Joe will from time to time have some big names in boxing on his podcast, does he bring a fresh perspective to boxing compared to some of the analysts who primarily focus on boxing?

Yeah I noticed the same, he also got the age him and Tyson sparred wrong. Him claiming Tyson was prime when they fought was silly as well.
Ah cheers mate, I'm glad someone else noticed. He seemed a little off it at times.
Decade later, boxers still make a lot more money.
Main even UFC fighters get paid jack.
Biggest events are still boxing. Not UFC.
UFC stars want to box big name boxers to make real money.
What Joe Rogan failed to realize is that boxing is a cultural and national past time, especially in Europe 'It is interwoven into the fabric of history'. And it is truly the last working class blue collar sport. 'And this is why in some form it will always exist, whether it is dying or not it will have it's ups and downs but? It will always survive' I enjoyed K1 more so than UFC.
I think he's a casual fan. He doesn't claim to be much of an expert either though.
Seems like he has quite a good knowledge of old fights that happened

It's weird because he's evidently been a boxing fan for decades. The kicker is his knowledge of the game is on the ground floor. He's pretty much the epitome of a casual. The type of dude who gravitates to boxers being elite because they're built like an Adonis. Every true boxing fan knows being built like a brick **** house doesn't win fights and often is a hindrance since your output is severely limited.
I don't consider him an educated mind in general. Can't stand that pseudo intellectual bullshyt act.
As far as boxing goes, he's shown himself to be a clown. Some of the statements. :lol1: He makes NSB trolls look like boxing historians and I say that with no exaggeration.
Agreed! He's cut from the same cloth as Jordan Peterson; leveraging knowledge from their niche fields and pretending to know it all. Very dangerous since some people actually think they know what they are talking about.
Absolutely no, no no no no no. The guy has openly mocked boxing before - being a midget of a man he was picked on as a kid, if he got into boxing he'd have to train and spar with bigger men who'd take his head off.
Thus, we arrive at Joe starting something safe like BJJ where he can fulfill his ****erotic fantasies of rolling around on the floor with other men in a safe environment, which simultaneously acts as a way of convincing others he is an MMA Hardman (albeit at 4foot nothing, bald head, steroid abuse and now ultimately the years of abuse has caught up with him and his body no longer naturally produces testosterone, hence why he is such an emotional bytch that cries all the time and talks like a woman on Oprah or 'The Circle')
Well he gave a lot of fighters and boxing personalities a platform to speak in front of a very big audience and to get a lot of publicity so I respect him for that being an MMA guy.
With that being said, to me he's not really a boxing expert or even a boxing mind, but he knows enough to interview boxers and make the interviews interesting. He knows a thing or 2 about past champions of the 80s and 90s and it seemed to me that he was a fan just like Dana White before the whole UFC thing broke out.
I think the whole UFC vs boxing thing is completely pointless so I don't hold any grudge against anyone from the UFC or MMA. I like his podcasts and I listen to them very often especially on my commute to work. he gets great guests on very often and he lets people talk which I appreciate.
And what is so complicated about boxing?
Here, this guy said it best:
...and what is complicated about boxing as a sport anyway? i don't get it why some people are always talking about boxing knowledge like it's a complicated thing? there's nothing deep about boxing that you have to go through some lessons to learn it. even uneducated people can acquire boxing knowledge. i bet some of these people bragging about boxing knowledge are either uneducated or unemployed who happens to have lots of free time to scour the internet and watch fights on youtube.

I'll listen to him and he'll sometimes get details and names wrong. I think he has an interest but is a casual. If i'm not mistaken I've heard him use the 'long count' talk about Wilder/Fury and that a video of some guy timing it on his phone was proof. Which made me cringe for him a bit.
I can't recall the details but I remember Pavlik correcting him several times on things.
I heard Schaub talking the other day, it wasn't on Rogan's podcast, but he was talking about Spence Vs Garcia and he described Garcia as 'one of the best of all time'. I don't think these put much thought into what they say.
Slightly off subject but I was listening to his podcast with Lennox Lewis the other day. Lewis was talking about how he had to go to court to get his rematch with Rahman. Rogan asked him how long it took and Lewis replied '2 years'.
Rogan revisited that later and asked again how long Lewis was out the ring between the Rahman fights and if he fought anyone else in between. Lewis said he faced no one else and once again said he waited 2 years for the fight.
I listened to it again to see if i heard right. As I'm almost certain the rematch happened the same year?
It was a little confusing.
Joe Hogan sounds like my pac turd friends when they speak about boxing. Its just so cringey. I cringe and turn into a raisin when I hear the man speak on boxing.
Joe Hogan dont know **** about boxing or mma. Cruz exposing Hogan for the fraud that he is now that Goldberg is gone. Dominic Cruz>Joe Hogan
Only thing Joe Hogan knows about is BJJ. Which is gay.
He knows BJJ and kicking techniques. He doesn't actually know much else. His so called boxing knowledge is abysmal.
I remember when he had the tv debate with Lou DiBella and and lied about being a huge boxing fan owning dvd's of Pep, Whittaker, Mayweather etc. Rogan will claim anything to make himself look better, including lies.
the buffoon had the nerves to say boxing would not have anymore big super stars. And then Fraud/Pacman/Canelita/AJ happened. He didn't even know who Mayweather or Pacman was before the De La Hoya fight. He was just a casual tyson fanboy from the 90s pretending to know his **** by throwing big names.
