Finally JRock gets another shot. I know he can dish it out and outpoint Hurd but if he isnt durable, it’s over.
But im a huge fan of Williams and i hope he can take some punishment.
Jrock!
I am a big Williams fan. He's got a second chance at greatness so we will see if he will be able to grasp it and take his place at the top of the division.
I agree with Finito and Squared, I like J Rock a lot and he's a very good fighter but maybe chinny, while Hurd is huge and durable. I'll be rooting for him for sure.
Hurd is all wrong for Williams.
I was big on Williams before the Charlo fight, and I still like him, but it’s clear he doesn’t have the intangibles. Hurd is too big and too strong.
Williams picks up some early rounds before getting stopped.
If Hurd lets himself get tagged by guys like Charlo and J Rock the way he wad getting tagged by Harrison/Trout/Lara (I personally had him losing the Lara fight and down on the cards against the other two before stoppage) stylistically speaking, J Rock and Charlo have better chances at really beating Hurd. Charlo could really stop him, shame he got robbed.
regardless of the estimations. It looked like a heavweight fighting a welterweight.
Hurd is trash
Anybody who beats Lara and is a unified champ isn't trash. Stop hating.
I love how no one talks about Hurd getting completely outboxed and put up against the ropes by a club level fighter from the UK who probably weighed 40lbs less than Hurd.
WAAR HURRD MAN
how did that turn out for the club level fighter from the UK?
Hurd weighs 168 on fight night as reported in his fight with Lara. Do you really believe the UK boxer weighed 128 on fight night?

Hurd is trash
It's crazy that Hurd was using this J-Rock fight as a tune-up for Charlo.
I hope he doesn't get too complacent or Hurd will be the next to lose.
Hoping that Jarred knocks him out though and looks great doing it.
I'm a fan of both, but Hurd is too big for Williams.
I talked with Hurd a couple months ago and for him to tell me how much weight he put on after the Lara fight would make anyone think how in the world does he get down to 154, but he is able to do it.
After this fight Hurd wanted to fight Jermell Charlo and then one more fight at 154 before moving up, but since Harrison threw a wrench in those plans, we'll see what happens after this fight.
I haven't seen that reported anywhere. And his fight night weight has been less than other guys in his own weight class (Mungia)
Everyone screams about Hurd being this huge weight bully, yet seem to disregard hes been the IBF champ for the last two years (where he is mandated to show up on fight night below 164lbs)
Not more than 10 pounds next day morning, not fight night. He still has the whole day to keep rehydrating.
This matchup is perfect contrast of styles, I love it. Brawler-Stalker vs the classic boxer-Puncher.
When i first saw Williams I saw shades of a young hopkins and if he can fight the perfect fight ala hops-Tito , Hops-Pavlik, he can win.
I might bet on him depending on how he looks in training.
Jrock is very skilled but I think he’s a bit chinny!
He’ll give Hurd good work early but once Hurd gets the ball rolling it’s almost impossible to slow him down without landing a big shot!
Rock needs to focus on the body of Hurd, he kills himself to make 154 and going to the body is essential if he wants a chance!
