Canelo will become the 1st latino in history to hold 3 major belts in one division

Ginger about to make history No other mexican fighter, or any other latino fighter, has ever hold 3 major belts from the same division at the same time Duran had the chance in 1983, when he fought Hagler at 160 but failed Trinidad could have won 3 major belts at 160 when he faced Hopkins but failed Oscar had the same chance, had he beaten Mosley in 2003 but also failed he also failed once again against Hopkins at 160 (could have won 4) If Canelo manages to beat Jacobs next may 4th, he'll get that coveted third belt at MW. Can we all agree ginger is a lock for the HOF if he does? maybe P4P #1?

That was close to my recollection. Thanks. Greent. Any idea why one couldn’t have those two titles together? I suspect politics. I'm not sure. Maybe because the WBO wasn't taken seriously by them? I didn't know of any kind of beef.

He won WBC, IBF. The WBO wasn’t really a big deal then. In fact you were not even allowed to own the WBC and WBO at the same time hence why Morales didn’t take Barreras belt in the first fight.
