the ring easily 180-185lbs. My point is he paid 1M to gain that huge fight night weight advantage and still fought passive and scared at times. The reason there wasn't more excitement is the much bigger and stronger man wanted to make this strictly a boxing skill match and despite missing badly and looking foolish never deviated from that plan refused to take risks that would of either changed the fight or got himself knocked out.

is bigdunny1 some sort of family friend of Canelo or something? :D :D
ok, we get, canelo has great head movement. We all knew that long time ago.
But he lacks the most important part, to punish those missed punches from the adversary.
I hate when he does the head movement, and does nothing. its like, "man, you could hit him 4 or 5 times there"
That is the difference between him and Mayweather. May punished you every time you missed, thats why they were all gun shy against him.
with Canelo you get the movement but lack the punish. He proved that he is elite, but I would love him to be a bit more active on those situations.
Canelo after making him miss landed almost 200 punches! You exaggerating how much Floyd made guys pay especially later in his career after he moved up weights fighting bigger guys. Floyd went almost a decade without a knockout and many fights where he landed lower amount of punches Canelo landed after making guys miss all night in some of his biggest fights
Pacquiao fight Floyd landed 148 punches landing at 34%. Canelo fought a man who entered the ring 2 weight classes bigger embarrassed him making him miss while landing almost 200 punches at 40% connect rate. Jacobs would of been hit way more or knocked out if he wasn't gun shy

bro its one thing to be a fan. but never become a d.i.c.k slurper. you're in slurper territory man. Im FAR from a canelo hater i have him top 3 P4P. i just felt he looked like sht and couldn't apply his style upon Jacobs who was in the driver seat all night. posting one pic of a boxer getting hit means nothing. its boxing of course he got hit.
pictures, videos, punch stats all showed Jacobs was getting hit cleanly while missing badly. Laughing at you saying he was dictating the pace when he couldn't land let alone cleanly while canelo landed 40% of his shots. Canelo literally landed more jabs, more power shots, more body shots more everything and at double connect rates. Literally only thing Jacobs did better then canelo was throw shots that missed badly. lol
you keep embarrassing yourself yup Jacobs defense was great alright. Canelo couldn't land nothing he blocked punches like this with his hands that was CGI that made Jacobs face look like that when he got hit

Jacobs dictated the pace the entire fight. how is that looking foolish? the ONLY reason the fight was tactical is because JACOBS wanted it that way. Period. thats called ring generalship. Canelo reminded everybody how trash he is at cutting the ring and how easy it is to nullify his offense with footwork. Jacobs did as HE pleased not the other way around because Canelo wanted an inside slugfest and could never force it upon Jacobs.
Why bother? The Canelo haters were crying robbery before the opening bell. They would never bring themselves to say what their own eyes showed them. Canelo landed the cleaner more effective shots. Was more active, more efficient, and controlled the pace of the fight.
Jacobs did some good work in rounds 8-11 but not enough to overcome the first half of the fight.
Clear win for P4P Numero Union Canelo.
I could post tons of pics and video of all the clean shots from Canelo I mean he landed almost 200 punches at 40% clip. But this thread is about Canelo's defense and how foolish he made Jacobs miss and look bad doing it.
LMAO!!!!!!!

both of their defense was on point. but canelo is more pleasing to the eye. dodging blows with head movement looks more "slick" and flashy then simply blocking them with hands up.. but same result

He is bigger than Canelo but not by two weight classes. He weighed 173.6 pounds in the morning and Canelo weighed 149 in the morning. That is a difference of 4.6 pounds. Maybe Jacobs adds more weight than Canelo after the morning weigh in and out weighs him by maybe 181 to 173 at a guess. It's like a true 168 pounder against a true midleweight.

In terms of excitement or a war you right it didn't live up but that is on Jacobs. Remember he is the one who literally paid 1M to gain a 2 weight class advantage, he was drastically bigger and stronger man and yet wanted no parts of that type of fight. He came out refusing to fight that type of fight and wanted to outbox canelo. So canelo adjusted and fought the type of fight Jacobs gave him and schooled the phuk out of him. It was Jacobs who was losing it was obvious his game plan wasn't working and still simply refused to take risks or try to slug it out.
Canelo's defense and counter punching be making these top guys fight like puzzzy's when they face Canelo. They don't take more risk fight more aggressive because they don't want to get counterd and knocked the phuk out. Did it to Jacobs, literally made Mr Mexican Style abandon Mexican Style not once but twice. Even a guy like Cotto went on a bike when he faced Canelo. At some point you have to look at his opponents who fight 1 way aggressive their entire career and then their offense production and efficiency falls off a cliff when they face Canelo. Canelo had a man with height, size and huge knockout rate at middleweight shook and when he did throw something other then jabs to keep Canelo away from him he missed badly. He is bigger than Canelo but not by two weight classes. He weighed 173.6 pounds in the morning and Canelo weighed 149 in the morning. That is a difference of 4.6 pounds. Canelo has a great defense and offense but a big stamina problem. I think GGG or Brant could take advantage of that by setting a very fast pace and throwing 800 to 1000 or more punches. Canelo only threw about 450 punches to Jacobs's 650 punches. He let Jacobs win a couple of late rounds because he seemed too tired to throw much back. Canelo trains very hard but some boxers just naturally have more stamina than others and his lack of stamina is a weakness. He is hard to beat but getting him tired and winning late rounds would be a way for the right boxer to try to beat him.
