AMIR KHAN could take a beating against Terence Crawford in New York next month, according to Paulie Malignaggi. Khan is daring to be great by taking on one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in world boxing at Madison Square Garden on April 20. Many regard Crawford, the undefeated WBO welterweight chief who has also claimed world titles at lightweight and super lightweight, as the No.1 fighter on the planet and expect him to get the job done in style. I don't think Khan is scared of Brook at all. I mean he fought Canelo and he's fighting a top 3 p4p guy in Crawford. I mean why is Khan scared of Brook? Is Khan scared he's going to get knocked out? Haha been there done that multiple times already lol So that's not it.
I think Khan is stringing Brook along and getting under his skin by making him wait for the fight. Which is a jerk move!
He just doesn’t wanna get worked over by the “chocolate brownie” in front of his own people! Much easier for him to catch a fade here in the USA and hold his head high when he goes back home. He can’t run from everyone at home after he gets beat by his own countryman, especially with all the sugar in Brooks back pocket! 🤣
Khan will get caught with a sweeping counter hook(Left or right) in between exchanges and go straight night-night. Crawford is very deadly with those hooks.
Kahn looks to be a naturally bigger man. He’s not going to win but it’s not going to be that bad of a beating. His problem is he only has one gear. No ring generalship.
Khan deserves a vicious beating. He talks too much, like he's really a good fighter. He's not. He needs to be retired like all of the other fugaze fighters. It's time to weed out the bums from the quality fighters. Khan has to go. And while you're at, Broner must go too!
Crawford is overrated at this point of time.
:boxing: I still believe Khan still has it the speed & skills if not only for his GLASS chin. I still give Khan the edge over Crawford based on the best win of Crawford over Gamboa. Even Gamboa was smaller but he's doing better against Crawford, not only for his wild approach & overconfidence. For Khan, he has fought many elite champions & fighters. He's doing better vs Alvarez w/ his speed & footwork but until came the inevitable one punch knockout that put him to sleep. :luvbed:
That is exactly why I left out the Garcia fight.. so yes, unfortunately, Khan admires his work a bit too much, or gets too emotional. Which has been his downfall... This said, Crawford is a different kind of animal. But, despite what Paulie is saying, I think Khan,s speed will give him trouble , and if he can pile up the points early, and then survive the later rounds, we could be in for a surprise. But I wouldn't put any money on it..because... well Khan will be Khan. ;)
Yea them are some pretty big IFS.I agree if in prime would have style to really give Craw fits but I don't see him winning even then.my 2 cents
Agree Khan was a very good fighter despite being a bit chinny and gets too much crap imo.He did not have the highest ring IQ staying in pocket and throwing 4-5 punch combo's instead of protecting chin and getting out after 2-3 punches. But he has always shown heart and had great legs, speed and decent power.Glad to see you left out Peterson fight because that was BS dec by ref for taking 2 points smdh and I still thought he won by a couple pts.Matter a fact I always thought that MAYBE that fight led him to try and fight/impress against Garcia who he was beating like a rug until to Garcia's credit he realized he needed to take chance and punch WITH Khan trying to catch him in between punches.Garcia showed some BA LLS in that fight.

Khan, the master of the chicken dance, must have got this fight because he is a Brit. Wasn't on merit, I guess that being a Brit makes him a bit exotic for the US fans. Or perhaps they want to see him going round round before taking a rest.
If Khan's chin holds, which is very unlikely, he could upset Crawford with his boxing handspeed. If Benavidez could box Bud effectively in many rounds, I dont see a reason why Khan cant.
khan has some good wins. if he isn't liked who are his fans who keep tuning in?
Because of his great achievement winning the silver medal and silly media antics Khan is known in the uk but to the fans who know he is a diva who acts way above his station. His PPV figures outside of fighting Canelo are grim to the point where sky box office pulled one of his fights and put him on sky 3 where Amir chose to fight on one of the less known platforms. It will be interesting to see how many fans he will get at 5 in the morning uk fighting on BT sports ppv.
I can't stand Khan, BUT... If you take away His KO against Canelo ( because of size and talent) and his KO against Prescott (because got caught cold by a guy with very good power), well that leaves only his Ko against Garcia, which was legitimate.
Soooo.... and it kills me to say so... but Khan maybe better than what his haters make him out to be, specially when you consider the level of opposition he's faced throughout his carrer.

Khan doesn't have the punch resistance to take a sustained beating plus Crawford is an excellent finisher. I see Crawford taking his usual couple of rounds to figure out what he wants to do, Khan will shoeshine a bit, maybe win a couple of rounds and then Crawford will start to school him and when he goes for the kill it will be over fairly quickly.
Beatings (of the career-ending style) usually happen when someone has a chin of iron and their corner fails to step in and save their guy.
Khan doesn't have a chin of iron......
Great point! Was just gonna say same thing I think Khan chin saves him from bad beating. If this fight was happening in his prime then I agree with Malignaggi that Khan would give him a da mn good fight he had great speed and fast footwork and decent power.Even then though I would pick Crawford to stop him late but he might have to come from behind to do it.Khan at his best is not as good as Craw but I think his style would give him fits but at some point Khan would stay in pocket too long and get clipped. His low ring IQ and throwing shots 4-5 instead of 2-3 would and has been his downfall imo.
