According to sources, deal was struck after legal battle that included WBSS obtaining an ex parte injunction in Swiss court. Baranchyk has been training at Wild Card with Freddie Roach. Baranchyk vs. Taylor will be streamed by DAZN with winner set to meet Prograis-Relikh victor— Mike Coppinger (@MikeCoppinger) April 16, 2019
Ivan Baranchyk has reportedly reached an ‘agreement in principle’ to remain in the WBSS super-lightweight tournament and defend his IBF title against Josh Taylor in the semi-final, May 18th in Glasgow. — Michael Benson (@MichaelBensonn) April 16, 2019
If Baranchyk pulls out of the tournament he is a ducker and we should boycott his fights. This is one of the only good things in boxing and we fans need to make sure it isn't ruined.
McWater called the injunction a “cowardly, scurrilous” measure taken by WBSS organizers to keep Baranchyk in tourney. Baranchyk side has conceded to keeping fight in Glasgow, Scotland on May 18 but there’s other portions of a potential resolution that remain unsettled— Mike Coppinger (@MikeCoppinger) April 9, 2019
The World Boxing Super Series obtained an ex parte injunction in Swiss court last week to ensure Ivan Baranchyk stays in the tourney for fight with Josh Taylor. The IBF, whose title Baranchyk holds, supported decision. His manager, David McWater, is appealing ruling (continued)— Mike Coppinger (@MikeCoppinger) April 9, 2019
Josh Taylor is a much better fighter than Scott Harrison ever was. A true Celtic warrior and one of the best, if not THE best, Scotland has ever produced.
There is a chance that junior welterweight titlist Ivan Baranchyk could re-join the World Boxing Super Series, which he had pulled out of, and go through with a May 18 semifinal against Josh Taylor in Glasgow, Scotland, Taylor’s home country, Baranchyk... https://t.co/BnXNpAxeH5— Dan Rafael (@danrafaelespn) April 9, 2019
That's exactly what's happening. Money issues were resolved none of the other fighters in the tournament have pulled out. He's under contract what's the problem? It's a smoke screen because they shook to fight taylor. They already got the belt and wanted to milk it for easier fights. Its as simple that that. If he don't want to fight strip his azzz without the belt he isn't relevant.
If he gets stripped he's phuked his IBF belt will be up for grabs and back in the tournament which is what WBSS only cares about they replace him maybe even sue him for because he broke his contract. But most important the winner of the tournament has all the belts excet WBO (their champ didn't enter tournament). :boxing:LMAO this loser came into the tournament, collected an easy belt, and tried to dip before he fought a real threat.
I'm dead. The finesse is real.

WBC champion is also not in the tournament
I feel like Baranchyk's people low key didn't want this fight.

Josh Taylor’s trainer Shane McGuigan claims the IBF have ordered the Ivan Baranchyk fight and the WBSS won the purse bid. This means he would be stripped if he pulls out of the tournament. Taylor himself thinks it’s 90% likely he’ll face Baranchyk on May 18th. — Michael Benson (@MichaelBensonn) April 6, 2019
Oh this isn't pretending. They wouldn't be selling tickets if there wasn't a fight. That's what the delay was about.
I'm sceptical. I hope it is true though.
They've been pretending everything is hunky dory for a while now
