You're saying Finkel woud accept a meeting only after Hearn agrees to whatever Shirley wants him to agree.
Joshua asked for 50 million. Finkel got him the 50 million. Hearn then wanted a meeting. Finkel asked, are we meeting to finalize details on the deal? Has Joshua agreed to fight for the 50 million he asked for? Or has the term sheet been rejected and we're meeting to discuss your counter offer?
Finkel has a right to know what kind of meeting he's heading into.
I know wilder fanboys don’t like to hear but I think the team never wanted the fight. The main reason is they know AJ is a tough fight , to the extent where he would be favourite. But more importantly given the high risk they want to maximize how much they earn from wilder and that needs two things:
1) the fight can be built up further by delaying it
2) they also earn money from other fights with increasing paydays - if he loses to AJ that would almost certainly take a huge hit too. Americans don’t like watching those with a loss, AJ wouldn’t quite have the same issue in the UK
in short...probably because hearn has proven to be a clown
he offered 12.5 and 15....and DAZN is now out here offering over 2x hearns highest offer...and they didnt want hearn around when they did it
DAZNs offer is MUCH closer to reality....and probably close....but they must reveal to wilder what AJ would be making...i know you UK clowns will insist it doesnt matter...but it does to wilder....hes not going to take half of what AJ makes.....reveal AJs numbers and if its fair im sure wilder would have 0 problem
it wasnt strange behavior at all and has been explained clearly. since youre just a fan, how would you have any idea what behavior is considered strange in terms of negotiating fights?
finkel wanted to know if they were meeting to finalize the 50 million deal or if hearn wanted to meet to make a different proposal. at the time, wilder was only interested in the 50 million deal, so if hearn wanted to meet about a counter offer to come to the UK, the wilder side had no interest in discussing that.
since hearn refused to say whether joshua was agreeing in principle to come to the US if the other deal points were satisfactory, finkel didnt want to waste time discussing other deal points if the money was just going to get rejected anyway.
Stupid post as usual from this spin master.
How is Hearn supposed to know if Finkel doesn't want a meeting?
You're saying Finkel woud accept a meeting only after Hearn agrees to whatever Shirley wants him to agree.
That's like saying Finkel should say yes to whatever Hearn offers before sending him a contract.
In reality, asking for a meeting is tantamount to saying yes.
Ball was in Finkel's court to complete the deal.
It's amateurish of you to defend Finkel's childish behaviour on this.
Chicken and egg BS. No agreement, no meetinig, no meeting, no agreement.
Finkel cancelled the meetings because he had NOTHING. They quickly responded to some comment Joshua made on social media and Finkel started putting the feelers out but they had absolutely nothing at that point. Wilder sent the offer through a personal email account and there was nothing set in stone, nothing sorted out, money not sourced, date, venue, ANYTHING.
Thats why terms or any form of contract was refused when Hearn asked and the meeting that was planned, what was Finkel going to show Hearn? He would have to admit he had nothing really sorted out yet, certainly no legal binding written contract. I wonder if Wilder sorta got a bit too giddy about the offer and fired off his email prematurely.
Thats also why Finkel got wierd with the wording he demanded from Hearn so he could give him the contract, he said he was ready and wanted to give Hearn the contract and then Hearn said "we are very interested in the offer please send us the terms and conditions" Finkel refused, he wasnt happy with the wording, he wanted them to formally accept the offer before he gave over the contract, THERE IS NO RULES OR LAWS about what you have to say, Hearn could of said "poo poo Winkle Winkle lets juggle some fish, now we are interested please send us the contract" That would of been fine, THEY WANTED THE CONTRACT.
But how can Finkel send over terms and conditions or any variant of a contract WHEN THERE WASNT ONE. A whole month later when there was no more back and forth from either side regarding the offer did Hearn ask Haymon if that offer was legitimate or a joke offer seeing as it came from Wilder himself and then followed up by Finkels weird actions afterwards and Haymon confirmed it was a legitimate offer.
Because Finkel is a disrespectful snake. Shirley Finkel insults Eddie in every interview and was afraid big Eddie will knock him out for that as soon as they meet.
Probably because he kept insulting him in interviews or because Finkel already met Barry Hearn and Eddie spoken with Al Haymon to get clarifications on the offer
I mean how many sit downs do these people want they're like that girl that wants to go out and eat for the free meal
Yeah thats a load of bollocks. Those things may of happened but they certainly did not happen in the order you are saying they happened.
Has there ever been a clear explanation to such strange behaviour?
Help me understand.

DEFLECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hearn had not had lots of phone meetings with Finkel about this offer, he knew very little of this offer. They cancelled meetings and refused to send a contract even though Hearn claimed to be interested and asked to be sent a contract or term list.
How come these Wilder fans go over everything Hearn or Joshua with a fine tooth comb but are happy just to brush aside anything when it comes to Wilder? "Oh im sure they had lots of phone calls, but hey enough about that what about this"
Not that any of that matters, that wasnt even this year. These Wilder fans need to let it go, when there is offers and contracts being sent on a regular basis its harder than ever to believe they are ducking Deontay Wilder.
He knew plenty of the other. He said so in many subsequent interviews. I’m not sure you read my entire post so I’ll extend you the same courtesy.
I’m sure they discussed it plenty over the phone. And that’s where he got the sense that the sitdown wasn’t worth it.
But really...why do folks act as if the story ended there?
Afterward, Hearn said he asked about the offer, got the answers he wanted, and at one point said the deal was 70% done.
Then he said they weren’t taking the deal because, although he understands that the fight makes more im the US, they didn’t need to go to the US, etc. Seems this is overlooked to harp on a sidenote that could have occurred for a multitude of reasons.

Completely out the blue he just made a $50mill offer and he doesnt want to meet to discuss it?
Ok. What a waste of time :lol1:

I can't think of a case which involves millions of dollars where the other party is denied a meeting. And you're telling me Hearn is the obstacle in the fight not happening?
Come on.
He would have to open the books and reveal a lot of hidden things. They actually cancelled two agreed meetings before any offers were made from both sides.
So there is no clear explanation to this other than
maybe Finkel had to deal with Wilder's other greedy, inexperienced managers,
who may have veto powers but would rather lay low.
To his credit, Hearn made the first contact and I remember him complaining about who to talk to saying Wilder has like five managers.
Hearn was frustrated.
Finkel didn't have balls to take the lead.
He couldn't decide on his own without consulting the other managers.
That's what I got from it.
Frustration resulted in Hearn's name calling.
He felt disrespected and not taken seriously.
Can you blame Hearn?
