Canelo vs Fielding 12/15
Munguia vs Inoue 1/26
Vargas vs Manzanilla 2/9
Not sure who headlines the 2/9 card but this is all I could figure they got for now.
explains why you guys pump out so many world champions, but I never really notice you at the Olympics.
Exactly.
Zero interest in Mexico for amatuers. No money in it.
Go pro. Sink or swim.
Mexico does not give a damn about the amateur system and their guys don’t have time for it, they have to start making a living for their families.
A lot of them learn on the job that’s why you see youngsters with 30+ fights within a couple years.
If you're a boxing fan and dont know about this, then you're still in transition from a casual.
Its common knowledge among boxing fans.
Mexican fighters have stacked records because like you said, who cares about the amatuers. They look for paychecks as early as 15 years old. Just like Canelo and Chavez, Morales, etc.
Yup Exactly
Is there a system down there to protect against mismatches then? I know in the Am’s you actually only fight guys with your own experience level for a certain amount of fights before you get to “graduate” (it’s why Dillian Whyte gets hated in many circles. Apparently when he switched from kickboxing to boxing he started 100% new and got to just take advantage of guys who had never done anything except train.

Rey Vargas and Alberto Machado will defend their titles in separate bouts on 2/9 in Indio, CA on a Golden Boy show. Curious to see where it airs. Jojo Diaz on the undercard likely.— *Toasts with glass full of JM Marquez pee* (@BoxrecGrey) December 12, 2018
Not one card from either Hearn or Oscar that makes me want to re subscribe to DAZN. Canelo fights this week and there is no buzz whatsoever about it. DAZN will pressure GB to make Canelo/GGG 3 in May after they see the weak number of subscriptions Canelo brings in for this coming fight.
Hearing World Boxing Super Series organizers are working behind the scenes to sort their issues and place the tourney back on track. Great news for boxing— Mike Coppinger (@MikeCoppinger) December 10, 2018
He's the same guy who broke the original story that there was issues. Days later he saying it's being worked out.
I hope it doesn't get canceled. Hearn and Oscar are going to litter DAZN with crap cards.
if WBSS gets cancelled, I want my money back.

Not sure but happy to see GBP coming in to give Matchroom and DAZN some more boxing muscle.
Is it 10 or 12 dates per year on DAZN?
10, but with Canelo's 2 dates that is 12 so one per month.
Not super excited for any of those. But I do enjoy watching Munguia progress & you can't really fault his schedule at his age so he's fighting solid to good guys right now.
The Mexican fighters are so hard to judge in that regard because they have such inflated records. Canelo is 28 with 53 fights. Mungia is only 22 so we look at him as a prospect, but he's also got 31 wins beating the piss out of unranked guys because he's "progressing"
Does Mexico not have an Amateur system?

Francisco Vargas is fighing Alberto Machado next :yeah:
Since I paid for DAZN for a full year and the WBSS might be finished, I’m glad golden boy is bringing some talent to DAZN, because Matchroom USA’s roster is a dumpster fire
