LOL you have no clue what you are talking about. Their is a reason WHY you don't want a boxer to go up against a grappler. boxing stances are a takedown specialist dream.
Hell naw. Everybody I hit on the street looks like a dead body and I was never a power puncher in the ring. Barely even touch them and they spark out.
lol
I can only imagine what Tyson would have done to man to man huggers.
Actually it is documented. He fought Mitch Green in the street and keep in mind that both guys have street fighting experience as well as boxing. The nasty injury was on the eye of Green...Needed a Tbone to put on that eye...The really bad injury? Mike Tyson seriously damaged his hand.
Boxers often damage the hands in street fights. Yes, if they catch a guy correctly they do well, but if you have even been around a place where fights happen lots a times you will see that boxers are not trained to hit with no gloves and this presents a problem. It also presents a problem for untrained idiots who throw wild punches.
I often give one incident that stands out when I was bouncing as an example of what happens when a logical, predictable, fighting system, goes to the street! There was a young man, twenties...and he was one of those guys with a face that just seemed to have a sign that said "punch me!." Yes this kid was a trouble maker!!!
He got into trouble in the bar next to us, and here come three very big, very angry college aged bouncers.... Vegas odds anyone? Bouncers 100 to 1? What if I told you this trouble making kid, was scared for his life, had no training in how to fight, yet in the next minute 3 bouncers would be in bad shape and he would be untouched? HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?!
Ok so kid is on the street and being a real piece of work, first bouncer gets behind him, second bouncer launches a hard shot, kid probably pisses on himself! ducks...bouncer's fist and wrist slam into parking meter (Kaboom!!) Broken hand for bouncer number one. Bouncer number two falls over scared kid who has ducked, breaks head on sidewalk, Sleep for bouncer number two.... Kid runs off down the alley.
The street is an unpredictable environment where many things come into play. Even when you have skills you never know what will happen.
MMA guys can get in trouble going to the ground, boxers can get in trouble hitting bad surface areas... The person who wins is the person who trains for the situation at hand.
Having good hands is essential in a street fight, BUT everyone knows that all you got to do with PURE BOXERS, is to take them off there feet, which is too easy, ground and pound or submit for the finish.
in a street fight, you are not gonna have time for strategy really. a lot of street fight is over in minutes. mofos aint gonna have the time to be plotting plan a and b lol. most fights ends up on the ground in less than 10 sec. once mofos start grabbing and wrestling.
All fights start out with guys swinging, then grabbing and then falling all over the ground. Boxer always has the advantage in the beginning, all they really need is good take down defense.
by beating on small guys... look what happens soon as he steps up to a fighter his size (nate diaz) and look how fast he taps soon as nate grabs a hold. then look at his fight against khabib, once again, he was defeated on the ground (mma move). as soon when its a fighter his size, boxing alone, doesnt work against full on mma moves as proven in those fights.
Bringing up McGregor's tougher fights doesn't change the fact that he's dominated various "elite" MMA fighters with just his left hand and slightly better than average athleticism and size had nothing to do with the trouble he had against Diaz and Khabib. Diaz is Diaz, a tough extremely durable opponent for anyone within several weight classes and Khabib? Khabib?? Don't even talk to me about Khabib. Khabib went for Conor's legs within the first 15 seconds of the first round like a B*TCH. Everyone on Earth knew Khabib was guaranteed a win if he could get the fight on the ground and he made the coward move. The easy move. Instantly.

Just to touch on this point, Charlo fans were complaining that he only had a week to game plan for Korobov :lol1:
First off, even MMA guys know the last place you want to be in a street or bar fight is on the ground. And people act like boxers don’t know other tactics too, most boxers I know can throw elbows and dirty box at a high level. And most have also dealt with low kicks. A high level boxer usually KOs a decent MMA guy in the street. Too fast and too accurate.
Have to go with the boxer against any level of mma, average or top level.
Mma/UFC is exciting as hell but many of them don't have any strategy when it comes to striking. They just go in head first trying to knock each other out.

Again..this is under the scenario where shorts are worn.
No one is kicking in jeans or pants, trust me on that. Not happening. An average MMA fighter is not going to have the leverage to pull this off and also risk losing footing/balance.
I barely feel comfortable kicking a heavy bag in fitted joggers, only loose fitted clothing is worth the risk in an actual street fight, and even then it's going to be low.
Give me true movement and world class punching/slipping.
Another thing is..just because a guy can box doesn't mean he can't use elbows......elbows are not hard to learn, if you can throw a lead hook and a rear uppercut...you have a couple of deadly elbows to add to your arsenal.
A jack of all trades is going to be caught more than likely.
trust me, kicks will be thrown. especially if its an average mma fighter, meaning he's comfortable throwing kicks already. and nobody is talking about doing some crazy high kicks.
im talking mid-low kicks, which is very common if the fight doesnt go straight to the ground. most fight if it doesnt go to the ground, mofos will start throwing kicks.
in a street fight, i have to favor the average mma guy because a street fight is exactly how mma fights plays out. unless the top level boxer catches him good early on, im gonna have to favor the mma guy.
if you take a boxer out of his element aka comfort zone, he's not gonna perform like how he does in the ring where he has to worry about punches only.
Have to go with the boxer against any level of mma, average or top level.

it all really depends on how the fight goes.. if it stays on the feet for more than a few minutes then top level boxer has the edge.
the mma fighter needs to start kicking or take the boxer down asap to throw off the timing of the boxer. if i have to put my money, i'll go with average mma fighter.
because in a street fight, the top level boxer will not be looking like how he looks in the ring, there's gonna be too much going through his mind because he's not used to this.
where as for the mma fighter, a street fight scenario is pretty much how an mma fight plays out. there's gonna be kicking, rushing in, grabbing, wrestling, etc. so the mma fighter will be better prepared in a street fight.

Conor McGregor has been showing us for years what somebody with good boxing skills and power can do to MMA fighters.

Same size? Top level boxer.
Unless this fight is taking place in shorts and on the sand, the top level boxer is going to have a huge advantage over an average mma fighter.
I love when people say street fight yet don't account for what the person will be wearing...like they will automatically be able to do everything and anything physically possible because it's a "street" fight lol
No way in hell is somebody throwing kicks in jeans, tight pants or going for a double leg on concrete.
Give me footwork and a quick jab to the face in most scenarios.
The quickest most effective way to strike, with footwork and defense is going to be king.
A "real" fight doesn't take place in shorts or on a soft surface.
Kicking is completely out of the occasion most of the time.
Considering most street fights devolve into some sort of wrestling match after punches have landed....Boxer gets his punches off of course but if he doesn't drop the opponent things might get interesting for them. There are of course some exceptions on both sides and exceptional talent on both sides.
Obviously yes. If the MMA guy goes immediately for the boxer's legs before anything happens he has a chance of winning. I don't think him letting an elite boxer get off punches would be in his best interest..
But punching is typically what happens first in these situations.
Is it necessary to pull up the countless Youtube videos of people with boxing training obliterating multiple assailants simultaneously - literally beating up groups of people at once? Despite popular belief there are few things more destructive than a powerful lead punch or flurry of punches from someone who knows what they're doing in a street fight.
